i'd made it for RM80 at KL(RM70 headlight, RM10 "side bracket", RM0 labour) ...d reason i mention as "side bracket" is cz d 1st version side bracket is different frm d new 1...& fr old ver. ,hv to mod a little to fix diamond headlight.. consider dat "side bracket" is just to cover d real steel bracket dat rly supports d headlight....

want more nicer 1 is 2 change FZ16 headlite...itz much bigger& ez 2 get it in s'pore... standard fz150i headlight available at Jln Bapok JB,but fr sure cannot get RM80 as i do,cz JB near 2 spore,as so d price is higher...

You can go to Hong Leong Yamaha to buy the parts. I find that it's cheaper to buy from them than go to a motorshop. Then just add on some labor fees to get someone to fix up for u

Went to bapok lane, whole lane dont have suitable headlight for fz150i haha. Even colored brake levers have a lot of difficulty finding.

While Yamaha Malaysia website still list this bike as being sold, it appears that nobody (motor shop) seems to be selling this in Singapore. I was kind of torn between getting this FZ150i and FZ16 but finding out that this bike is actually made in Malaysia gives it a huge advantage. Hope someone sheds some light with regards to the bike soon. tx

Hi. Not so long ago I was also torn between the fz16 and this bike, but this bike won me over because of the price, fuel injection and fuel consumption. Most of the major shops might not carry this bike though. I myself bought it from another rider. You may wish to check out the smaller shops, like those in industrial areas (tampines, yishun..etc)

Yup..exploring options. So far found it quite hard to do anything as parts are limited here and even in JB. I realized fz150i isnt that popular anymore..but its a good bike

If I Recalled Correctly ( IIRC ), FZ-150i was initially ( 2004) designed, made & sold in Indonesia under the name Vixion, later on ( 2008 ) it was sold in Malaysia under the name Fz-150i.

Imported bikes are heavily taxed ( under CBU- Completely Built Up ), so what Malaysia did was to import the parts from Indonesia & ASSEMBLED the bike in Malaysia under CKD ( forgot what it stands for ).

this was done to reduce the tax, so that it can be sold at a lower price. big bikes Imported from Japan are very expensive in Boleh Land.

that is why RX-Z was assembled in Malaysia, likewise for their LC135 , which is made in malaysia which is different from our Spark 135 which is from Thailand. Now, singapore bring in Jupiter from Indonesia.

It is all due to their M'sia tax laws. Vixion or FZ-150i are basically the same bike, so in Singapore's case, we have to pay import tax regardless if they are made in malaysia or indonesia, since we import ALL our bikes. So what some shops do is bring in from both countries...that is why such confusion arises.

Now, FZ-16 was locally designed & made in India under the YAMAHA brand. Singpaore importers now switch their imports from Thailand & Malaysia to India & Indonesia in recent years.

Edit: to cellardoor, as i cannot openly state on this forum where to go or more importantly where NOT to go to service / repair your bikes, i can only advise you to learn to be streetwise & on guard always in BOTH SG & JB. will share some shortcut tips if we ever meet, but in the meantime, don't always be too ready to part with too much money too easily...Both SG & JB are very tough "training grounds" for newbies, i also have to learn the hard way years ago
