Default It's Now or Never?? COE buy or wait advice needed ...

my bike COE expire next Feb 2013 ... was wondering if i shd renew now april or wait til 2013.

not sure it will go up or down?? i think since 2003 COE is very cheap 2013 most vehicle will be scrap so many ppl will bid so price will go up??

I dun think anyone can give you a guaranteed prediction.

2003 COE may be cheaper, but doesn't mean ppl will scrap. If many do, then maybe slightly more supply in 2013. But you never know if LTA will reduce the quota or not which will negate whatever one plans.

you have 9 to 10 months to decide what you want to do. Personally with so long to go, I'd wait.

besides considering the price of the COE renewal, you must consider whether is your bike good to go for another 10 years....

yeap, i gotta agree wif the rest regarding their concerns.

decide whether the bike is worth maintaining & used for another 10yrs, condition & maintenance to be taken into consideration, availability of parts etc.

wat bike model is it anyway?

Hmmm, trade in/scrap and get a newer bike?

Save the trouble for maintenance problem of an old bike for the remaining yrs Vs spend on new bike (or relatively new 2nd hand bike) and have to spend on maintenance (if needed again on the old bike) again. Need to wait the pros and cons for keeping the bike extending the coe Vs getting a new bike/2nd relatively new bike.

Pls take it as a pinch of salt.

IMO, if 10yrs rxz, still can go into 20yrs if still in riding condition.

Sg is slowing rising the COE threshold for bike, now the COE PQP average is 1.8-2k.
Soon Bike COE PQP and the New COE will be averaging at 2k+,You can refer to the One Motoring COE stastics from previous years till current. Thus In SG ,once the price threshold rises ,it does not drop.

Soon even owning a red-plate car in Sg,will become a "Luxury".

wat is ur target price ? i bought mine on march as knowing april is 10 dollar more exp than march..LOL.. even if 2013 it starts to drop, it also takes another 3mths in order to get cheaper price... for u niteblade , not much diff.. i have been monitoring quite sometime.. ur onli last thing u can do is to save the few dollar that u can... u can choose to buy april PQP, may or june.. may pricing is out, u have to calculate urself, isnt avaliable in onemotoring, as onemotoring only provide the detail at the start may, by then if u wanna buy april pqp, its over.. of cos its a diff or 100bucks or less...

i waited and waited until my coe last day. Renewed PQP $1,375 or something, heng becos of a spite in feb. After it keep rising again, knn. if ur bike is those wholely made in japan/germany/italy, never die kind, keep it, cause new production and assembly nowadays all China, will not lasts. Even mine though assemble in Japan, but some parts from China, still better than those assemble in china. Bikeshops also cunning, dont brg in reliable bikes, brg in all those high maintenance bikes so that u keep spending. So if u play bike, ok lor, wont be asking renew coe qn. If u buy once and keep for life, instead of paying bikeshop, u have to pay $ govt for their million salaries.

    Just a note,
If you choose to renew COE for 5 years, once the 5th year is up, you do not have the choice to renew the COE again.
