I’ve just returned from the “Safety Talk”. To those who did not turn up, you guys missed a good thing. It was an eye opener to me. The fact that all the $6 million used for the safety publicity came from civilian sponsors was the biggest shocker to me.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank Mrlau, and his cronies, for organising this event. Not forgetting Simon, in case you are reading this, thank you for hosting us. The sincerity you guys show to make our roads a safer and better place to commute is inspiring.

May all your experiences on the road always be pleasant.

Just got back also, nice to see a healthy turnout! (although didn't manage to put a name to all the faces... )

Anyway a big thanks to those involved in organising this event, and hope all of us can start spreading the message of Road Safety through positive peer pressure!

jus a thought... do TP have a website promoting safety awareness to road users. if they do, maybe there should be a link (permanent one like those sponsers' one) in both this forum . this will make forum users aware of such a website. and hopefully with a few of those pictures shown today posted on the website, forum users will get the message of road safety.

really like to thank mrlau and the road safety branc of TPD for organizing and hosting this session. really learn a lot today.

cheers

From a brief conversation that Simon had with a few of us during the tea-break, I gathered that the Internet is still a grey area for the authorities, and there are certain restrictions if they want to engage us here...

But MrLau can act as the unofficial/semi-official proxy and we can have a special section.. maybe a sub-section under the Rally Point?

Thanks all for the supports, was not able to talk everyone of you on that day.

Also want to thanks to the TP officers has spend much effort to prepare for the event, including the food, drinks, etc.

This is the first time, we have chance talking so closely to the authority, sharing about what they have witness and handle everyday, all the real cases, video footage and photos we were never have chance to see as civilian. Nobody know road accident better than traffic police.

This is just the begining, road safety should be part of our culture.

Thanks to the members who had contribute much in the forum about the road safety awareness, especially to Spectrum, endlessloop, quicksilver, boofeng who help in organise this event.

If you have any good suggestion, feel free to contact me, I will consolidate and relay your messages to the officer in charge.

Currently, the Traffic Police is still study about some of our suggestions, one the the suggestion is to recognise helmets which certified undert SNEIL standard etc.

Once again, thanks and ride safely on the road.

would like to thank MrLau for making this possible.

also, let me clarify something.

some of you might have heard me saying to them(tp) that tp are craps. i would like to make myself clear. as much they have emphasize on road safety, look at what they are wearing, open-face and uniforms. to think their job requires much more protection than any of us. i suggested full-face and armored to them. simon replied that he will look into this suggestion. as much as i hate them for all the fines and points i've kindly donated to them, i do hope that they adopt my suggestion and take it seriously.

Great Job Mr Lau...
And the rest of the team that made the Saturday visit possible.

Definately a move forward for all of us.

Do feed back to Mr lau is u have any suggestion to
Traffic Police regarding road safety.

To our ASP Simon...
The man in charge of road safety in Spore.
(was unable to attend on Saturday due work)

I strongly feel that there is a urgent need
to impart street survival skill
to our younger riders (25yr & below)

Just getting our licience to ride is just the beginning.

frankly, he friend shouldn't be worried about getting his license revoked.

he instead should be thankful that he didn't cause any harm to himself or anybody.

and if he does gets his license revoked, be mature enough to accept it.

with all these reckless drivers on the roads nowadays, i think its high time we organise another dialogue session with the TP. getting very pissed off, esp with the verdict of the sin ming editor who killed someone and only get a 1 day jail sentence
u need to be young and reckless to become old and wise..... if u survive

Hello,

I'm Endlessloop. Some of you may know me from me and other like-minded volunteers who conduct the Hazard Oriented Visions (HOV) motorcycling safety clinic and workshop.
http://www.singaporebikes.com/forums...d.php?t=194551

We are much more than that. We are from the Singapore Motorcycling Chapter. We are a self-help group dedicated to motorcycling safety. Our group promotes, evangelise, educate, train and research on motorcycle safety. We are not a government organisation. We are all volunteers who are doing this to do our very little part to give back to society. But we work with the government such as the Traffic Police and the to-be-established Road Safety Council. We also have our own website www.rider.sg.

You might have also seen or heard about our other volunteers' work such as Spectrum, PPlater, S4^Dreamer, The Beast, etc. We each do our little part and together, we can make a giant wheel turn.

We are looking for volunteers who are selfless and looking contribute to the society. We are looking for people to help reach out to more riders and to do more for the motorcycling community.

Here are some roles that we need help on:
1) Evangelists

We would like to reach out and communicate more often with bike groups/communities.
As Liaison officers, you play the important role of being the bridge between motorcycling groups/communities and us. You update the groups/communities of our programs, and advice us on the needs, and also work out collaboration programs.
If you are already part of a motorcycling group/community, you can be the bridge for your group/community. You can also help us to reach out to other groups/communities.

2) Content Contributors

We are looking for people who can help us to research or produce more content related to motorcycling safety.

You can write, draw, use multimedia like video, audio or graphics, or use photography.

You can also help by doing research so we can advance the body of safety knowledge.

If you are interested please PM or email me at taylipsing@yahoo.com.
