The nude shoulder of DIABLO ROSSO rear tyre is the visual effect of the the exclusive and sophisticated tread design. The clean area on rear shoulders with calibrated cuts in the middle maximizes the contact patch allowing both:

Confidence with unparalleled stability and grip, up to maximum lean angles in the dry; Excellent straight-line traction and stability.
The higher level of grooves between rear central section and the edges effectively disperse residual water. With the complementary support of the innovative compounds DIABLO ROSSO assures:

Maximum grip throughout a corner, even on very wet surfaces.


The compounds of DIABLO ROSSO represent the new state of the art, and are designed to offer unparalleled performance in all the usage conditions.

The main technical features are hereby listed:

Front:

• High rigidity and high hysteresis materials, characterized by high energy dissipation behavior. They provide fast warm-up, more grip, good traction and braking capability;
• Balanced ratio of Silica to carbon-black maximizes the grip both on wet and dry ground;
• New high-stability structure materials, designed to offer high and stable performance from cold high temperatures independently from external conditions.

Rear

• Compound with balanced mix of rigidity and hysteresis either at low or high temperatures to guarantee fast warm-up, immediate and linear grip response entering curves, independently from ground conditions;
• High mechanical resistance chemicals, with the optimal balance of silica and carbon-black charge to provide strong traction, regular wear even under heavy stress, unbeatable grip on wet ground and high mileage.

We often go for the sticky compound because we want our sportsbike to have as much grip as they can make use of. However, sticky tyres don't tend to last 4,000KM.

Pirelli opted for the balance mix of high mechanical resistance chemicals, silica, and carbon-black charge. To achieve optimum performance for traction, wear and high mileage.

Enhanced Patch Technology (EPT) allows the tyre to keep largest possible patch on the tarmac. Working in harmony with Functional Groove Design (FGD) and Ideal Contouring Shaping (ICS).
