i at least warm up every 3 days. just in case..

    i got a good question for long-time x9 riders.

do any of you have to change magnetic coil barely a year?

what is the normal usage (as in life span)?

Wash in the sense of tear apart all the things.(like clutch, he take out all parts and clean. not blow only)

i change 2 times and he did that too, except he was busy at that time, he serviced that later. It's rare that u will find a mechanic that will ever service this 'problematic' thing. That's why I always go back to him for a year and a half liao

u know when ur batt is dead means towing. of course i dont think i will risk that.

nope head unit cannot direct connect to batt....... even my voltmeter is not too..........

alright anyway this is considered a 'red-plate' bike to me, and i do warm up regularly. shouldnt be a problem

If what i have posted is not the fact and trying to bluff/advertise for WM. Do check around with those who did the servicing and saw the whole process of cleaning and washing. Price wise i have stated the diff and what kind of service you get.

Every shop have its own supporter. I do support WM and those shop @ kallang. Inside my post i have stated clearly where i do repair and where to MOD the bike.

God gave us eyes to see and brain to think. Please, if time allow you, just sit down there and see for yourself.

If in doubt, please do seek second opinion from other shop.

Echo i think its kinda bad that awhile u posted he din wash and suddenly u said that he serviced that later and say its rare to find such a mechanic and u were telling soundless not to mislead others. isnt this even more confusing? besides if u were not comfortable at WM why are u spending money there doing up ur bike? u really get me confused le ?

I wish to apologise to botak at wonderful motors, due to my remark, has seriously caused alot of inconveniences and doubts about his reliability and working ability.

he is one of the best mechanic which i have mentioned before so many times, especially in the skipper and x9 thread, but because of a mis-communication, i have wrongly give remarks that have affected him.

i sincerely apologise to him and this misunderstanding has been checked, cleared and closed.

btw Happy CNY to all the x9ers

    Default Thailand ride

Hi, Kenny. Thailand ride. Sounds interesting.

Have 'pencil' on calendar. nowadays...for me getting away alone on bike ride is a luxury.

For smaller cc and single cylinder bike, not necessary for voltage stabiliser.
You probably won't feel the difference.

Just ensure that you don't over use/strain your batt.
I normally change mine at 1.5yrs.

What kind of Oil Filter X9 using? Is it standard size for all scooters?

    Thanks
The problem is not you can afford it or not, is how are you going to make yourself able to afford it.

The normal usage is about 2.5 - 3.5 years.
Water pump wear and tear with late discover may also cause magnetic and coil to give way early

There's a few type on the market, of course prices make the different.

The original one got Piaggio logo on it.

If you interested, i got a friend of my have a very new X9 200. He seldom ride as he need to go oversea business often. Mileage should be about 10,000km. Let me know if you are keen, he may want to sell it but the price must be reasonable.

For me i think the maintenence of the bike is more important, anyway the actual mileage may not be 60k too (reason the meter might be change. My X9 FX plate already go 1 round of the meter which is more than 100k, as long as you take good care of the bike i dun think you will face much problem.

Common issue for a scooter more than 5 years>
    1. steering cone
    2. Engine mounting
    3. coolant pump
    4. magneto and magneto coil
    5. suspension
    6. starter carbon

this might be too much for you, if you interested to find out more, i can try my best to explain to you on the phone or with my bike, cheers.

Thx for a detailed reply , i think need some time to digest all these items..I tested one x9 recently, t feeling is ok. i heard from friends before say scooter pick up quite strong and on the road i do see some scooter shoot out very fast, but that one i try not as strong as i expect leh, it only start to move off slowly when engine rpm reach 4 to 5k, is it normal? or maybe due to i didn't wack the throttle a lot as i rider a s4 before that so not use to open wide?

I cant really give you informations if i never look at the bike as it might mislead you.

But pls understand, a bike which had riding for a few years may not be as good as new le.

Default Promoting a new scooter thread!

Hey guys! Due to very little response from this new thread. I would like to invite all of you guys to make some noise and check out if there are any events upcoming in our Singapore Tuas circuit. Most importantly this new thread will also serve as a place for all of us to talk about anything that relates to racing, techniques, brakings, taking a corner...etc etc.

The scooter scene is still very small in Tuas unlike the Yamaha cubs. So i would like to promote this new thread for some of you guys here whom always wanted to know more about scooter racing and also where and when to watch. The upcoming race will be on 1st of March and it's open category.

If you are interested, you can post some of your enquiries. Our guys here are very friendly and willingly to reply your post.

Your support will be much appreciated.

To access the Batt is very easy.

    1. You will need to remove the 2 screw behind the cover of 3th brake light(located @ behind the seat)

    2. Next push/slide the cover up with little force.

    Tada you see the battery.

**If above step does not work for you. you will need to remove your box, box rack cover and remove the 2 big screw holding the cover inside.

sensor checked by ah seng....even change new one also not moving....but then...when i remove my batt terminal and reconnect back, all 4 meters will show signs of movement, by goin to the max and return back, and that my fuel gauge is not showing true value of my tank, when its pointing to empty, actual fact i can go from woodlands to jurong and back with the needle still at empty, when i top it up, i juz manage to pump in 10L nia...i'm suspecting its my digital meter causing this symptoms, but no luck in finding one working DM to test out my suspicions....

    Cheers!
