Maybe I kok eye ...still no info.
That website doesn't show the rates(or maybe I cannot find also).

Gimmi some time to dig out my info.

All I can remember is at least 2 days, n they charge by CC of the bike.
Meaning bigger CC bike = more expensive than smaller CC bike.

I think u go n ask the train station faster than I dig out my info.
Info only available from the postal office, if u dunno where, ask the ticketing counter, they'll tell u where is the postal office.
If I can remember, they close at 3:30pm.

Do bring along a pen n paper, no brochure, they read it off a chart.

There are a few major destinations, like KL n butterworth.
Ask for all prices for all CC of bikes.
    eg: how much for
    1) 400CC bike to KL / Butterworth
    2) 750CC bike to KL / Butterworth
    3) 1000CC bike to KL / Butterworth
    4) 1300CC bike to KL / Butterworth

    n stuffs like tat...u know...

The last time i heard from a friend is that from Butterworth to JB cost RM150. Tats a year ago. his is a malaysian bike. They will load your bike together with all the barang barang into the cargo compartment. But been adviced not to do so as the train movement will cause damage and scartches to your bike, or parts missing, as they are not responsible for all these.
If you have noticed this notice you will have noticed that this notice is not worth noticing

    Cool Bike Transport to Malaysia

Hi Guys, I am looking for a way to ship my bike from Singapore up to Penang so I can have a leisurely ride back down to Singapore.

Basically I have a one way air ticket Singapore to Penang I want to use up, so thought if I shipped th bike up to Penang the rest of my vacation trip would be the ride back down.

Does anyone have a contact for a good transport/man and a van company who will do this? Please PM or SMS me at 92367896

I think somemore sent his nighthawk 250 back to SG from Penang by train. You can try calling the train station to inquire. He mentioned $75 for a 250cc bike.

    Did u call my lim?

Now they ish charge $90+- liao from penang.

    Anyway Mr mcfc...

U can call KTM singapore for a qoute. Ask for the customs number
and tell them ur bike CC over phone, they onspot tell u price.

Fyi, My 250 cc send from spore to penang was $180+-
...so u can see the price difference.

Most save money method is ride to JB ktm and send.
But go there can kannar poked ...kidding

What about Ta Bao-ing the bike back from Malaysia?

    Anyone got infor on that?

I think it will be good to know in case of minor accident where the bike is damage, but we are not injuried and need to transport the bike back by train.

there are a few chaps who do cross border bike transporting esp for those trackers at Sepang.
I once had a friend who had a problem 30km from the Malaysia- Thai border.
Sent a recovery van from Sg to there and back cost S$900. Bike is Ymaha FZ1S.
    Up to KL = $450.
    This is in 2011.

Recovery guy is Hardy 82034401 but not sure if he is still in the business or here

    Hi Guys,

These are the last bit of info I have

-Now you can no longer send bike to the train station in woodland. Last stop in Johor.

-Jb train station is just next to city square and link by the overhead bridge.

-Take a few days (at the fastest speed) to reach Penang and Very often take a lot longer 8 days or so

-Unless you send kup kia, they likely cart your bike into a cargo truck bound for K.L and from there, train to Penang
(this could mean scratches and stuffs)

-They will tapow and wrap your bike for a small fee (with cardboard)

My last trip sending via train from Penang to Johor, they drop my bike seemingly
from the truck onto the floor I guess.

My windshield was broken, brake level gone, engine block air fins broken and leaking,
box scratch and lots of other damages. I was given a number to call KL, the supervisor.
    I did not call

Also while sending from Johor, when u enquire like I did, you may be qouted estimate 8 days,
so you time your arrival in Penang and happily go book all your following hotel (fully paid)
On actual day of sending you can be told take 2 weeks to arrive cos its dependent on their load on that day,
so do time urself base on luck haha...and be prepared for hotel fees to be sacrificed

My opinion, unless you have a old and cannot die easily bike like mine and do not mind the scratches
and possible screw up, or when u break down L L have to send, please dont. I have visited another courier service
in Penang and saw many kups being sent and wrap the same way onto trucks (its opposite victoria guesthouse).

I never have any such problem with the train in Thailand.

Woo... thanks for the information bro!

Do you have any idea on the transport "time" require for bike in Thailand? Example, from BKK to Hatyai or BKK to KL?
Kindly read thru at least the intro section first before decide to post any comments.... thanks...

Please proceed to this website/web link if you guys have any technical issues on Kawasaki Kips/KR150, I'll update the 1st POST as and when there's a new question. Newbies questions on the top as well.

Thailand still can roughly estimate but u are still bound to the cargo train if it has space on that day to load ur bike up
together with you on the same train. I have taken with and without my bike, I went later, pick up some other day.

Hatyai to KL? Never heard of direct. I last read must disembark somewhere. Also once it hit penang, they may likely
put urs up on trucks and send to KL for transfer.

Bkk to Hatyai you can refer to this webby for estimate, not sure if they've change the timing or schedule.
eg see hatyai bangkok here http://www.asia-discovery.com/Thaila...ins/hatyai.htm

The rest of the time schedule u can calculate from here
    http://www.asia-discovery.com/trainschedule.htm

Have you read this yet? http://www.seat61.com./Thailand.htm#.UV2ErzeMb3w

These are links i got when I last did some reading up, please ensure if its update as of today.

wow.. thanks bro! Will read them up!

*read finish per.. but.. kinda of sad that it's not really possible for bikes with person on train.. (the 3rd party venders said cannot)
(but got people done it before around 4 years ago.. but need more information)

But again, has anyone "tried" bringing their bikes on train from BKK to KL or butterworth?

    Thanks!

Hatyai train service stops at BKK and you will have to re load into another train to Chiangmai.

Now there is no longer bike cargo service from Hatyai to KL.

In the future, you could also consider Cargolution as a viable alternative. They have fair rates.
