ryan mito and aprilia is two different thingy. mito is under cagiva. aprilia rs 125 have 3 model the earlier extrema, replica and y2k and the 06 which is not out yet. if you asking why spend more money on aprilia i would take it that you are buying first hand? most 2nd hand are relatively cheaper then sp or kawa unless its those pretty new bike. go and try sitting on different bike to see what you want. there is no particular reason why we choose aprilia. you try it, you like it so you buy it :)

nono..me still prac7 nia.. just asking abt aprilia bikes.. nowadays 2nd hand how much? and 1more Q, why it is worth spend extra $ for aprilia den SP / Kips?

aprilia 125cc gt how many model? replica n mito? i duno/. pls fill me more :p

ryans, good luck with your lessons. Lesson 7, that means very soon we'll have another rider joining us on the road liao! :cheer:

Aprilia 125, as jinhanz has replied, is totally different from CAGIVA mito. It's a different manufacturer. They're both 2B sportsbikes, Italian, and wayyyyyy cool. But the similarities end there, sort of.

But adding on from what jinhanz said: Aprilia 125 has the extrema, replica, y2k, as well as the '03 and '05 models. The olders ones came stock with the famous milo kong exhaust pipe, the 03 and 05 are the ones with the small RS pipe.

Now, why is it worth to spend more $$$ on an aprilia which costs something like $12,000 brand new when you can get a Honda SP/Kawasaki KRR (KIPS) brand new at half the price?

Second hand you can get for ridiculously low prices nowadays. I have heard of some 1 or 2 years old rs125s going for 8-9k. The older ones seems to be going for almost free - 2-3k.

Anyway, you're lucky you ask this question now, and not a few months back. Haha.

Well, why is it worth?

It's not.

But you come into the aprilia thread and ask why it is worth it. You must expect some answers.

I can't tell you why you should get an aprilia, or argue that it is - or not - worth your money. But i can tell you why i chose an aprilia 125, and am still on an aprilia 250 now.

1) It's Italian. Enough said.

Unless you prefer a japanese made-in-thailand. In which case you can stop reading and click here.

2) You don't get anything more stable at the corners.

And i quote:

"One thing about the Aprilia, it’s not as powerful on the straights. No wait, it is damn bloody knn powerful. Powerful enough to rip one of those pseudo-racer Subarus to shreds, at least. But just not as powerful when you compare to the rest of the superbikes rolling out of Japanese factories like chocolate from Willy Wonka’s.

But on the bends, there’s nothing quite like an Aprilia. A group of not-too-sane Aprilia riders have taken to saying you could pick a coin off the floor as you bank around a tight corner, no problem. I say i could ride with one hand, dig my nose with the other, and place a nice large piece of booger at the apex of each corner at the famous 99 bends - with my eyes closed.

Yes, i’m exaggerating. But you get my drift: the Aprilia is unbeatable at the corners."

TP Chronicles

3) Tyres are my only contact to the ground at 90km/h. I value my life. And because i do, i rather pay for thicker tyres that cost a bloody bomb to change every few months, than sit on 2 wheels that are not bigger than mountain bicycle tyres. The bigger tyres plus 125cc engine, according to physics laws, means that i'm slower than the SP and Kips, which have 150c engines and those small rubber things. But refer to point 2.

Remember: Power is nothing without control.

4) You can argue the parts are expensive, spoil easily, and hard to find. All not true. Look after the little darling, and she'll look after you. When you do need parts, give Spiderman a ring, he's very helpful and knowledgeable. If i had a motorbike shop, and tons of money to throw around, i would hire him as my personal mechanic or something. Haha ;p

5) The older group has heard this story. I once stopped my bike outside a bank and rushed inside just to deposit a cheque. When i was stepping out of the building, a little boy who looked like he was all of 6 years old was just in front of me.

He saw my bike. He grabbed his father's hand, and gasped: "Daddy!!! It's an aprilia!!"

I will always remember that sweet voice of the little boy. And the smile he put on my face that day.

And i will tell you most solemnly, no little kid is going to look at your bike and go: "daddy, it's a yamaha!"

Sidenote to Marcus! *wink* hahahahaha ;p

6) I sold my rs125 to a good friend for less than a quarter of the market price. Why? Because i treasure him as a brother and his life, and there was no way i was going to let him buy anything else.

Now, do you treasure your own life that much?

7) When you hear the sweet darling purr, when you straddle that beauty (well, it IS one of the most beautiful shapes in the world!), when you meet an fellow aprilian on the road, and you wave and he actually nods and smiles back, when you go down the expressway, smell the air and thank God you're alive, you think to yourself:

All the money i spent on this aprilia, all the hours at the workshop, IT'S WORTH IT.

Aprilia - It's not just fashion, it's passion.

thanks to ah_peh_lah..

he made the stickers for me (it was all his creativity)

he even helped me to stick them on my bike...

he passed me the stickers at night on the way back to his home after he pumped at Jb. it was almost 12am when he passed me the stickers, n it was then i told him tht i didnt knew how to stick them and askd for his help..

he spend more than 1 and a half hours helping me to paste them..

i wonder whether he went for work the next day..

sorry ap_peh_lah for the trouble caused by me and UPS for the fine job on my aprilia 125! i wish this post of mine will help to boost ur part-time business..
