Yay! Finally have one Used Majesty 400 Reg 2006 on sale in SBF bikemart for S$5.2k.
But when I call up if they can do trade in with my DT125i, they say flatly that they don't want Kymco. I was like.... Ok....
The fact that any bike shop wanna take in Kymco is good liao, nvm the value.... Sian man.

Lol...so sad man...but honestly I have learn to accept the fact that no single cylinder scoot can b compared to the twin of SW. In that sense, Kymco is not too far off any of the single cylinder scoot out there.
Yes, resale price sucks but if you ride it for more than 5 years shd be ok la...hopefully more ppl will begin to accept that actually it's not a bad scoot after all just like what ppl think of SW initially. That said, I'll most probably be switching to the Xciting 400 lol...To me now, it's either back to SW or Xciting 400. I see no point in trying out any other single cylinder scoot and having to spend more unless u talking bout SYM, the jap made price is simply crasy. SW at least is worth it cos of the twin other than that why spend more on something similiar when u can get it at a lower price.
My 0.002 cents tho..
@ parotae
Ask me to check then disappear? lol....
Was there this morning again. I found out it is orgainsed by a company for their 30th annivesary and a total of about 100 bikes/scoots(might be less) is participating.
Based on this alone, it really tempted me to go not bços of the destination but being able to ride in a big big convoy is something i wud like to experience lol...I'll most probably be signing up for it...

Sorry I missed your post. You'll have to google in Chinese to get detailed info on any of the Taiwanese brands. The sales guy (Ah Yong) at Kymco first alerted me to the differences. Did my own research over the last few months. The Xciting is a totally different beast to the DT.
It's the start of the raining season now.... Pls ride safely in the rain!!

Wa lao... I just got caught in the rain and my 7 years old raincoat simply cannot liao la....
Wanted to get the Drymaster Storm Jacket for dual purpose but they run out of green color. Does Anyone know beside Motoworld where can we get RS product. Even online store is fine if they are trust worthy. Thx alot!
No luh. I nvr say I wanna buy BMW scoot. I just say BMW gonna bring in their scoot earlier than Kymco Xciting 400.... Haha!!
And the engine is still developed partly by BMW, just made with "Taiwanese experience", which is strange considering Kymco don't even sell MyRoad 700 in bulks....

Not exactly. I think BMW just wants to partner with a company that has experience in scootering first, as it's the first time BMW is stepping into scooter segment. As for reliable or not, only time will tell. But from what I'm experiencing, Taiwanese still have some way to go to match the Japanese when it comes to reliability.
Not that Kymco marketing is wrong. But big cc maxi scooters simply don't have a universal market. Honda has the SilverWing 600 and Suzuki Burgman 650, but they aren't doing well. People around the world rather buy big cc motorbikes than scooters.
As for Singapore, it all boils down to our local importer and distributor of Kymco - MotorSports as to how they want to market Kymco locally, and actually in the region also.

Anyways, the recent typhoon that has lashed Taiwan, dunno if it'll affect upcoming stocks.... The Xciting 400 may be delayed further by the looks of things....

As far as biz. ethics is concern, I don't think Kymco will release any of their bike to anybody other than MS since they are the appointed distributor.
However, just like parallel import, anyone can just get the bike from any agent in taiwan so that's the difference.
As for ABS, I think MS might get it in if they feel the market is there or maybe can request them to? I can check it out for you since I'm going down most prolly on Monday and will update here.
You could be right but as far as what I look at, even if they wanna tap into the scoots market with a company, they have to belief in or trust that the company they work with are up to the mark. Given their name, I don't think they would want to come up with a scoot that would tarnish their reputation right? So the company they choose to work with is very important as well.
The partnership to me show that BMW have at least some point of confidence in Kymco. Or maybe their proposal was rejected by the japs so much so that they have to turn to the KMT island?
When i first saw the speed sensor ring at the front i was like wah OTR $12K ok what some more ABS.
Then talk talk with Mr Herbert about to buy i ask about the ABS then he say don't have. I jaw dropped, What! Bo ABS! Then how come got speed sensor ring infront? He say that one is speed sensor. I thought i pickup bull horse lan. Aiyah, no choice already, just buy loh and pay deposit, then the Maxsym a few days later appear at MAH. Haiyah, LL loh.
All and all it's also a blessing i got Kymco, get to go trips with MS, got to know people who ride similar scooters and also people who i am enjoying trips up north with. So machine aside, all's good Lol. Machine also good lahha ha.

Lol...I think not too many shops like to bring in ABS version cos demand is still not high. But gradually more n more ppl will b aware of the importance n advantage of ABS la.
To me it's a good to have but not a need to have kind of thing but thats me lol....
Btw, I confirm going liao..will be giving Herbet a call tmrw to confirm my booking...In any case u going too please let me know so I know there's someone in that big convoy that i've been talking on sbf lol...
According to MS, whether or not they bring in the ABS version depends on the Taiwanese side also. As there hasn't been any final details of the new bike, they can't confirm if they will bring in the ABS version or not. So I guess it's another waiting game.![]()
Hais. Fuel consumption dropped to 29km/L for DT125i.... =(

Whoa. Not bad sia.
Now I a bit disgruntled.... Hmm.... But what's your avg travel speed to get 30km/L? Cos my 29km/L is mostly full throttle from traffic lights and on the expressway luh. Haha. 125cc mah.

Am in my last stage of running in. Average cruising speed on express is 90-100kmh now. But my pick up from traffic stops are smooth and gradual lor cos I don't find the need to ram it and can't now lol....
I know you've been enquiring on other makes for your 2A which is good. If you wanna go for Majesty or Burgman then you nid to take note of your riding style/pattern cos they are too low for aggressive riding especially over humps. Even my SW is considered low and really have to go slow when I pillion riding.
On a second note, apart from the dislike that I mention in my previous post, I'm willing to go for the Xciting 400 bços of the pros but of course reliability is still to be confirmed as I dunno if I can ride it for at least 6 yrs and above w/o problem like what I experience from SW. And also the most impt thing is FC. If the Xciting can give 29/L and above, that would be an added bonus.

I'm getting consistent 25km/l since new. Other DT3 owners are getting 27km/l-30km/L+ average.

Of course alot of factors like weight, riding style, express versus normal roads, etc etc. but 25 is abit low for DT I think. Could it be your clutch problem that is eating up your FC?
I've read the whole of this thread and know that you face a clutch problem right? Did you went back to MS to rectify the problem? Anyway, once while chatting wif Herbert, I mention about this clutch problem thingy and he says that Kymco have already resolved the clutch problem with a new set instead of using the original. Maybe you wanna check with him?
To be frank, if I'm getting 25/l I wouldn't be at all happy since our peers is getting at least 28 or more. If the new Xciting can't offer 28/l as Xciting 300 on paper, I wouldn't be bothered to look at it man.
Next month is my scoot due date ...any insurance company recommendations ... which plans to apply...any recommendation..
Recently the squeaky noise came back. While riding especially slowing down for the hump, i would hear squeaky noise coming from below. I suspected the disc brake or suspension and totally forgot about the full stand. I did not suspect the stand also because i have lubricated it some time a few months ago ha ha. So i didn't bother and continue riding. The squeaky noise got softer and i forgot about it eventually.
Today, i happen to look at the stand and tried lubricating it. Couldn't find the squeak until i put it on side stand and realize there is a round bumper/insulator. I gave it a spin and the irritating squeak came out. After a few spray of oil and the squeak was gone. Will monitor when i ride again.

Problem with NTUC is, you only can go to the workshop they choose not you.
Kenna once anyhow do as my skipper rare, have to take taxi back as at industrial area. Go back second time then ok. Poor quality spray and can see the sand paper lines under the paint. Sian already go back second time, just collect loh.
Told Mr Herbert already, he say put a few days to check. They may want to take out fuel system to check. My one new bike leh, take out here take out there wait cannot solve problems come other problems years later because somethings no need to take out but took out cause problems leh.
Leave everything original until spoil loh. If it ain't broke, don't fix it is my rule of thumb.
Does makes sense but to me I felt being short change since other can go further than mine do. So rather get them to fix it once and for all. The more $$ spent on the long run could well justify any parts if any to me.
But if you have the intention to change bike, then it's all secondary liao hee hee...
Well, maybe i'll consider now. Mr Herbert even reply me that the Taiwan factory claimed @27km/l. I'm not even close to 26km/l.
Since warranty going to finish, mind as well go soon.
He even says "You're the only one complaint, all my customer none came back and complaint."
You say loh, seems like i am a liar right? Or that i don't know how to ride. The mech even say i switch to miles ha ha. If i can get 25miles/l i tiam tiam liao. Secretly laughing lol.
