Next round bro, need you to bring me to the Kulai Mongolian Pork Ribs place!

BTW, Bro Scoobydoo and SW9000, I have taken myself out of the Malacca ride. Too many bikee(20+) and I do not like to ride in such big convoy... Moreover 2 hours Jonker Street in Riding gear do not sound appealing to me...

I may bring my wife for a simple ride to Jusco, then followed by Dinner and bike wash at GP...

mongolian pork ribs sounds good... so HemletBOX! volunteered to organise?

no wonder i saw your post but nic not inside... saw the list and was also a little concerned about its growing size. the kukup trip last year grew till >170 bikes, luckily the organiser did a wonderful job maintaining order in the mass. as for this trip, i intend to ride leisurely at the back together with the 125s (rxz, vara, spark, etc). will check with SW9000 what's his plan. riding gear? only donning a mesh jacket which fits easily into the underseat

i think school is better as they got a systematic way to teach. whereas private one have to depend on the instructor.

price school would be more expensive as compared to private as there is minimum lesson to clock.

why is manuel cheaper then auto.
i'm not too sure perhaps is auto got low demand??

better to take the manual license coz can drive both types. manual license comes in handy when need to move large items (e.g. moving house); can drive rented pickups, vans or even borrowed lightweight lorries

    I gotta Agree with Scooby....

    1) I took private... TP twice. 1st time lesson + circuit to TP all in all $663
2nd TP - sobs, adding to the 1st TP amount is $972 total 20 lessons + 5 circuits......
My call is if u really know NUTS about driving, engine, Eye point, Biting point, how to top up your wiper water check engine oil level.. Go enrol in sch.. they'll teach you everything.
If you know a bit.. and more streetwise.. GO PRIVATE.. It'll save u time and $$.. .Period

Well if u are saying Manual Car Vs Auto car is always cheaper 2 - 4k diff depending on the cc...
Most of the latest innovation is based on Auto gear shifting. There's nothing in the manual transmission that will make ur fuel consumption higher than Auto transmission.
So far car and bike(scoot) same
    Manual FC still best.
Getting license for Manual vs Auto is cheaper or not i dono...

FYI i got my license back in 2000...
Wonder wats the rates now... dono ...
back then was 1 1/2hr $35 peak.. .meaning after work hours..

Besides... Driving manual car more fun.... U get to play half clutch @ slopes.... Auto... Jus tap brakes and go.. Boring -_-

I just called BBDC and was told $68.48 peak hour
and $59.92 off peak hour per practical session for either Manual or Automatic.

    Freaking Expensive

    SW73,

I think the driving school is more suited for people who are freshies ie dun know anything about driving, no road sense. This way, they have a proper programme to lead them in.
For an experienced biker like you, can save money by going to Private. However, do note that if you go private way, test date is longer. Driving centre candidates have shorter waiting time for TP test dates.

For price difference, as stated by others liao....

I got my driving licence thru private before I have class 2B. 1st attempt at Ubi Test centre.

    =========================================================
    HelmetBox / Scoobydoo,
I will try to plan for a Kulai Pork Rib dinner nite. Need HelmetBox to be lead bike and Scooby to be S4. I will handle S3's job. Haha...
Any perference on Sat or Sun nite? I am looking at abt 1800H RV GP Petronas.

Distance quite near so I'll be in jeans and tees. Wear mesh jacket and bring raincoat.
Not too bothered about the group size though. I'll be relax travel and take my time. Sightseeing mah, no need rush.
Anyway, my speed so slow sure become Sweeper 2IC...

9th of Jan is a Friday. Friday at 7pm at 2nd Link.

Anyway, good for burning up some energy as you'll be pushing your bike quite abit. Better appetite when you're at Yew Meng eventually.

Check the webcam on any weekday at 7pm and see the situation. May be better nowadays.

saturday i think would still have.
sunday i think it is the least.

i used to go kulia on friday night.
but it like going in at 2130 which i believe it is kinda of late for some of you guys.

if not i would suggest on sunday we go in at around 5pm at least we can return back early and have some rest so that have the energy to work on monday?

Found this link while sourcing for after-market exhaust.
The Dyno test is for SW600.
Seems like the power max out at 7k rpm... which is equivalent to 130km/h for me (on a SW400).

Haha. Vstrom650... TDM900... no money to change lah.
Small small improvement to SW still ok.
SW stock already very good. Nothing much to add except to make it less effort on the throttling and high speed cruising.

Seems like not much option for SW in the exhaust department...

GS12... go overseas must sleep next to the bike. Too attractive to others.
Furthermore will have to eat grass for at least 3 years.

SW stock already very good. Nothing much to add except to make it less effort on the throttling and high speed cruising.

Seems like not much option for SW in the exhaust department...
bet u never thought of Laser Exhaust... they just started to produce for Burgman 650, Tmax & Silverwings. Pls enquire through M-Technik @ PayaUbi. No one got this exhaust in Singapore yet. Worth a try.
Or u can wait for ah keong to fix on his Leo Vince 4 Road, test it to know.

shape of laser exhaust for maxi-scoots looks similar to that of the burger's...

one consideration before changing to a lightweight exhaust could be balancing... i think honda made the exhaust so blardy heavy (HelmetBOX! knows best how heavy it is) in order to balance the backside; in theory, a heavy left where the transmission setup is needs a heavy exhaust on the right to balance out weight difference may not be significant under normal riding but guess should adversely affect cornering or when CG rocks from left to right as in weaving through s-course (maybe to avoid potholes or road hazards). that's one of the things i dislike about the old vespa where one side holds the engine and the other holds the much lighter spare tire

I think I will go by School ba, more structure and since got road experience should be able to finish faster.

Understand that driver who just pass cannot rent a car to drive, only after one year. So if after one year of non driving, can I rent a car ?

some car rentals do allow p-platers, but probably higher rates due to insurance cost. if don't intend to commit so much and/or car usage is not regular, can consider car sharing schemes like NTUC car coop and Whizzcar
yes, that's what lots of pp do
