    might be... at the moment. maybe a few weeks after its debut, got black?
    last time drz got only yellow.
    then come out black, blue, white...........
    we'll just have to wait.

    guys..

    recently i've been readin abt the wr250x in supermotojunkie and it looks like the bike is a blast.. so in love wif the bike now..

    but the biggest prob to date now is from wat i noe the price without insurance is 15k.. and tat is way WAYYYYYY overpriced.. the wr250x is retailin for less then 10k sgd in the us and japan.. i'd like hong leong to noe 5k diff is rubbish and foolish..

    currently the drz is like 13k.. and is oredi dominatin the market.. how is anyone goin to buy a bike tat has 150cc less and costs 2k more.. crazy la..

    Machine price of the bike in japan is ard 9.7k. Its a new bike of cos it will be higher. DRZ400 SM is a repackaging of DRZ400 S. I still remember when DRZ400 E model first cam out selling at 14.5 k on the road. As time goes by this model of bike is getting cheaper because they had cover the cost of R&D.

    Its been a few years that japan had not roll out any new street legal scrambler, until the introduction of Tricker and XT250X, and this brand new WR250R and X.

    heard from a fren tat the wr250x is goin for 12.5k machine at alexandra.. but i've kinda given up the idea of gettin one becos simply cant afford another bike..

    and i'm waitin for the jap manufacturers to come out wif 450 motards.. heh heh heh.. now TAT shld be crazy to ride..

    wr250x is CONFIRM faster den DRZ lol... and lesser fuel consumtion... and hup hin motor @ bukit merah lane is selling it at 13 - 14k if i nt wrong insurance included =D

    Wr250x = 90+mph
    DRZ400S = 80+mph... read if from da web =D

    perhaps higher top speed due to the additional one more overdrive gear.. (wr250x has 6 gears while the drz has 5).. but i believe the drz has more power n torque..

    from wat i read in supermotojunkie forum.. after comparin the 2 bikes.. the WR has better handling.. and to me.. realli nice stylin..

    the FC seems to be pretty good (from thumper forum)

    claimed to have abt 65+ mpg on the road...

    which converts to abt 27km/l on road

    but not much low end... so it's better to ride it like a 2-stroke....

    today i went to view da WR250X.. at bukit merah... its really cool.. and i love drz too.. but when da mech told me all da drz has da same problem... which is da GEAR SHAFT CRACKS! and very hard to find in singapore gotta order... which turns me off and nw looking at WR250X instead LOL!!!!... yeah its kinda overpriced... gotta get it SOON after i get my class 2A lol...

    WR250F

    05' and 06' are same model (steel frame)
    07' and 08' are same model (alloy frame)

    What we see on sg roads are the 05/06 model, and indeed they are rare.

    You claimed that the 08' WR250F is LTA approved. What's your source?

    diff a lot?orany new models coming out soon?

    This is the exact same thing I am considering right now...

    According to the info I gathered so far... the price diff is abt $2K+- (for stock new bikes)

    Basically here are the things that are different... FYI... all the information below are from the Internet... so pls don't flame me for incorrect info

    0. WR 250cc........ DRZ 400cc
    1. WR at 15K+...... DRZ at 13K
    2. WR with EFI...... DRZ with carb
    3. WR with alu frame...... DRZ with steel frame
    4. WR with 30- horse...... DRZ with 40- horse

    I guess the major attraction is the EFI...

    To my understanding...
    EFI -> similar to cars... much less maintenance I believe (at least compared to my KTM 2 )
    EFI -> self correct air/fuel ratio due to the atmospheric effects... of course if optimized, the weather will affect visibily (knocking and all that)
    EFI -> easier to tune (if software and manual are readily available)

    and since the new R1 is using the EFI system too, I believe it works fine on the WR-X

    $2000 for a new tech? It's really very personal

    Hmmm... as an owner of 2 DRZ 400SMs which spend half of their time being raced around on race tracks... a 2006 with 13,000 plus km and a 2007 with 16,000 km on them.... what crack are we talking about here??

    No such mentioned of this "gear shaft" cracks mentioned in Thumpertalk which is a forum hosting owners of DRZs here in the USA... and there are even more DRZs here than Singapore.

    Did the mech show you a heap of cracked gearshafts from DRZs?? Or just talk only?

    Don't get me wrong, a 250 in the hands of a skilled rider, can run circles around the 400s on the race track. Seen alot of that happening here on the race tracks. Note the 2 keywords here... skilled rider and race track. And I would get a 250 if I am a hardcore track addict, worth spending the money then.

    But if I am using the bike for commuting most of the time.. and have to spend that amount of money to ride a street legal supermotard with a Class 2A licence.... I'd take a DRZ400SM any day... simply because I am getting more bang for the buck.

    chill bro angelo.. diz guy is still a newbie wif his 2b.. has not fully understand da world of bikes yet n prone to be gullible to da wordz of da "ALL-KNOWLEDGEABLE" mechs..

    drz has been proven da toughest n durable engine.. da bike has been da same since yr 2000 up till now.. n its still sellin worldwide.. no complaints of da bike falling apart n parts are scarce.. da bike has been arnd fer 8 yrs.. so watz der to talk abt da reliability n parts support fer diz bike..?

    i nvr deny da fact dat da new efi 250 is a better bike.. but i`d rather fully utilise my 2a license n ride a 400.. n i dun ride da track on a daily/weekly basis.. itz more of a daily transport.. so a 400 shud suffice a mthly track go-er wif enuff power on bof track n rd.. sum mite make diz an only track bike as dey got a 2nd bike.. but i`d rather spend dat 16k on a 2nd hand 510 or 525.. well.. fer diff ppl dey got diff views.. diz iz mine.. =)

    dunno... he showed me da guy hu came wif his drz towed.. da gears all chipped and da smaller 1 crack into pieces... den da guy riding da bike said it was da 2nd time da same thing crack...

    a big gear from da engine and a small long 1... i dunno izzit da gear shaft or not.. but its confirm a gear lol... maybe its da guy only bah... well i'm still learning to repair bikes so i wouldn't noe much either..

    dunno which bike to get either.. drz or wr... hopes wr prices drop.. its really overpriced!

    if you think i'm throwing smoke bomb, so be it. go ask HL if it makes you happy.

    anyway, even if it's homologated, i doubt you will even buy it.

    80% of the 250Fs are usually exported out even after homologation, not too sure about 250X as it's a new bike.

    just ringed hong leong about 10 mins ago...

    Yes the WR-X is on the road already.... OTR price WITHOUT insurance = 15.3K...

    But comes only in BLUE (I am not sure whether it's the blue/white combi or the blue/black combi)

    juz found out hong leong is onli bringin in the blue one.. like wat the heck lor.. dun even have a choice of color now.. i wan the black one..

    hi,ninjalite! my advice is to try 2 get a ktm 200 then! lighter with enough power n good enough suspension 2 do the jumps at tuas. xr 4oo can jump but u might have to do some work on the suspension same goods 4 drz. ktm 400 good suspension but more powerful.

    bikes can be view at dirt wheel,tampines. all the above mentioned bikes have used 1s in stock.
