    Exactly, if wait until coe expire still high, you either squeeze balls pay the coe or scrape, or give away to buyer who willing to renew coe.

    If your COE is about to due, you can do an early renewal of COE. At the end of this month, you have the option of choosing PQP for March ($1711) or April ($????).

    Bike coe are usually bid by motorcycle shops under their name. Bike coe goes up or down depend on coe supplies and demand as well as how much the shop bid. My thinking is when cars coe goes up, some potential car buyers will be force to buy bike instead. Its crazy coe cost half the price of honda cub.

    hope all riders can stop buying new bikes so as to stop the coe price from going up. I am really suspicious of the intent of this article:

    Was it a way to scare everyone to continue the coe craze so that the coe can be jacked up higher? The old birds can correct me if i'm wrong.

    If everyone starts buying secondhand and do all the servicing required rather than buy new bike, i think also not as exp as the coe sia, of coz i not talking abt big bikes, I referring to those use for transport purpose 2b bikes. They are the category that's most affected by this craze esp the kups. Maybe the shops will cool down the coe prices??

    Used to think that biking is still something affordable for students like me but now things aint the same. Sad

    Ya lor, its worth the wait, since our public transport is still bearable. You could save hundreds or thousands waiting just a few months. Whats the rush? Only the dealers are desperate, not us.

    today coe drop to 2,490. 44 bucks difference. hard to drop some more if riders dont cooperate lol.

    hopefully those preparing to buy a new bike will think properly when they get extra funds from govt by the end of apr. If they just spur it on coe then its the same as getting nth from govt, and who benefit? not the govt, still the dealers lol? of coz this is based on the assumption that they bid lesser no of bikes for the current mth but sell higher no of bikes (bikes they purchased during low coe period), to those gan cheong buyers, at high coe. Note that this is just an assumption. I may be wrong too. Feel free to correct me.

    end results? coe raise higher and then when hit 3k, another report may be out saying tt coe will rise higher to induce fear? and the price continue to rise. let see whether sg riders will unite or nt, must unite to curb the coe price. we will see the results in a couple of mths.

    so riders pls put the money govt giving on repairs of newly purchased second hand bikes instead of giving back the money to govt or dealers just because of a piece of paper. the workshop mechanics worked harder to deserve your money dont u think?

    yup do the math. u may find it more worth to buy second hand as not only tt u spend lesser but u help to contribute in cooling the coe prices to a more acceptable price. so eventually it will maintain within a much lower range where riders are happy with the coe and dealers are happy too since their sales figures will not have drastic changes.

    Sad news as well.
    Old bike owner will result in scraping off their bike instead of renewing it.
    Career for those shop that does spokes rims will be force to close too.
    No more RXK and RXZ where still got so many bike required spokes rims?

    Dont worry, it will drop. Motordiam got too many 2b bikes to let go, else they be stuck with excess stock if we hold our purchase for coe to drop. They bid high because too many motordiam bid, not buyers bid.

I really hope new gen of riders as well as the previous will not be committing the same mistake 20 over years ago. Since the newspaper had featured what happened eons ago and openly broadcast what the motordiam ppl think will happen (of coz say coe will rise some more, firstly can clear old stock, secondly can hike coe and thirdly its theoretically correct to say that coe supply cuts will cause short supply and thus demand increase and thus price goes up but i dont think its true when the market disagree with the price, this is just my bias assumption only, I may be wrong), y shd consumers listen to them and act as how they wan the market to become.

    i really hope coe can go back to 1.2k or lower. everyone lets wait and surprise them. maybe all tahan till 1 year + later than buy haha. Maybe by then alot of car owners default their loan so alot of second hand cars availble in the market and thus nobody buy new car since coe high, then coe for car drop, less interest in ppl getting bike. Then motortiam even more panic and we buyers continue to bid at $1. then everyone can see the coe drop to $1? haha hard la but if less than 1k not bad liao right?

    hmm for the rich maybe no problem to buy since its nt really exp to them when they compare bike coe to the car coe. but do note that the reason for many tt are riding is due to affordability. so it will be helpful if every buyer can help in lowering the coe.

    As for those that think tt the piece of paper is abit too much but they still okay to pay it. Maybe can consider getting a second hand bike first till the coe had dropped till the right price then sell/scrap off the current bike and buy a new one. its not a bad idea anyway. firstly, can curb the demand for new bikes, secondly when decided to scrap off to purchase a new bike, the overall bike count dont change.

    another way will be if the current bike still in gd condition, dont scrape when coe ends. renew and wait till when motortiam bo bian need to drop the coe in order to clear their stock, then u scrape it and get back the remaining coe's premium to pay for the lowered coe. may have surplus too if this plan succeed in bringing down the price to 3 digits (this will depend on whether every potential buyer follow this plan). if everyone comply to this plan die die dont buy new bike till coe drop till 3 digit, probably when we see the first major dip in coe price, it probably signifies that motortiam start to panick already. but buyer still got to hold their horses till it really continues to dip and touches the 3-digit price. cannot first dip just gan cheong and buy lol. maybe its a fake dip or just a major dip from an ultra high coe rate which is still considered expensive. only during tt mth when coe is 3 digits then purchase a new bike and scrap off ur current bike.

    maybe we shd have a buyer union. a few people cant affect the demand much but if all the buyers come together, i believe we can change the coe history prices that was featured in that article haha. the aim of coe is to control the vehicle number but if u look at the history, alot of times, i think its misused.

    i believe people living in sg had become more savvy and therefore lets hope that people who r intending to use the govt's ang bao to buy new bike (either due to coe ending or just die die want to get the new model) will think thrice before they actually do it. use the money to renew coe also not that bad. treat it as an subsidized coe by govt lor. its better than using the ang bao to hike up the coe which will bring in more money for govt and motordiam but burn a hole in the pockets of the innocent and not well off people who basically needs a transport. its already bad enough that we riders are exposing ourselves to the risks on the road and still got to pay high price just to occupy a small portion of the road and worse, its the car that cause the major jams and not bikes.. anyway since angbao will be given in May, the sudden hike of 600 bucks in March abit suspicious lol. Probably its already planned out by the bidders in the first place. but nonetheless its still better than buying a new bike la.

    the money saved on tt piece of paper may be a few hundreds to thousand +++. it may not be very significant to some but i think the aftermath (to prevent misused of coe pricing and uncontrolled coe pricing) is worth the team effort.

    above mentioned is just an opinion. feel free to correct my points.

They will restrict bicycles on certain roads, force you to pay COE, ERP or take public transport. Those caught cycling on pavement will pay heavy FINE.     haha i m only giving my opinion. hopefully people will support it through action

    if coe continue to rise, creating a fb group to discuss on the coe rate isnt a bad idea. I really dont want to see 4k or 6 k coe for bikes in the next 3 yrs man lol. I think now only affecting students and those normal riders. still not hurting those who intended to drive but bo bian got to ride ones.

    I onz leh...$200 deposit and bid $1 so every month lost nothing till $1 reached unsuccessful they will return next day. Using DBS ATM...

    Anyone game I can start a FB group then maybe we meet together at a secluded ATM and proceed others can chit chat, drink kopi....Just to meet each other the first time...It will be fun, anyway it cost next to nothing to push down the COE...

    Jia you! I really dont want to see 4k or 6k in the next few years sia. But I cant help in bidding cus I just renewed my coe 2026 bucks. pain sia. its good to start now so if really coe hit close to 4k, the fb account shd have created enough awareness and recruited enough new buyers to start bringing down coe before it can reach 6k

    but dont all put 1 dollar la lol. later the motortiam ppl saw this forum, they sure make sure they over shot the quota

    Why not? We have the right to bid $1, motor diam can bid a million dollars i dont care. I only have to bid $1 every month. Song boh?

    Humm....It cost nothing to join in, maybe 10 mins per month bah....
    It is for the future of the riders....Cos many are lazy to bid and all shops bid as high as they wanted...Why because they are not the one who pay the COE.
    You are paying 2k for renewal cos of this reason.
    We need substantial amount of self bidder to correct it.
    I am looking at lowering it maybe not $1 but in the region of 3 digits.

    Its only $2 per bid, even if i pay $24 for a whole year of bidding, still cheaper than the stupid $2.6k piece of paper, dam it.

    I believe $2 is only via LTA's interface.

    if using other interface such as DBS ATM, we may be charged more for it.

    i've tried google it and seems that UOB, Maybank and DBS charges more than $2 if done via the respective banks' system.

    Guys, sorry to break the hopes, but if you look on the details of
    how COE bidding is done,
    you will see that small bids, whatever number of them, don't change anything. They only look at top bids.
    In fact, the algorithm is such that even if everybody bids 1$, but the number of bids exceeds quota, then all bids will fail.

    oic, the money face system only absorbs top range of bids, like an auction. So all $1 bids will be effective if only the top bids submitted are below quota numbers. So we shouldn't even buy bikes in the first place to let those dealers rot for a whole year then it will come down right?

    I beg to diff...If we got enough people it might break the ice. For example.... 500 quota 600 bid at 2k...It make seem like it is worth 2k.....But if 600 bid 2k and 300 bid $2, the picture suddenly changed.
    Just like petrol most countries, diff brand of petrol have diff price but SG, all brands got the same price, why because we lost our ability to change things....
    We can just whine whole day long but do nothing about it.......

    What I wanna change is to self taught how to bid COE. is not rocket science, then why leave it to the bike shops and screw us and bid what ever amount they deem fit.....
    For car yes I understand you need 10k deposit but bike only $200 does it hurt to lost few dollars per month to change things...

    I wanna pools a number of riders that have the same thinking with me and try to change for the benefit of all not just our own agenda....The only person who gain with high COE, you should know who.
