oh really?

Then i'd whack u up after I whack the kid.

Because u enforce the importance of TP more than that of safety riding.

Given the recent spate of bike thefts, there's a high chance of you getting lynched by the bike owner if he misunderstood ur intentions.
He might rip ur pants off and check whether u are wearing panties. :help:
Cos bike thieves wear stolen panties.

SUay lah for us, but in some european countries, you are allowed to ride a 50cc bike when u turn 16. No speed, but at least it's a bike.
Then 125cc at 17.

i even kanna a case whereby i park at a carpark and standing at the railing waiting for my friend.. than 3 guys, late teens, saw my bike and start to point point... one of them use his leg to pull the main stand down (to see if it is the main-stain). than he get bold and tries to try out my bike by sitting on top...

but b4 he could do tat, i was shouting at him "oei!" and walk towards them.

he said he is just lookin and i rebuked himfor using his leg to play my mainstand and tryin to sit on it. Farkin thinking the carpark is a showroom. Wat if he drop the bike?

I don't understand why so many people think parked bikes are public property. They take them for park benches and just sit their a$$es down as and when they like. And it's not the kids, but adults. sheesh.

gohjohan
04-01-2006, 05:06 PM
I let them look but no touching, especially when sitting on the bike and trying to get it off the stand. My bike is very heavy as it is. One heavy drop on the stand could make it snap. That's my worse fear.

I normally let people take a look 'cos I also like looking at other people's motorcycle, especially to see the top speed on the speedometer.

frankly, i dun mind..
i might even talk to him/her (encountered quite a few times)

but....
there's are jus some kids who ought to be hang by the nipples!!
here's my experiences...

1. Stickers kanna stolen (many times..most recent was 3 days back!)
2. Tire caps kanna stolen (a couple of times. managed to catch the culprit but jus reprimanded him.)
3. Played wif my bike controls. (countless)
3. Bike laying on the floor. (twice. S4, scratches. BB, broken mirror)

so..its a love/hate situation..

hey thats very sweet of you... next time the kid grow up will be the next Rossi hehehe.... when i was young also i like to look at bikes. my dad explained to me how clutch and spark plugs work. i'm only like primary 2 back then! but i somehow understand the theory abit, but didn't know wad they looked like. i touch and sit on pple's bike, esp interested in the throttle and suspensions... till one day i kena scold, then i stop liao. but still admire from a distance. now that i own a bike myself, i dun blame the owner for scolding me hehehe... i dunno y i so interested in suspension and throttle when i was young. and i dun mind if some kid sit on my bike. but sit only... no fiddling with the gears and controls.

I have had foreigners and young students taking pictures of my rides, both CBR400 and K2.

There are people who also ask about my bike's paintwork and where I got it done, cost of it blah blah blah....

A piece of advice is if you are particularly fussy abt your ride as I do towards mine, pls always keep it under covers as you might never know some green-eye punk might just treat your ride like those 20cents kiddy ride and in the process, causes scratches or minor damage to it.

Some ppl may like sportsbikes, while others may not. Some wld prefer roadbikes, while some others prefers scrams. Basically, itz all up to individuals. One should measure one's bike wif one's own wallet ma...

Yep, wave is light, economical on fuel and can't really speed fast, especially with a pillion at the back. But in terms of manoeveuring through a jam, no worries. I see how the Malaysians riders use it I get very frightened and yet impressed.

I think full tank only about 4 litres, but the fuel consumption is very good (maybe 40km/L). And Wave is easy to ride and can even ride with one hand while smoking, cos no clutch.

Btw, last time my friend pillion me on Wave on PIE, reach 110kmph!!
I wonder his meter got spoil anot :sian:

I was very surprised when primary school students as young as 8-10 years old saying out loud to each other "Hayabusa... Hayabusa!!" when I stopped to a red light in front of the school. When I was their age I didn't know crap about bikes!!!

probably they're japanese students and can read the kanji..hahaha

My house MSCP, always got this 2 sec one kids riding bicycle around in the middle of the night at 3am (I see them when I'm washing my bike at night). They hang out with some 18-19yrs pai kias in the void deck, which I believe is not from my block.

The 2 always seem so interested in my bike, always ask this ask that (sometimes they try to touch something den I pretend to wash that part also :cheeky:). At first I happy lah, got ppl appreciate my bike... den one day, bike LOST! Damn tulan... I go make police report. Few days later, saw the boy, suddenly he asked me "eh, where your bike?"

For your info, I don't park at that MSCP everyday but this is the first time he asked me this!!!

1 month later, TP found the bike at an accident scene and caught the fella. Of course they couldn't tell me anything about the culprit (confidential). I scrapped the bike.

Now bought another bike. First day I try parking at the MSCP again with a photocopied A4 season parking coupon on the seat SECURELY. Next day the season coupon lost! Confirm not fly out or what, cos got the seat strap on it. Must be somebody itchy hand. I immediately go refund the season parking and never park at the same MSCP again.

**********************

What do you guys think? There are definitely thieves around my neighbourhood. But should I be suspicious of the 2 sec kids or their pai kia friends? It's natural for me to think this way lor, especially after he asked me that question that day. It was as if he knew something about it.

Now I park open carpark... my bike so poor thing gotta stand under sun and rain everyday...

I remember something. I was eating at Botak Jones Toa Payoh when 2 boys were admiring my bike (the Shadow Aero). Then one of them actually got on to my bike and the other one took a photo. Before I can go over, they got off and happily walked away.

Dun worry, nothing got missing from my bike and no scratches. So I let the issue rest. I used to be like them too, so I understand. If I had known, I would help them get a pic and ask if they're going to post on their blog or something

While I was in US last year, I rented a Sportster to tour the neighbourhood around Appleton, WI. (Didn't go for long distance ride due to lack of time)

Along the way I spotted a magnificent church and stopped to take a few photos. As I was about to ride off, a bunch of 7~8 year old kids from a nearby playground walked over to admire the bike (I would have thought US kids are used to Harleys already)

One of them insisted that I give him a ride... I was like "huh? insurance no cover leh, & I have no extra helmet". How to explain that to an innocent kid with cute eyes, pleading for a ride?? In the end, I pilliioned him to the next lampost.. while his friends ran along the sidewalk and he was soooo HAPPY after that  Probably one of the most memorable highlights of my ride.

Only later I regretted not taking pics with that cute boy and his friends..

(the pic of the church is attached below)

Given the recent spate of bike thefts, there's a high chance of you getting lynched by the bike owner if he misunderstood ur intentions.
He might rip ur pants off and check whether u are wearing panties. :help:
Cos bike thieves wear stolen panties.

SUay lah for us, but in some european countries, you are allowed to ride a 50cc bike when u turn 16. No speed, but at least it's a bike.
Then 125cc at 17.

for me there's this kid at my blk... think only 3 yrs old... but already interested in bikes... esp those with 2 exhaust pipes..

he would pull his dad with him towards my bike and look look... once i happen to be around and let him sit on my bike.... quite a cute sight... haha....

3 years old only so fascinated by bikes?

he got potential.

Do you all mind if people put their helmet at ur bike?

eg; his bike is canvas...and he got 2 helmet....he wear one...so another one he need to put somewhere to open up his canvas...so he put at other people bike...

put only okay ma.

i mean he only put there for a while then after that take back already or leave it overnight?

lol.

I think cos my bike parked down the blk , and was directly under the light (it was night time) so it was easy for him to read his news paper ... but then , van inside also got light .... maybe the light bulb blown. . . but thinking back , my blk below got place to sit dont wan , wan sit on my bike.

Anyway i dont have a problem if bikers , put their helmet on my tank or seat , Cos it wont scratch the paint or dent the seat.... So no problem with that , A few times already i going to my bike and i see a helmet on my tank or seat , and when the rider sees im the owner , they will get nervous & say sorry, but i always tell them its ok , Cos i always do that myself.
