Seldom bearing becomes loose........ they only burst open and all the little metals balls run loose inside the 135cc engine of yours :giddy:

Something else that may become loose is your piston ring and piston. Its pretty common for single cylinder models and its part of wear and tear.

My opinion is get it check by a bike shop u trust, and get it rectified ASAP, before it can cause any further damage (to your whole engine if its bearing like what u mention or to the block if its the piston )

In the mean time, if u are still riding it, ride carefully and safely ( u are riding a time bomb?) :cheeky:

hey guys. was at the Borders open carpark a couple weeks ago. i saw the rxk. i think it was a FC plate. fully moded. he was using the HOnda CG fuel tank. it looked cool actually. it made the bike look smaller and narrow. i forgot to leave him a note so that he can join us on our outing. wasted. if u guys see him, ask him la.

A mint condition RXK will cost abt $1200 - $1500 OTR, a RXS will cost abt $800 - $1000. Both bike are in stock condition. U noe wat i mean?

If un want to get cheap RXK/RXS, then buy from ppl. A shop at AV called Friendship Motor(facing Queensway i think), sell an AZ plate RXS for $1000. At Yew Tee Industrial estate, a RXK cost $800. So choose wisely. If u r lucky enuf, u can get a mint condition K for only $500.

Btw, Guys! I already bought n do-up the Honda Cub C70D for $500. Comment pls...

2. dun jam brakes too hard? :giddy:
3. as lopes suggested, install the rubber seals <---- Recomended

Try changing all the light bulbs, retifier, batt, fuse n the most important one....the ignition switch. All tis will not cost u more than $50. The batt cost $10, bulb cost $1 each, retifier cost $6, fuse cost $2, ignition cost $25. Ciao!

Thanx for the comment on the Honda Cubs!!! Btw the Cub is hand-painted and it is not the old-skool type, the model is C70D. Still, its only 70% done, me need to mod the head-light. Just wait for it.

Welcome to all newbie kakis on this thread!!! i m so happy to see alot of young ppl supporting tis thread. Shld there be questions, i will answer. Ciao again!!!!

wow, my guess is somewhere in the wire harness screw up... if u wan, i would say strip the whole bike and get it chk...

i suspect some wires in the headlight might have short-circuit, cos for my case, was the other way round, all the light working but signal lights all gone, manage to trace the fault to a naked wire in the headlight, somehow the wire jus came loose..

Hahahahaaa....... My nick is a small remembrance of a fellow rider and friend, a small reminder that uncle or kelly has been trying to enforce or at least remind riders all this while. ( that is to ride safe or at least with some common sense)

getting to the main point and not getting :offtopic: ........ Rxk or i would say most bikes thats of this age....... will have this common problem ~ due to the fact that its been transferred countless times = done by many different mechanics = different style of trouble shooting electricals( most headache part of most bikes + earn least $$$ in proprotion to time spent).

Most mechanics would simply create a jumper wire here and there, just to simplify their work. And most of the time, these jumpers are not well done or just done in a jiffy.... hence over time (20+yrs), these jumpers are abandon, reused, renewed ....etc.. and from there it can create short circuits or maybe extra loading for the magneto coil ... rectifier... bulbs... plugs...etc, which will in turn be damage in the long run.... therefore, the best way is like ryan said ..... strip and over haul ur elects.....

just my $o.oooooo2 cents worth of opinion.

Yes got plans to overhaul my elects .... but i need time  CNY now round the corner my house not cleaned and tidy..... my kids need more time to take care T.T ...... my kuniang at home bugging me to help with the house work.

HOW AM I GOIN TO STRIP AND OVERHAUL IT........ last choice is to send it to a mech and do it........ which will cost some of the ang-pow $$ i goin to gif out.............

Hi blackfly and welcome to RX* thread,

FYI we do haf some fellow biker/s riding CG125. If 32mb head still works , @pish is riding a CG together with another fellow forumer. U can check out with them where and wat they did to their bikes.

Anyways [R] is always recommending the workshop at No. 29 Hamilton road. Before he has a chance to post let me post on his behalf. :cheeky: Just do a small search at street directory, it will tell u the exact location + map (directions). In case u dun haf or not sure..... its very near singapore casket along lavender road. PM [R]eplica for details.

Note: the workshop is more specialize in rxk as [R] mentioned before. but is good to check it out since its recommended. myself, have not been there for any servicing , so i cannot say much~~~

hi, need ur advice here. my bike die on me 3 times alr within this week. i really dunno what had happen.

at first, the first it die on me is last week. i park under the rain for 2 days. so when i start the bike, able to start. but when i engage gear 1 and move off( open throttle) the bike die.

so went to a bike shop to service it. told them that might be my carb got water inside cause of the rain. so they wash carb and really found water inside. after fixing, i rode to petrol station. and the next thing i know is, the bike cant move again. same prob. when throttle the bike want to stall engine.

so put my bike back to bike shop, when i went back to collect it, i test ride and everything is fine actually. they told me they drained the whole oil tank and to make it dry. so i ride the bike for the whole night, no prob at all. the next day( which is ytd), i start my bike, everything is fine. but when i move off. same prob occur. now i just leave my bike at tampines. anyway, i nvr kena any rain water after they drained the oil tank.

so dude out there, wat seems to be the prob man?? thanks alot for help :D

i recently have this problem, my bike cannot go above 80kmph or 70 kmph in 5th gear. only rarely it goes to 100kmph but after a while it will go back down. even if i open full throttle it will stay at 70 or 80.
my fren told me that it might be my exhaust too much carbon & and that your bike might decrease in the max speed over time.
i thinking of decarbonizing my pipe.

ani of u guys experience 2 much carbon in exhaust?
or decarbonizing ur exhaust before?

ani suggestions or solutions would be appreciated

maybe its time for you to change your fuel tank cover as due to wear & tear of the cover rubber that caused the rain water get into the tank.. buy original because local one the rubber quality is bad & the cover also won't tahan long easily rust. :goodluck: :thumb:

another thing about your bike problems can due to many reasons.. rain water goes into the fuel tank and then enter the carb, bad spark plug, bad plug coil (ignition coil) under the fuel tank, poor compression due to piston & worst to worst.. the 'PULSAR COIL' that tells your bike when to make a spark at the spark plug. its located at the stator inside the rotor beneath the left crankcase of the bike. its better for you to tell the mechanic the problem you're facing when you ride the bike on the road. ask him to check fully your bike. :sorry::goodluck:

Heylo,
hmm dunno if CG tank can fit into one, but surely theres endless possibilty, mod here and there, hey might as well put rxk tank, hehe, maybe it will hold more gas.
my cg can hold about 6 litres, which is not much, i dunno about RXS tank tho.
but if u want base it on how it will look like later, well thats another matter. heh

actually my previous thinking was to put a rxk tank but other forumer said it cant be done. so i was thinking about the cg one. hmm. maybe next time then see how la. going to broke soon.

anyway, just now when i go take my bike and push to bike shop for repair, my bike was running perfectly fine. not any single prob. i told the mech all the prob i face, and he just tell me if next time encounter this prob, open choke and ride for awhile.

so just now he check my bike, and said really got no prob. he tuned the carb for me again and tt;s all. just now have been riding and it's perfectly fine. so, maybe just ride for a moment and see how again.

what u all think??

Anyone here can give some direction as where to get spare parts for the bike?
Which motor-tiam are recommended for repairs?

And most of the time, these jumpers are not well done or just done in a jiffy.... hence over time (20+yrs), these jumpers are abandon, reused, renewed ....etc.. and from there it can create short circuits or maybe extra loading for the magneto coil ... rectifier... bulbs... plugs...etc, which will in turn be damage in the long run.... therefore, the best way is like ryan said ..... strip and over haul ur elects.....

just my $o.oooooo2 cents worth of opinion.
haha.. ok but who is uncle & kelly?
scary name, u strip & overhaul yourself is it? or u got any good mechanic to recomend?

umm my frend owns a Lao-k, he says he goes to this shop at siglap but then ah they close early like 5pm daily, but dunno about weekends. have been there once but it was closed. normally any workshop can service a K, i dont think its that hard

thanks...
but mine is like... super rundown...
Super sad was when i just got it yesterday and on my way home from AMK to Clementi...
The speedometer needle broke... then follow by the RPM meter needle...

Super low moral...

Then i suddenly got the urge to make the bike nice nice but then i dunno what would be the rough estimate cost involve.
Totally new and hope u guys could like guide me as where to get the parts or rather which shop does it all?

hey layland. i think gad experienced the problem u faced. i can start my engine and all also but when engage into 1st gear and when want to move off, the bike dies. i went to the bike shop and left it there. when i went to collect, the uncle said it was some coil that he replaced. i think its silver in colour. just tot of lettin u know. ride safely everyoe.

hy when is the next meet up man. so long already.

i recently have this problem, my bike cannot go above 80kmph or 70 kmph in 5th gear. only rarely it goes to 100kmph but after a while it will go back down. even if i open full throttle it will stay at 70 or 80.
my fren told me that it might be my exhaust too much carbon & and that your bike might decrease in the max speed over time.
i thinking of decarbonizing my pipe.

ani of u guys experience 2 much carbon in exhaust?
or decarbonizing ur exhaust before?

ani suggestions or solutions would be appreciated

The bike shops i strongly recommend to sent for repairs is at Hamilton Rd(off Lavender Rd before S'pore Casket) n Joon Seng Motor Trading at Yew Tee Industrial Estate(Woodlands Rd). Joon Seng opens from 8 am to 7.30pm.

To get accessories for modding, head to Jln Besar. The shop before 219 next to the POSB atm machine. Price is negotiable for certain stuffs.

hi, need ur advice here. my bike die on me 3 times alr within this week. i really dunno what had happen.

at first, the first it die on me is last week. i park under the rain for 2 days. so when i start the bike, able to start. but when i engage gear 1 and move off( open throttle) the bike die.

so went to a bike shop to service it. told them that might be my carb got water inside cause of the rain. so they wash carb and really found water inside. after fixing, i rode to petrol station. and the next thing i know is, the bike cant move again. same prob. when throttle the bike want to stall engine.

so put my bike back to bike shop, when i went back to collect it, i test ride and everything is fine actually. they told me they drained the whole oil tank and to make it dry. so i ride the bike for the whole night, no prob at all. the next day( which is ytd), i start my bike, everything is fine. but when i move off. same prob occur. now i just leave my bike at tampines. anyway, i nvr kena any rain water after they drained the oil tank.

so dude out there, wat seems to be the prob man?? thanks alot for help :D

then its time already for you to change the piston head and piston ring and rebore your cylinder. :goodluck: :thumb:
its a common problem for 2 stroke bike especially RX-K to face this kind of situation due to wear & tear & also if poor maintenance on the bike.

normally for diy.. mostly done is to take out the muffler from the exhaust pipe and then pour some petrol inside the pipe & light up the flame into the pipe [can repeat the steps for few times if needed] (pls take precaution when doing the burning.. do it at your own risk!) & after the flame have goes off using a long steel rod to poke many times into the pipe so that all the carbon will peel off and come out. (this process doesnt guarantee 100% decarbonization). :goodluck:

another simple method is just send it to the mechanic to do it for you lor..

Well said,

Leyland> follow this advise and u wun go wrong...... besides pulsar coil or ignition coil, maybe the starter coil is spoil too( but is a very rare case... normally the ignition coil will die off 1st.) maybe u wanna check ur induction box, it maybe very badly damage till theres no vacuum.(Its a little black box rectangle in shape just below ur fuel tank)

And like wat bear says maybe ur CDI/plug is spoilt / faulty.

my brake pump kit cost ard RM30, i did it in msia, and is not original yamaha.. i dun noe if its compatible wif rxz's.

for my case i go everywhere to do my bike, like simple stuffs like mirrors and external parts or maybe E.oil, i go msia(plentong-the road leading to Masai). For engine, clutch systems, electrical systems , i prefer to do it in SG. So far i yet to encounter any serious engine or clutch problems + my fav RXK mech closed down already... used to be ard balestier mobil there....he's old liao and wanted to retire a few yrs ago( think he retired ard yr 2000.... ).

FYI , no compression in block means cannot start at all... + the kickstarter is very easy to kick (as if no resistance or very little resistance).

I guess ur bike has some compression lost...

eh yah bro, i saw that method too using the long metal rod thing, i saw one uncle at changi road do it, the shops called chia heng, the uncle name ah siong, very good guy, but u gotta keep reminding him what he does cos somtimes he can be really forgetful, but yeah i service my bike there, a few times. dunno if you all ever go to his shop. its a changi road near the AS Phoon there.
he does RXKs also, i got see a few older uncles stop by there and do service their lao kays. but basic servicing ah, nuthing big..any way he did a good job modding my signals and wiring.im kinda using NSR signals front and back..i dont use the old ones cus they stick out and sometimes me or my pillion will keep kicking off the signals, while getting on the bike..so i switch to NSR ones lor..but they work pretty good. heh.

and also, i saw that EO got for 4 stroke bike and some are for 2 stroke bike one right? can i use those for 4 stroke bike one???

thanks alot
umm, if you ride 4 stroke use 4 stroke one la.
i dunno about 2t and 2 stroke, maybe the Kays can help ya out on that..
btw i use Conoco 4 stroke, the $20-$22 dollar one. i think its quite good.

2T for 2 stroke bike only coz only 2 stroke bike need 2T for combustion whereas 4 stroke doesnt need 2T.. its juz need 4T. so 4T for use on 2 stroke & 4 stroke bike engine. hope it can clarify the curiosity. :thumb:

any brand will do & the more a bit expensive one the more better.. for 2 stroke bike only use semi-synthetic engine oil. normally recommended 20W-5O grade.

only my 0.000002 cent opinion...

maybe you guys should have a gathering about this or something, hah, i dont think words can really describe it as clearly as how to do it in real life.
i ride a CG so i dunno how to advise on that. but then again, i dunno how to advise on anything mechanical for that matter.
but i guess decarbonising a pipe, it doesnt matter what ride u have.
:goodluck:
thats true.. sometimes its easier to say theoritically than practically. some are gd at theory & some are gd at practical. so we can learn from one another & share the knowledge.. :faint:

never heard before about 4 stroke exhaust pipe doing the decarbonization.. only 2 stroke exhaust pipe do coz as we know 2 stroke bike use 2T for combustion & produce a lot of carbon. the carbon due to combustion is most collected at the exhaust pipe. :giddy:

eh yah bro, i saw that method too using the long metal rod thing, i saw one uncle at changi road do it, the shops called chia heng, the uncle name ah siong, very good guy, but u gotta keep reminding him what he does cos somtimes he can be really forgetful, but yeah i service my bike there, a few times. dunno if you all ever go to his shop. its a changi road near the AS Phoon there.
he does RXKs also, i got see a few older uncles stop by there and do service their lao kays. but basic servicing ah, nuthing big..any way he did a good job modding my signals and wiring.im kinda using NSR signals front and back..i dont use the old ones cus they stick out and sometimes me or my pillion will keep kicking off the signals, while getting on the bike..so i switch to NSR ones lor..but they work pretty good. heh.

Ic , but pls take note (something about forgetful mechs),

try to check his work ( that is if u know ur stuff), beware and try not to let him leave things inside your bike ~ i.e like some screw inside the cylinder head after the overhaul job is done :giddy: ..... and things like that~ i guess u know what i mean.... no offence

P.S. i am not saying the mech is no good, but just some things to note, esp when u noe the mech's habit. just be careful and prevent unnecessary things from happening

my brake pump kit cost ard RM30, i did it in msia, and is not original yamaha.. i dun noe if its compatible wif rxz's.

for my case i go everywhere to do my bike, like simple stuffs like mirrors and external parts or maybe E.oil, i go msia(plentong-the road leading to Masai). For engine, clutch systems, electrical systems , i prefer to do it in SG. So far i yet to encounter any serious engine or clutch problems + my fav RXK mech closed down already... used to be ard balestier mobil there....he's old liao and wanted to retire a few yrs ago( think he retired ard yr 2000.... ).

AND i'm not nice...... + my nick is not scary~!
hi not scary not nice... kekeke.. :P
that is good price compared to same sgd$ locally & yes i think same rxz...
thanks i just need a rough gauge, had to do mine here...
emergency so no chance go plentong (road to masai so big place... where ah?)

balestier..hmm familiar, but too bad ur mechanic retired if not can organise go there together. :D
met 1 uncle, he said he use good gear oil instead of engine oil... u heard abt that before?

yes the original fork is at that price, my ex Rxk was installed with original ones. After market ones , are known to corrode easily over a short period of time( or if not cleaned regularly.) i did it at a ahpek shop ard balestier and its no longer there.

after u switch off the ignition, IN OFF POSITION press it down and release it (with your keys still on the switch) then try to turn to lock position......

Take note before u try to attempt to lock your handle bar, PLS ENSURE ITS TURN YOUR HANDLE BAR FULLY TO EITHER LEFT OR RIGHT

If u fail to do it, maybe u wanna try meetup i believe many people here can give u a demo :cheeky: (unless its spoilt)

Pls follow the above instruction carefully, failing to do so may result in damage of expensive equipment or may result in serious injuries or maybe even death. If unsure or in doubt, pls dun hesitate to consult a professional mechanic ( and i not liable for all losses as this is just a general comment worth $0.000001 ) :cheeky:

A small check on the manual , it states constant blowing of bulbs is caused by vibrations or poor earth connections. remedy by checking all bulb holders and ensure that they are properly secured and check earth return connections to frame.

hopes this helps. :goodluck:

No particular brand needed. U just need to noe what kind suits yr bike. Some are big, some are small, some r 1st hand, some r 2nd hand, some are plastic while some are metal. Some even have meters infused to the headlight; price ranging from $100 to $150 at Hamilton Rd.

Well bro, make yr choice.

eh u know what headlights are nice? i dunno how much they are but, i was at SSDC the other day, and i think the original headlights for the New CG125 Titans are quite nice. there black, n black goes with anything.

but then ah, no matter, if your headlights are stock or round, if u know how to mix and match accessories with your bike, it will still look good no matter what.
uniqueness is the Key idea, i think.

Guys,

I found out that if your RXK always have the tendency of blowing bulbs, it is caused by a faulty regulator.

It is under the seat and above the battery. Size is about 2cm x 4cm.

But i am sorry to said that this is a very limited item in sg... i was advised by the motorshop to go find myself.

i dont rely on my RPM dat much...maybe becos i dont have one!!!
usually i see my speedo but most of the time i jus change quite fast maybe bcos my gears are short.......

I upshift just before the 'sweet spot', and before the engine gets too noisy... somewhere around 4k rpm. This way I utilise the gears and also save petrol by not revving through the engine's power band.

Some people say 2-stroke bike muz high rev once in a while to 'clear carbon'... how true I don't know but if true then my bike's gonna get alot of carbon in the long run.

By the way, I would like to thank you guys for your advise in changing my carb (I used to clock 130++km for one full tank remember?). I just changed to a new carb and I'm running my first full tank. Now already 210km on my odo and still running!

BPOTR - i using 17 inch rims, but its ok la, today after work i haul ass to the mech shop to get it fixed. i dunno if i can make it at the gathering, but if i do also quite late ah. i'll pop by or something.

oh ok~

Anyways~ i wun be able to help much~ coz i got a 18inch tube~ (for my 18inch rims) :cheeky:

Do check your rims, could be internal rust that causes all the punctures~

hmm maybe, but i changed the tube already... i even brought the old tubing home, doesnt seems to have puncture innit, now im starting to think that the (i dunno whats it called) metal thing that lets the air in, gave way and hence the panchit.

but im not too sure. cus when i blew into the rubber and held it closed and tight, there was no air escaping, but when my bike was panchit, and i went a nearest shell and tried to pump air into, the tube didnt even fill up, air keeps escaping, yes from that metal thing stickin out.

makes no sense at all does it?
