Definition of New Tyres (Up to 60 months or 5 years from the production month)
Tyres stored under specified conditions for periods up to 60 months (5 years) from the production month fully comply with their original specification. Their suitability for use remains unaffected and properly stored tyres are considers as new!
This does not mean that tyres stored under specified conditions for more than 5 years would automatically be unsafe or suffer from a degradation in performance.
For uncompromised quality, tyres should always be stored in a cool, dry, and dark location with a moderate supply of fresh air. Except when mounted on rims, tyres should be stored standing upright. Tyres should never be stored in the same location as fuels, lubricants, solvents and other chemical agents.
Of course, a first-in-first-out storage system is mandatory in this circumstance!
Metzeler and Pirelli motorcycles tyres produced by PIRELLI are considered as new tyres up to an age of 5 years from their manufacturing date when stored under specified conditions over the entire period!

btw, my BT056 is pretty good on the track, the burnt rubber at the edge of my rear tyre looks pretty uniform, and quite sticky too...
the dunno what brand fron tyre also good, quite sticky, can feel the stickyness when you touch when it is still hot...
