Red face AXA Insurance or Allianz Insurance?

    Hi all,

I have called up both company for quotation.
Price wise, Allianz is significantly cheaper - $378.
    AXA is $467

Both is 2nd party (or 3rd party, fire and theft)

Question is, why the big difference in price and should i just go for the cheaper one?

    Thanks for reading!!

    For your info:
    Bike 125cc
more then 1 yr riding experience
No claim made during that 1 yr of riding.
At the moment on AXA (expiring soon)

Ok i just checked 3rd party quote from various companies, basically i got all quotes around $250 for NTUC, Mitsui & AXA with 10% NCD. So I wanna ask, which company is better (currently under AXA)? Or should just get the cheapest 1...

Allianz is cheaper cuz when it comes to claims, if policyholder did not make a report that he/she was involved in an accident and the other party claims even with all the official documentation, the application is rejected. Was told by various sources that they are the only company that practices that. (was involved in one who is an Allianz policyholder)

Haha that's a good deal heh I bought 3rd part last yr as well for my 2nd hand wave which was about 300+ so basically my premiums remains somehow about the same or slightly cheaper. Whatever it is just wanna settle it soon...

Better settle it as soon as possible..One less thing to keep thinkin about is always better..

Maybe just stick to AXA then..You're not experiencin any problems with them whatsoever right now are you?

Hmm.. So how will this be to the disadvantage of Allianz policyholder? (im another potential allianz policyholder)

    Let me rephrase:
So, party B who wants to claim insurance from party A who is an Allianz policyholder will need party A to report to his own insurance company also?
Else, despite official documentation, party B's report will be rejected by allianz.
    Did i comprehend you right?

How is the refund like? is it proportional to the number of months to how much you pay during the insurance purchase?

    Dear all,

I have tried all four companies. Basically, I still prefer Mitsui. I used to renew with their Beach road branch. They do have the best service compared with others.

AXA take more than 6 months to give me policy and very bad service.

Allianz has the worst of the worst service. Moreover, they have so many restrictions in their policy not to our favour.

NTUC is pretty ok but my friends have bad experiences with some claim issue. Service pretty ok.

So, cheap does not mean good service. I still continue with Mitsui even though i pay more. At least they give me better service and advices.

No insurer gives a proportional cash refund if you give them notice to cancel early.
Read the policy to find your answer on what each insurer promises.

    Situation:

My insurance with AXA cost me $220 with 20% NCD. I cancelled my insurance with the bikeshop after 4 months of usage on the 26th Nov 2007. Just only 9th April 2008 i received my refunded amount of $59 after more than 10 calls made to the bikeshop and AXA.

can anyone wanna check the math for me? Should I just receive $59 or more should be refunded? I suspect the insurance was not cancelled on 26th nov 2007 and was dragged a further few months which resulted in lower refunded amount and also late refund payment.

    $220 / 12months = $18.33 / month
    i used for 4 months = $17.33
    Left over amount for insurance = $220 - $73.33 = $146.66
    Assuming 75% refund amount = 0.75 * $146.66 = $110
So i should get back $110?

P/S: I am just glad that they refunded me. i am also not free to dig out the truth and everything to get back the extra $50 or so should there be any, not worth my time
    No more regrets.

My experience with NTUC was the best. Fast, efficient and great service at rochor road branch.

But its more expensive. for road bikes, more expensive by $100+ according to my experience. for scooters and sportsbikes, they are cheaper (some insurance companies dun cover sportsbikes anyway).
    No more regrets.

AXA's refund is based on a short-rate table, which they can show you if you visit the Upper Thomson Road office.

It doesn't work like a proportional calculation. Instead, it's a table that shows if you cancel with 11, 10, 9... months remaining, what's the multiple for the refund.
