The performance seems like not justify the price...

guys i bought secon hand megelli 125r late 2008 model, i tell you what, this bike its not slow even tho i weight 95 kg and the bike 110kg it still does 84+ mph yes mph not kph. i dunno maybe it was derestricted i have no idea. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask
Generally 4stroker is across the board in terms of maintenance. Engine oil, oil filter, spark plugs.. Pretty much average stuff and not affect in terms of variable like mixing the right amount of 2T, adjusting your valve so as not to have white smoke etc.
Financing wise you're looking at OTR 9K over for a fresh piece.
A couple of things highlighted by reviews.
1) cheap plastic fairing
2) Steering bar that actually snap your finger at full lock and activate horn for you
3) Side-stand that elevate your bike when you does a 30degree left turn and lift your wheel up into the air
4) engine is separated, from symco
5) designed in Britain and assemble in China (like wise kawa, honda in Thai.. trend?)
6) does not take aerodynamic well, fumbles at high speed
This is what I think:
Coming from a legacy of European regime, pit this against YZF-R125, Derbi GPR 125R, Rieju RS3 which uses external engines.
Megalli actually lack alot of fancy gadget to top up the fact that engine was not from them (least the yammie throws in brembo brakes.. BIG BRAKES) and Rieju with adjustable forks. Megalli?
Don't be over obsessed with the "only underseat exhaust for 2B" and forget about the fundaments, fact and figure. You know why 2stroke bike need a pipe with a "belly"? Backpressure to aid the piston work.
Image a small engine with one tiny piston having to actually move itself, you and then having to have the pressure loss alot it's way up a serial of turns to get to the point of release.
Honestly, I have plenty of doubts on the 84mph claim. Basic model + 4stroke + heavy weight does not equal to high speed.
Either you loss some pick-up and gain some mean top speed
or
loss LOTS of top speed to gain some pickup. Trade-off (opportunity cost) exist.
IMO not wise to get the bike. Coming from the fact you're so close to getting into the 2A category which is World's apart. Trust me! You're looking at inline 4, parallel twins.. Vtecs.. Come on!
And this bike don't even have a decent resell value as compared to the one I pointed out.
No offense, just some sharing![]()

I told him some info, let him make decision and then trying to get him to sit on one actually. I like to see how he put it in words. Better to have various views la~
Honestly this megalli is slick. Just hope it was better utilized and was in better hands actually

Megelli 125r is the one i thinking to buy, anyone know they still have first hand? market price how much? or you guys have other sport bike to intro?
RS125 no more first hand?
Nice bike ! How much is the machine price?
i'm currently riding a megelli 125r. it looks nice, but not powerful enough. not too fast on the road. max speed i had was only 100km/h. and it's on a down slope some more.
Bro How's the bike? im riding a Aprilia rs4! would love to see your bike man!
Ducati, making mechanics out of riders since 1946
the bike is generally slow. not much power. which to me, is a good thing cause then it don't allow me to speed on the road. hahaha. but design wise, it's superb! love the red and black together.
Agree (: as i riding this bike as well ... Due to self control for not speeding , design Awesome for my preference

Guys, I'm riding a yellow Megelli 125r. Agree with all the bros here. If you are looking for power, you can forget about this bike. I am riding in 80% to 90% of the powerband most of the time and most of the bike out there can easily overtake me.. so sad
If you are looking for a bike that when you stop at a traffic light and most of the time someone will ask: Bro how much is this bike? What brand is this? How fast can go? Then you can consider this bike.
hey Sylar, i have a megelli 125r and finding someone to carry on COI. would you be interested? PM me?
i'm already in don... haha.
Guys, I just got a new Megelli 125s despite some of the negative comments I read on this forum. Yes, I have to agree it's not fast but it doesn't bother me because traffic's so heavy 90% of the time I can't go fast anyway. I do love the fact that the bike is very light and easy to handle, sounds awesome and has killer looks. Will keep you posted if I encounter any quality issues but so far the bike has been perfect.
