sally, i have ridden dozens of times in cambodia, you can do it, i can reccomend a proper kymer gentleman for a guide by the name of leang,.not expensive, and you can rent a bike off him for $15 us a day, please pm me if interested,.
Hey Sally.. I was googling for dirt bike trips in Cambodia and found your post,haha..
Guess what? It's a real coincidence, but I'm also heading up to Cambodia in Nov! I have 3 weeks+ to spend, no concrete plans yet except to go Siem Reap (Angkor Wat of course), and head down to Phnom Penh, finally Sihanoukville for the beaches.. see how, maybe do some community work along the way or if it gets boring, then cross border to Vietnam or Thailand lor..
Like you, I'm also going alone, single female.. abit stressed cuz quite ex to do the riding part alone (I'm more familiar riding in Thailand) plus never tried riding scrambler before,haha... but mainly zzzz cuz of the $$ part if going solo... I'm heading to Siem Reap via KL on 28 Nov, not sure what your plans are cuz this thread's been quiet for a month.. if you'll like to buddy up for some dirt bike riding, PM me ya and maybe we can work out something? Abit safer I guess.. Hope to hear from you!
unfortunately the timing is not so good.. i was supposed to go for 2 weeks. however, my leave clashes with my collegue and i gave way. so its down to a week only. *bummer* the only thing im sure is the date will be on the 20th to 29 th nov. other than that no plans still. dunno if its gonna be siem reap or phonm penh. and maybe visit some NGOs see how they run, but cant commit to any organization for volunteering since my time is too short.
i think- end up, i'll just grab my bag and go wherever my feets drag me and im prob gg to kl too to meet up a fren, then head to cambodia.
so have u booked anything yet (i havent).. maybe u can move it up a few days or so, then we can hook up go dirt riding together.
pbs- since i cut short this trip- i have some more leave for dec. cant think where to go too. i was in vietnam few months ago. any other suggestion.
I'm actually dam tempted to ride there all the way. But not enough time nor money. Sigh. Now with new job and all. Still checking out info about flying in to ride. Return flight I think it's less than $300. But checking out places to go.
Hey, maybe we can go Tristan Park or something for the weekend to have crash course in dirt riding. Or if you have a scram we go dirt riding and crash.

can can. go dirt riding with YOUR bike and crash YOUR bike. sound like a plan!! i did mention i ride a *ehem* rx-z.
cant afford for trsistan these next few weeks laa. using it for the trip instead. ill crash course there. (hope fully not crash my bones)
and are u talking about vietnam or what?? the tix is not that expensive if u go with tigerairways. definitely less than 200.
well heres the irony of it all.. (and u wont believe my luck!)
i went to dancing road(.com) (God knows how far i walked and searched for that place which ends up to be like merely a house faaaar faaaar away) and then they didnt have any bikes for me or tour guides.. so they told me to go to red raid..
at the bike shop (of red raid) i met bernie ( really a great guy) and we ended up hanging out at a bar afterwards.. there i met some more french guys..i was suppose to follow bernies tour the day after for USD$175 a day..
and so.. the next day the other french guy called and bla bla bla.. guess what.. he let me use his 2nd bike.. an xr250 (a wee bit too tall if u ask me) and with another french guy, we went to riding ..!! and it was greaaaaaaat.. not the usual route the tours would usually take.. i went to the rural villagers God knows where.. for half a day only.. and today, we rode around some more.. and (because they are french) even paid for my lunch and all!
the traffic here is CRAZY. the off road is is not as challenging as the traffic here.
anyways. i talk too much when i get excited.
and oh.. because it wasn't planned, i didn't prepare the battery for my camera.. and it seems men dun like to take too much pictures but manage just a few "posing" pictures instead of "ïn-action" pictures.
hes a very nice guy.. hes got a very very good reputation and his services are excellent!
