BTW, Phang (Griso), Roger (Griso & V7 stone) and I met for 1st time a couple of weeks ago.

we could have a little SGuzzista Gather again ... maybe a bigger one :-)

4 out of total 46 geese is 8.7%

A very healthy turn up for Guzzi IMHO

Mah's V7s are one generation back, before Miguel Galluzzi reworked the V7.

Loois PI'd a Stone (post-Galluzzi's rework) for Roger. Nice!

    On Travels and Guzzis workshops/shops:

Thought I'd share a little of my experience - just for fun:

    Malaysia - KL
If you're riding up to KL, pop in to the Guzzi boutique/showroom at Shah Alam. It's quite comprehensive as a boutique: Bikes, Parts, Merchandise. But if you have a pre 2012 bike like mine, you won't get parts for them. no service parts like gaskets for example.

They've got the std v7 range - Cafe Racer, Classic, Club, and a few rarer ones like the 90th Anniversary CalVin, a current Nevada750. Their best seller is the V7 Racer. They've a number of merchandise and accessories. Nice to look at, but you can generally get the stuff cheaper online. MY import tax is applied. Quite a friendly bunch of people.

    Australia - Perth:
Sometimes I wish Singapore had a company specializing in the Guzzi, but not like KL's. I prefer the hardcore Guzzi enthusiast's joint like Thunderbikes, Perth, Australia. The proprietor, Mario, runs a specialist - Guzzi-only workshop. Vintage to present. When Ewan McGregor did the California 1400 promo video shoot in Perth, Thunderbikes supported it a little. The place shop is seriously a biker's haunt. nuts, bolt, parts... definitely not a boutique. But stirs the soul if you are going to rebuild an older Guzzi. Mario will be a great help.

Do share what you know if you've been overseas and visited a guzzi workshop/shop. :-)

I think next post, I'll share on Guzzi Online shops. Do chip in please!

    Ride More Worry Less.
I'm loving the bike more and more each day. This morning on the way to office was greeted by a Caucasian rider on his Ducati DS1000. Told me he also has a 1972 V7 back at his home town and a Griso here in Sillypore.

To be able to see a Moto Guzzi on the road in this tiny Sillypore is difficult. But I had the chance to bump into another V7 (Stone white?) this morning at exit CTE tunnel into Havelock. Cheers mate. Nice tail u & blowers.

For Zard exos I asked Adventure On Wheels at IMM. They claim they can bring in and send for LTA inspection. Whether it's already approved or this will be the first time LTA seeing the Zard im not too sure.

I am referring to already approved by LTA that any guzzi owners using now. But no one?

I do not trust the dealer who claim they can get the exhaust approved as it is already street legal. I had a bad experience once.

    Hi Yammie,

Hmm.. think can be difficult. However, do you really think a Guzzi really needs exhaust mod here in this land? The stock sound is already pretty good IMHO. ;-)

    Yammie, Paikia

Phang's got a Zard on his Griso. Very nice tight tone. I think CRoger was considering one, but my memory fails me on the stage he's at to get one. All street and LTA legal.

    STealth
You're right about wondering if there is a need to replace the original can with an aftermarket. That the original already sounds good. The beauty about a Guzzi is that that's so true, unlike other bikes like Beemers and even Harleys.

The only difference for me is: Is the hundreds or thousands of dollars really worth spending, given that the stock product is already better than most stock on the road?! However, the difference is not like between Food Republic and a 5-star restaurant, but between a fancy cafe restaurant and 5-star restaurants. "Do I really need the difference given the $$ spent?" Fortunately, Guzzi owners only need to make those decisions because stock is already so good.

To each his own pleasure! !-)

For me a few reasons why I chose to fit aftermarket exhaust.
    Looks better - Yes
    Sound better - Yes
    Less restricted flow - Yes
    Less weight - Yes
But since MG is not well supported in this area I will hang on to the stock exhaust if I ever buy a guzzi haha..

I am holding on to my stock blowers as well for the time being... When idling the thumping sounds nice. But it's when it's on the go that I was rather disappointed. I like the sound of the exos thumping away when on the move. But whether the 1.5 grand spent on a pair of aftermarket would make much difference I am not sure since I havent hear it myself.

@whitepomfret bro... Roger's V7 Stone is with white tank? I bumped into one with modded rear fender and taillamps the other morning. Gave the rider a friendly thumbsup as well.

Love it in black n silver too.

    Not sure how much it is at Looi's. prob 7132 x 2 + COE/OTR & profits.

Yes, I've seen the original guzzi jackets but I feel they're not as tropicalised. You can see them in KL.

I modded a Triumph classic mesh - removed the leather triumph logo and back guard.

Stitched the black n silver Guzzi oval at the back. The vintage brass triumph buttons are subtle so they don't clash. Overall, a pretty good effect. But triumph jackets are nothing to shout about. Heavy mesh. If only Taichi or Komini designed a more classic styled mesh, I'm sure it'll be way more comfortable.

My main jacket is a goat skin leather jacket. Super light, very tropical, fold/rolls up real small. smaller than my mesh. I like it. and it doesn't show any brand. nice.

Yo bro, Guzzi Parts are not difficult to come by and relatively affordable or comparable to original parts from other makers. With the power of the internet and online stores, you can easily buy them. :-)

Default Guzzi-Eni (fka Agip) heavy gear and transmission oil

    Hi Guzzisti

I found the distributor for Eni (fka Agip) heavy transmission oils ROTRA / Truck 85W-140 made specifically for Guzzi transmissions by Eni. However, the minimum is one carton - too much for an individual. But if we pool, it's possible. I'm just wondering if anyone would be interested in trying it out.??

I know most of us use the generic gear oil up to 90 weight for most bikes. But reading the discussions on Wildgoose and Guzzitech, I'm quite convinced of the benefits of going along with what Guzzi recommends and formulated in partnership with Eni/Agip.
Given that, I'm wondering how many would be interested in trying it out. The distributor needs to sell by the carton - mainly to b2b to mechanics. I go to Ah Hock (Combined Motors - at Sin Ming). If there are enough people committed to try, I could tell Ah Hock.

The main question i'd like to poll is:

Would you like to try it out at about $25-28 per 1 litre bottle? (we mainly need about 1 litre for the gear and transmission.) Please share your views/interests. :-)

Any V7 stone special owner interested in a new hepco becker chrome rear rack can go to mtechnik to install. One ready piece there in stock.

I ordered one and not needing it. Price check with them. Cheaper than OEM.

    Parts buying Source: Indicator bulb

I was searching around for replacement orange indicator bulb bayonet-type but asymmetrically set pins. Search around the bike parts shops - Everfit, Chong Aik, Kin Tai, no one had. Then Kin Tai suggested I pop to the street behind them - Rowell Road, to a shop specially importing bulbs. That was an excellent tip. Spot on!

Found them from Lian Hoe Partners at Rowell Road. I had to hunt and ask around. They don't sell bike stuff, just car stuff, but realised that there are people asking for these little bulbs. They are importers of Narva bulbs.

Here are some pics below for your easy reference. Hope this is useful for some of you.

    Happy riding!

    Internet Purchase sharing:

I've been buying from a few online shops over the last few months. They've been a pleasure to work with. Why a few stores? Stock availability.

    1. Thunderbikes , Perth
    2. Stein-dinse, Germany
    3. Agostini, Mandello del Lario, neighbours of Guzzi's, Italy
    4. Gutsibits, UK

I'll share some more another time. My keyboard's stuck and the key typing response is uber sluggish. Darn frustrating.

    Hi Guzzisti!

If there are any owners of a v7 looking to upgrade to a larger Guzzi - specifically, another naked, the Breva v1100ie, do let me know. I might just consider downsizing. if all things work well, we can do a trade or work something out.

    Cheers!

    I also comtemplated a V7 classic for a while.
the posture, the look, the heritage, is everything that suits me.
but in the end, nothing available so now i end up with a bloody HD.

    sigh, thats life

Most of the Guzzi sold here in the past few years are V7 variants.

It is relatively easier to find a used V7 comparing to other guzzi models.

But we are talking about total population of 52 guzzi comparing to 1806 HD in 2013

    Got to be more patient
