    Hi everyone,

I just got a Suzuki Boulevard 400 from Loois.
Does anyone have the same bike?

I'm a complete noob to cruisers, so not sure what to do in terms of running-in and maintenance, especially since there's such a lot of chrome (both real and plastic) on the bike.

    Any advice? Thks!

So, you got that model, congratulations

Nope. I only saw one and it's a black one. I happen to see it outside Lim Ah Boy one Sunday afternoon

Hi, first off congratz on getting a nice bike like the boulevard 400, i saw it afew times at loois, very sweet.

Secondly does the bike comes with a bike manual to advise you on the servicing, oil change etc? If yes you should follow the manual, else you might wanna ask the Loois mech for some advice.

Usually what i know for running in is:

100km : first change of EO
500km : second change of EO
1000km : third change of EO
1800km : fourth change of EO
2800km : fifth change of EO

Subsequently: should be 5000km per change depending on your EO capacity.

    Thanks for the tips!
Haven't been riding for quite a while, so I'm still trying to get used to the weight of the bike.

Does anyone have a good recommendation for places to do a bit of customisation, like adding crash bars, floor boards, LED signal lights?

I have a different run-in chart as compare to zero_degrees. This was recommended by the Mah Pte Ltd's mechanic when I bought my Shadow Ace 400 from them.

Engine oil change as per follows:

    1st change - 1000km
    2nd change - 1000km
    3rd change - 1000km
    4th change - 3000km

From the 4th change onwards, every engine oil servicing is at 3000km interval using semi-synthetic oil. During the period of the first 3 engine oil change, a maximum speed not exceeding 90kph is recommended though I did it at 60kph instead as recommended by the manual.

Four wheels move the body. Two wheels move the soul.

Thanks everyone for sharing their tips on run in.

I've covered almost 500 km in a week, and still trying to find every excuse I have to go ride on it.

In my opinion, the bike looks better at night. Somewhat stealthy with the black paintjob, black frame and black rims. I like to think of it as a mini Yamaha Midnight Warrior.... now that's one cool bike.

The bike cost 14k OTR from Loois, 1st party insurance. The only freebie was a windshield though. I was actually looking for the larger capacity 800cc model found in the US and Europe, but no one in Singapore seems to have brought it in.

I'll try to take a pic of it later and post it.

Finally got my ass off the chair to take some pics of the bike.

So far the fuel consumption from running RON 98 is about 28-30 km/L.
Is this considered high or average?

That was on my second tank of gas, and I must say I was pretty gentle with the throttle.

Now to start with some mods on the bike...

    Thanks adriel!

At Loois, the Boulevard looked about as long as the Shadow Aero, and definitely shorter than the VTX1300, if that's any help in gauging the size.

There's a really sweet looking Steed in pearl white around my neighbourhood... if I could just ask the owner for a side-by-side pic...

I'd really love to join in the Friday meetups and see all the gorgeous bikes. Work, on the other hand, loves to interfere. Do you guys meet on the weekends as well?

I think the manual states that the tank is 17L.
My gut feel is that it's probably smaller than that since I fill up about 11L once the last fuel indicator bar starts flashing (there are 5 bars). I'm typical silli-porean kiasu

    Any advice? Thks!
Today, I saw 2 Boulevard and 2 shadows (the shadows look like new models) in Loois. Are those 400cc bikes??? They look huge. The Boulevard looks a bit like Harley Davidson VRod. More roadster than cruiser!

Power and torque outputs are surprisingly similar for both the Boulevard 400 and the Shadow 400. According to the Suzuki and Honda japanese websites, both put out 32bhp and 24lb.ft. There is, however, a difference in weight. The Shadow is lighter, at 231kg dry weight, whereas the Boulevard is slightly heavier at 240kg.

Both bikes are never gonna win any drag race with SuperFours or sportsbikes, but for city riding and relaxed cruising, my Boulevard 400 copes comfortably, although I sometimes wished it had a bit more top-end.

In terms of riding dynamics, the Boulevard is more of a muscle cruiser, with sports tires and a steeper rake. In the end, it's all about personal preference - the Shadow's looks are those of a traditional cruiser with wire wheels and lots of chrome; the Boulevard is a cross between a cruiser and a streetfighter, with more muscle, a blackened out gearbox and chassis, and two slashed pipes.

Kan, are you thinking of switching to a Class 2A cruiser?

Thanks got it, went down during lunch today, quite a number of bikes around the sports bike looks very tempting too, anyways had a look at the Suzuki B4, looks better in person than on pictures.

Will check out a few more plus some bros here who are letting go thier rides. Hope to join the Cruiser family soon.

So far the fuel consumption from running RON 98 is about 28-30 km/L.
Is this considered high or average?

For bike saddles, I was just wondering, do people go and open it and take things from it? Thinking of getting it but worried about this point, any bros care to shed some light.

    I always like this bike.
Owner only need to customise the rear section and upper control change, will give the "wow factor look".

Sorry I lazy to read all posting. How much is this bike OTR price ?
It cost $14,000 OTR from Loois.
