nope nope i got the bike off a friend.
he bought it in july 08.. rode for about 400km.
then i took over i think in sept 08.. currently abt 2000km.

on paper we didnt do any transfer, so it's still first owner kinda status.

new machine price was about 36-37k when i checked last year (not sure if still the same).

i'm riding the ktm rc8 white. before i bought the bike, I've done some homework here & there, so let me explain briefly.
brand new rc8 machine price from agent (dirt-wheel, no parallel import) is $36,000. I don't think there is any more production left for this model as from the last motor show in Milan, KTM has released the RC8-r for the 2010 market. the price for this 180bhp rc8-r beast is estimated about $40,000-$42,000 if it hits our streets.
if you were to ask me if i would sell away my current ride for the new rc8-r, i would say no, because ktm sells all the upgraded engine-kits & bits which can be purchase freely from the market.

now jamesngu is selling his bike for $28,000. which is a good price (negotiable some more), because the rc8 is a head-turner of a bike! marchesini rims, wp suspensions, brembos~ the works. don't even need to upgrade to any aftermarket parts. if his is july 08 registered, there is high tendency that there is still warranty from agent as far as i know, all bikes comes in 2-year warranty from ktm (however you need to double confirm with agent first). surprisingly, parts are easier to come by as Ong from dirt wheel has good relations with KTM Austria & parts just take 2-3weeks to arrive if they have no stock in singapore (some friends riding the rc8 will vouch for this).

so wish TS good luck for the sales! and for once,,, i definitely love my ride...

i'm not sure how it compares to the jap bikes, but so far the prices at dirtwheel quite reasonable. even the parts arent expensive. definitely much better than ducati.. haha.

handling is fantastic. very customable bike in terms of riding posture, footpeg position, suspension response etc.
