carb model r6 always have cam tensioner n chain problems as well as con rod....dunno y.....but it's got more power compared to the FI models....

i guess it is a norm for the carb model r6...could be coz the previous owner did some whacking before he sold it off.
white smoke from airbox never heard of though...time to bring to the doctor liao....

Think the reason why R6 have this common fault is cause most of the riders will frequent track will their bike. On track, there will be alot of downshift of gears during high speeds will will tend to wear out your piston rings more often.
So the thing to prevent frequent overhaul is try not to downshift at high speeds often.
And the other thing is that carb R6 piston rings is not that durable compared to other bikes, but they are problem free, has a higher top end than those EFI ones ... if u maintain them well ....

not only R6 will go on track mah...lot of other bikes make n model aslo go to track...like what u mention....they tend to downshift at high speed so like that mean that alot of bikes that go track will hab to check their piston ring lor...anyway i think i know what gnixer is toking abt... i saw it myself b4 at a bikeshop that this R6 got so much white smoke coming out from the place where ppl connect the breather hose n it look like it is a 2 stroke bike....

2006 Speculation Pics ... Some are reposts but better to collect it all at one location
The one with the K5 shortie end can and larger RAM air intake

The one with twin undertail
The one with underbelly exhaust similar to the speculated kawa 10

The first one is really nice.
Shortie end can which look way nicer than the K5 1000.
Bigger ram air for better cooling, maybe to cool some new features of the engine.
And the inverted forks remains.
Overall sharper, meaner looks.
A beauty!

No have or at least i cannot find yet, usually specs come out after an official release, review and test ride. Now picture or official release also haven disclose ... tink must wait a bit more.
Hope they dont change too much or put too much goodies, or it'll make our second gen sixxers abslolete and ill be damn freaking jealous of the next guy with his new ride.

Yamaha bikes in SG are
[+ve]
->Financially Easy to maintain
->cheap to maintain (excluding post crash repairs)
->Easy to modify
->parts easy to find and at lower cost
->cheap insurance
->easier to find/change dealer; better customer service
[-ve]
->Parts design not as clever as Suzuki in the terms as a mechanic
->material feels inferior compared to kawasaki and suzuki
Hence overall, yamaha is always a good brand to support!
With the new R6 coming in, it will usher in a more competitive environment in the track! WOW!

an arm and a leg
i have no idea, u riding which year one, first gen or second gen.
maybe can ask stingrhea, vector one does such mouldings but must wait till the sixxer is out and someone does a ferring mould so they got a template. Most probably the it wont fit since they revamped the whole design, need to put additional mounting to secure to the chasis me tinks.
the whole ferring w/o tank and paint cost 700, just the tail maybe less than half of that.
