    Hi Guys,

I somehow got soooo lucky on this one weekend that i got a chance to ride one of these babies, pls note im not used to riding bikes and in fact using a manual one at that too. but i got the hang of it while riding the, "ALL HAIL , speed triple".

im thinking of gettin one of these, it is a long term goal but plan to ride one by mid next year, so will need help and details from you guys. i learnt from the discussions that it is quite rare in spore, even rarer in msia.

mind telling whats the going rate for all the models at this point of time, new/second hand.

    thanks

In the first place, are you in Singapore or Malaysia?

Definitely not a problem. I don't know if there's an agent for Triumph in Malaysia, but the SG agent is Mah Pte Ltd. I don't think you should have problems getting a bike from them so long as u either pay up in full or you have a Singapore residential address.

I do have Malaysian friends who buy big bikes from Singapore dealers...

depending on what you need they may not be of much help!

hard to find triumphs in this part of the world, even more so in m'sia.

as for support from the local dealer i think you may have better luck sourcing for a mech elsewhere and be prepared to have parts shipped in to you for your service/repairs.

some of their parts are generic parts which are also used on other machines but there are quite a few specifics which you should consider stocking up if you really intend to keep the bike.

i have jets, gaskets, cdi and coils at home.

m'sian, living and working in s'pore for many years now.
let me know when you are in town and we maybe able to hook up or something...get all the triumph owners together as well maybe.
its gonna be tough to up keep the machine at home unless you use it as a second bike when you are awaiting spares from abroad.
arrange something arvinder and it will be the first triumph meet up in s'pore

MI:2 which gave the Speed Triple great publicity is back again.

In MI:3, Ethan Hunt was riding what looked like a 60s Thunderbird. peashooter exhausts, handlebar and just a side angled glimpse of the Tank badge confirmed that it is a Triumph.

Looks like MI series either prefers old brit brands or Triumph forked out a great deal for them to use their bikes again and again......

Count me in if there's a triumph meet up.

    Yahoo!

Sent my bike in to get the ContiAttacks fixed...

Taking the bike out on Friday...

    Yippee!!!

However, I forgot to ask about the manuals!

There was a yellow T595 in the shop with 24,000km on it... for servicing... not for sale... FR plate...

I believe you can order it directly from Triumph's Website...should not be a problem...But it should come with your bike, mine is neatly tucked under my seat...

bro, my friend using those tyres (on a scoot) doesn't seem to have good grip in dry weather and slides when going over metal grills...

on manuals, just get the haynes/clymer one. can check whitehorse press or directly from haynes.

i used to use mez4's on my super 3. lovely and stable both in dry and wet conditions. great for touring and twisties. now i use tourance's

Chow, if you're riding the white FBA S3, then I saw u on ECP twds Changi sometime last Friday night, close to midnight...

Anyway, Mah PL told me the dealer doesn't have the ContiAttacks my size in stock, and they can't give a date for the next shipment.

I might call them tomorrow and ask for Mich PilotSports instead, depending on the price.

I ordered the Haynes manual online from Jack Lilley for GBP19.99, excluding freight. I'm waiting for it to arrive.

Damn... I need to find a free day to clean my ride. It's super dirty!

Which exhaust system did you get? And are you going to remap your FI to suit the exhaust?

I'd have found it hard to come alongside you, given that at that moment I was a passenger in a van doing 70kmh!

being slightly bias...i would go for the triumph....
not sure about the costs of new bikes but trust me they are damn fun and reliable machines that will not fail to put a smile on your face when you ride them hard.

Be prepared to fork out at least $24k for a new machine.

I got mine for $13k with 2 years left on the COE and 9000km on the odo.

we need a S3 meet up, heck there are too few of us around, might as well do a triumph meet up...the issue is that there are some in the cruiser forum and some here, meet to consolidate the members and send out a note to all!

btw, we also should track our rides...i now seem to be taking corners a little faster than when i was doing so on my tiger!

Hey, I didn't know our bike was used in The Matrix? Must be more observant next time...

Anyway I agree with Ben... a Triumph meet-up would be veeery nice.

We just need a good time and place. After Hari Raya would be great with me, cos before then I'm kinda busy.

What bout the rest of you guys?

    Hi bro Fatt Ge

Your bike would really look nice and complete if you had the axle nut cover. I bought mine for $150 from Mah's. The rear wheel looks kinda plain without it lah.

Desewer: I have a suggestion...Maybe if you change your thread title to Triumph...it might just attract more Triumph riders in here...juz my 2 cents worth...

Hmm... good suggestion. I tried but can't seem to find out how to change the thread topic.

As for the axle nut cover, they won't have any in stock. I had to place an order and get it imported in.

He's using the 955i version lah... not the T5...

Anyway, I did some reading on the stunts pulled during the filming of the movie. I bought the DVD and watched the behind-the-scenes extras.

Most of the stunts were super-highly-coordinated and the bottom of the bike (wheels) is rarely seen because it's attached to a tow-bar. No way he could've pulled those stunts just like that!

Just changed my battery to a maintenance-free version, and also installed a switch to toggle low-beam and sidelights (positional lamps).

I find that the low-beam is a HUGE drain on my battery when I tested with a multimeter. I use just the sidelights for daytime riding.

Organise the meet mate, don't wait

nas, i got my mate to bring back a workshop service manual for me but i would like to take a look at yours as well.

btw, i have an extra air temp sensor if anyone needs one.

tied up with stuff not much riding on my end at the moment.

keep it till the right one comes along who can appreciate a triumph...there are too many bargain hunters out there who do not appreciate a marque. too bad for them!
