[Info] In case of breakdown in Malaysia / Thailand

Hi tourers, was wondering what numbers to call in the event of bike breakdown, mishap in thailand. Anyone got a compilation of numbers of companies providing tow services in thailand? Advice needed. Any such thread in existance here? No hits on search.

In the event of bike needed to tow back to SGP, you can try looking for any of the passenger vans provided the height of the bike is not high (e.g R1, CBR900s etc). They can modify & remove the seats to allow the bike in.

But then the price to pay can be quite ex.

You can look for Eric Yeo. A friendly Singaporean guy who owns a Harley service workshop @ Phuket. My friend bike broke down during the trip to thailand & we manage to have his help to solve the bike problem.

Any idea wad is ur bike breakdown in malaysia while riding halfway.... i heard that the toll only bring you to the nearest petrol station... wad to do after that ?

Plus highway patrol only tow cars since they are paying customers. Bikers pay themself to be toll. That what malaysian bikers said.

i dun get wad u mean by bikers pay themselves to be toll... u mean if bikes have to be toll we cant find plus highway toll ?

Just call a Singapore tow truck no. They will get their Malaysian counterpart to tow your bike to the 1st or 2nd link checkpt. From there, the Singapore tow truck will then transport your bike to the workshop of your choice. Got to pay and pay.

If the distance is not too far, say before KL, the Singapore tow truck may even drive up all the way to Malaysia and tow your bike back. Once on a trip 1 year ago, the Singapore Bike Ambulance went all the way to Ipoh and tow the bike back to Singapore.

A cheaper alternative is to get the Malaysian tow truck to tow it to the nearest town KTM railway station. From there, ship your bike back to Singapore by rail. Then, get your Singapore tow truck to tow it to your workshop.

Whatever it is, if your bike breaks down it is an expensive affair.....$$$$$$$$$ So, before you go, try to make sure your bike is in tip top condition. Hope my explanation helps...

Finally if you are stucked not too far away and you are with other bikers, one way is to get your friend to tow or 'push' your bike to the checkpt.

During the recent bike festival held near kallang leisure mall, one of towing company call bikebulance had a towing truck there. The head of the team say that they offer towing service from Malaysia to Singapore. The cost is rather stiff and it best to prepare your bike before you travel up North.

In the event that there is a breakdown, try to tow it to a nearby shop for repair, it will be very much cheaper for you if you can get it done.

In case you are really struck there, call bikebulance : (65) 64255333, they operate 24 hours service. They will either send one of their truck up or they will contact their counterpart to tow your bike.

If in the event that they use their Singapore truck, the basic cost will be $300(fixed, is to pay for the Malaysian custom). Then for every km travel in Malaysia they will charge $1.

That said, the min cost to tow from Melaka will be $300+ the distance from Singapore to Melaka and back, ie more then $500.

So make sure you do up your bike well before venturing up.

even ur bike is breakdown in GP once their van pass custom they still charge u at $300...So try to make ur way beyond Sin custom the rate is $35..

Isnt it a better idea to get back to Spore, get a van, drive back to bike and bring the bike yourself?

I cannot imagine getting stuck further up north, how?
Esp with some internal damage and if your bike is a not a run of the mill model then how?? omg...........

That the mininium market rate for towing from Malaysia(JB) to Singapore. If so near at Larkin, ask a friend, using a rope to pull. Tow to causeway and then call for towing service at the custom. This is much cheaper.

hahahah.....did dat the other night...it was last week saturday actually.....i went to JB wif climbing ropes thick enuf....pulled his vespa behind my bike.....lol....along the way got a malaysia ROAD-BLOCK....heheheh.....they stopped all motorbikes.....hmmm....they having a REMPIT operation....lol.....i towed and pull his bike thru customs.....and all the way to AJ scooters at UBI.....what a night....reach in til UBI at 12.45am.....lol quite a night!!

Hi all, I like to share an experience just recently in NSHW.We were heading to betong and @ Melaka 2 bikes breakdown.One Super4 tyre puncture (the hole is as big as a 20 cent coins and another bike (transalp) all lights gone.
We were like an ants on the pots and I remember in the ST forum that they also ever had some problems in NSHW.They managed to get some help from a bike shop.Lucky I have save his number on my HP and called him, he responded to our call and took 2 hours to came down from Kajang - KL.We called him @ 6am but we stuck from 2am actually.We were charged by him reasonably.Good service I would said.FYI,He was sharing with me that "big bike" shop is limited...only one in this few area.Nila,Semenyih,Melaka,KL and ipoh.

Our bike is back on NSHW by 12pm and heading towards betong - Thailand.

Disclaimer: I just feel that I should post this as we might need it oneday when we are travelling along NSHW.I do not earn anything from it.

Guys i have tried Towbroz @ 90608860. They do towing to sepang, PG and have covered two wheelers bikefest from Singapore to Phuket. Their Prices are slightly better than Bike bulance and actually faster response. I ever Broke Down in Sungai Buloh and them came down within 4 hrs... Brought back my bike to shop. They use a bigger van and able to take up to 4 big bikes. Custom van for Towing Only.

hi....i'm a core tourer..just using FBE FZ150i,but almost reaching 72000km in almost 2 years..i'm studying in KL...if any of u got prob 60km radius from KL,thn u may contact me...i may guide wat 2 do as i know KL like d locals....alot of big bike shops in KL,i may help how 2 search d nearest shop...
KL-Melaka-s'pore route is vry2 norm fr me...had been riding more than 100x fr dat route...so far,no prob occurs except last week whrby my rear tyre got punctured cz of 4 nails nearby bukit kayu hitam whn i'm otw 2 Hatyai fr holiday(not for ride,for holiday...hehehe)
i guess most of u guys will be amazed how i can manage 2 ride 150cc bike 2 travel 72000km...hehhe

my last ride was my 7 days holiday last week= KL-Cameron-Taiping(perak)-Pendang(60km to thai)-Hatyai&Songkhla-Pendang-Taiping-Lumut(nearby Pangkor island)-KL-Melaka-Spore....total distance covered ard 2200km...hehhehee
