    Hello fellow riders,

Do you guys & gals know of anyone or bike shop selling 2nd hand Fazer 6?
Really appreciate any info or contact you can provide.

    At the meantime, ride safe.

If its a Suzuki.. It may be the GSR 400 or GSR600. both have undertail exhuast and the head looks abit like the Honda S4.

A Hornet 900 has twin undertail pipes.

But since the TS has identified as Suzuki, so its a GSR. Either 400 or 600 coz both chassis are the same...

some people don't realise it's not max bhp that counts, but the way that it's delivered.

But end of the day it's down to personal preference.

Yah ..was told that parts were a problem in the past but has improved now .. just wanted 2 confirm this. Seems like an excellent value-for-money bike and has done very well in UK reviews ... but tends to come across as a ladies or beginner's bike. But you guys are right ... bottomline is whether u like it or not ... not what others say.

In case any ER6N riders/owners here:-

Fractures reported on Kawasaki ER6 frames
If you’re a Kawasaki ER-6 owner, walk outside and check the frame for cracks.A number of riders on the continent have experience the issue, but it has since emerged that a UK bike has suffered the same problem.

There are dedicated forums for this model, notably
    http://www.ninja650.com/phpbb/

where you can read about it. I doubt there are many owners of this bike who frequent SBF and I suspect there are less than twenty OTR here. There is a likelyhood that the Versys will out number the ER-6s OTR come February.

Doesn't this bike has the frame crack issue? Or they countermeasure it already?

Very few if any Big name manufacturers will admit to a design fault or manufacturing oversight. The only thing owners can do is inspect the problem joint often. If that happens here, I seriously doubt action taken if any is, will be effective. Only thing left is to monitor the model specific forums for positive feed back.
(I did read the MCN article, thats why I'm editing this post, pardon my rush to post).

Default Addon for the frame problem

    Garnished from the ER6 forum:

The frame problem is not on all the bikes, but the fault is the result of too much clearance between the frame mount and the engine and when there is over torqueing to close the gap. Owners are advised (not from kawasaki-mind you) to loosen the bolt and tighten to the reccomended torque and see if there is any clearance between the frame and the engine. If there is none, you should be safe, if there is, measure the gap and put a proper washer there. We shouldn't be making any excuses for kawasaki but this is a problem some owners will face.

    Cheers,

having ridden a litre sportbike for some time (5 yrs), i realised the futility of it all.

sure it has fantastic handling n acceleration. n it looks cool too. it also sounds great.

but i'm so frustrated by the fact that it's generally uncomfortable (go try a suzuki burgman for eg) n horrific on a hot day battling cbd traffic. even touring up north has me envious of my friends on upright bikes feeling no discomfort whatsoever.

there's also no provision for storage (sorry i absolutely refuse to install a box on such a bike) n i wear gear (armoured jacket, full-face), so i can't do any sort of shopping. even walking around is frustrating when carrying so much gear.

on the street, it sees 3k to 4k rpm most of the time. an rpm range most inefficient for its type of engine. no i'm not gonna ride at 5k to 8k rpm. i think it's insane, i would b trying to control so much engine power, it's noisy, it can go past 100kph accidentally, right up to 160kph, in the lower gears. insane, no? not to mention horrendous fc at dat range...

anyway, i've been looking around at a much more practical solution. immediately i could think of scooters, the super4, tdm 900 and now this... the kawasaki er-6n.

scooters r way underdeveloped compared to their motorcycle counterparts. c'mon... 200kg+ dry weight n a hp of 30 to 50? fc is especially bad... no class 2 scooter i know of can get upwards of 20km per litre. that's just unforgiveable. if they had a little more hp n much better fc, i'd b sold.

super4... great machine. power to weight ratio matching a subaru wrx. light, fast n nimble. a box doesn't look out of place. fc is not bad at 24km/l.

tdm. another machine wif great fc. wad class 2 bike do u know that gets 24km/l (n er-6n)? unfortunately, i'm a short chap, it's too tall for me. it's also a little too large for tight traffic.

now the er-6n. wad a fantastic bike! wif it's parallel twin configuration, it gets 70hp n incredible fc for dat... it matches the super4 for fc! now we know that fuel prices r in no way coming down... my 16km/l sportbike is a really thirsty beast... fc will b important in times ahead.

wif its power to weight ratio, i'm confident to say dat on paper, it's gonna trash any metal box off the lights... wrx, merc cabs, hyundai cabs, what hv u (lambos not counted). for us motorcyclists i think dis is very important so dat we can get out of the way quickly.

so... the er-6n appears to tick all the right boxes.

    1. good power to weight ratio. touring up north at 140kph should b fine.
    2. a box doesn't look out of place (much).
    3. comfortable ergos.
    4. small n nimble for fighting traffic congestion.
    5. among the best fc for current technology (cubs not counted, they've got less than 20hp, touring wif them might prove frustrating)
    6. rear tyre is 160 in width, just like a super4. much cheaper than a 190!
    7. 15.5l tank. it's rather small, so dis is a disadvantage.

i'm surprised dis bike isn't more popular! to me it totally overshadows the super4! but of cos u'll need a class 2 to ride it.

wif regards to the frame problem, i've heard dat the installation of a spacer on the engine mounting point in question resolves it (assuming it hasn't already cracked). some owners overseas (usa, uk) had their frames replaced by kawasaki (go find the kawasaki specific forums, somewhere in dis thread).

oh n y not fazers n hornets? inline 4 = revvy engines = bad fc. same problem, u can't use the meat of the power most of the time. even dat neutered cbf1000 gets bad fc. i like inline 4s... but they're too inefficient for now.

    Hi friends
I just tried riding one within an industrial park last weekend. It really suprised me
because it accerated like a crazy horse in first 3 gears and it can wheelie easily. Owing to its light weight,it is very easy to ride around town especially in heavy traffic condition. It's a real fun bike and it's cheap to buy.

    Cheers

You are right. A really great bike but just one issue - too few on the road so parts may be an issue.

Agreed cheeko ... decided against it. Furthermore the frame issue spoils things. Not nice 2 buy a new bike knowing there is a manuf. issue and wondering when it can give problems. Sad .. cos everyone who reviewed it found it fantastic. I got a Ducati instead.

well...as of present ER6-N is being decided to CKD to Kawasaki Malaysia.
but Ironically, it seems that Loois and that stupid local distributor (sick of even mentioning the name) didnt bring in anymore brand new ER6Ns.

well, good news is that a fren and I have tried Kawa Malaysia on the spare parts. Verdict-- very good. They give a guranteed exact price, then ETA delivery time 3 weeks, but they called after 1 week saying the parts arrived.

Set back is that we need to go there to collect. then, we only know HQ is at KL. Soon we learned that there is another big dealer of Kawa spare parts in JB Senai. (anyone know of the place, please supply address)

present situation make me more confident of getting a kawasaki now.
They have superb bikes...only the local support is a disappointment and killed these beautiful bikes.

oh yah, talking about me being interested in the kawa, i am eyeing a 2nd hand ER6N at Loois. Was quoted 9k everything in except insurance. 2.5year-old, 40k on the clock, and everything stock.

guys...i need advice...is that an ok deal? i m intending to trade in my CB750.

OTR price with 1st party for was ard 14k+ in 2006. 40k Mileage a bit above average. ER6N is very well received in Malaysia and Europe. Spares shld be no problem.Be prepare to keep the ride as medium weight bike got poor resale value locally . 2009 model also comiing out check it out at Motorcycle daily

There will be free afternoon buffet brunch and Special Kawasaki Jetski trailouts for us Kawa riders. Venue will be the Marina Country Club.

Interested riders can just leave their names/Nicks - prefered date and time and contacts. I'll contact them to set up the buffet and location for us. This is the first time Evershine is trying to reward us for supporting kawa and hopefully helping us set up a club for future sponsored outings like this one.

Event : Kawasaki Rider Meet up with Jetski Trailout.
    Date : TBC (best Weekends)
    Location : Marina Country Club.
Gathering place : KKFC or any suggested place to ride over as a group.

    hi guys,
    especially 2 u bother Brembo...

I juz grab the 2nd hand ER6n at Loois for 9k somewhere in nov (tink tis is the bike Brembo talks about)...It gives good bike handling n manoeuvre. Not a fast performing bike but a good cruising machine. The disadvantage of the bike is that the engine is easily heated up when travelling short distance with heavy traffics. Anyway, it provides good posture, which of course does not gives me any backache..NO REGRET...SORRY BREMBO try for the 2009 model..and send us ur feedback..
