    its definitely beta than local's.

eh, to what I remember, its either 100, 110, 120 & max 130mm, depending on how you mount.
well, best is, purchase for LAB(new set), go to their workshop & instruct the mech as you want lo, not nice then DIY again?

cos i remember, there shld hv a bracket need to drill hole to fit the 2 side mounting hole. if not gona move the signals.

neway, there's tons of ideas to mount la.

yes you can fix on the sideboxes without shifting the lights, but the sideboxes would be placed very far in front... the pillion's feet would be shifted forward too... I hit my pillion's feet all the time because of this...

and if she wears something pointy and sharp...

yea definitely the first picture / patrick's hardware... looks hardcore enough...

nooo they won't have anything that looks like your e21's bracket... they have common brackets for general purposes... usually a piece of steel with 4 holes. you have to enter the store and have a look... usually they are cable tied on a cardboard display suspended in the middle of the shop, behind the non-cashier counter...

they would have straight brackets, L-shaped brackets and variants...

    try again ok?

is it the one with tonnes of decorative lighting which u can see from outside maha bodhi school??? if thats the one they closed at around 8+...cuz that was the time when i went there and it was still open...
Go as far as you can see; when you get there, you'll be able to see farther.

    possible to show some peektures?

    NPNT ah...

neway, E21 shldnt leak as its open from top..
even the whole lock mechanism is out frm the inner compartment.
unlike E41s that I'd posted before, because of our bike park nature to the left, water will seep in frm the lock latch mechanism.

Hey joe , paiseh just now i left my HP inside the main box while they fixing my signal light so never noticed u tried to contact me hahaha , yea that hardware shop is really amazing , lucky kev and vidak recommend lol .

    The $45:
$20 - planet labour charge for shifting the signal lights , though it was stated $10 at the repair thread , dunno why the discrepancy...
$6 - for 4 longer screws for my rack , old ones were 7.8cm which were too short , so had to buy 8.5cm from Ang as recommended by Kev . (will post some pics on them)
    $5 for a bottle of WD40
$6 - for 2 L-shaped brackets from the Patricks Hardware shop and
$1.50 for size 13 spanner ( that is used for the phantom and box rack)
$1.20 for 8 washers , also bought from the Pat's hardware shop.

then $5 is for petrol for 3 days of running around , but now have to go buy the silicone also...

yo ckoonyin, yea will take some pics and post tmr evening , today keep raining i also sianz to go down to bike hahaha

before doing that, i will advise tracing the source of the leak. my e21s does not leak even under heavy rain, riding or stationary.

neither i heard of anyone's e21 leaking thus far.

a very simple wiring diagram for you:

live terminal of the battery > separate fuse > switch > LED > ground / neutral terminal of the battery

remove your seat, the battery would be exposed.

you would need cable ties and black tape to organise the wiring... these two are your best friends from now onwards...

all these materials can be found in bigger hardware shops or sim lim tower

    so what you need:

lots of wires (maybe those $0.60 per meter ones would be enough for LED)
    cable ties
    black tapes
wire lugs (of various types, to connect to switches, battery, and to connect between wires)
    fuse (10A or 15A)
    fuse holder
    switch
    your LED

if you need to reply to this post... quote it and reply on the chit chat thread instead since we are getting off topic here!

    enjoy your first mission

Things to do to fix on 2nd-hand side-box:

The first thing is equipment list, you will need:
-Sideboxes, rack and 4 brackets. Refer to "rackside" picture for rack/brackets.
Check with your seller if his riding cruiser style bikes, if he is , chances are the rack+brackets should suit your phantom.
-1 x Size 13 spanner to remove/install the rack screws.
-1 x 6mm Allen Key to also remove/install the rack screws
    -8 washers , 4 on each side , 2 for each screw
-2 "L" brackets for the signal lights. Check with Planet if they want you to get your own or if they have stock.
-4 screws for the rack. This is needed ONLY IF your original screws are not long enough to accomodate the extra bracket width. For example , my old screws were 7.8cm and they were too short. I had to get 8.5cm screws.

    Procedure:

#1) Make your way to planet and ask chong that you want to shift signal lights. If chong say he got , then lucky you. If not , refer to #2. It took 1 hour for the mech to shift the signal lights and it costs $20.
    Directions to Planet : http://www.rednano.sg/sfe/allsearch....ystring=planet

#2) Make your way to Patrick Hardware. Purchase size 13 spanner ($1.50) , 8 washers ($1.20) and the 2 L-brackets if chong told you to. I bought them $6 for 2 pieces , but too long so planet mech had to cut them , you should get a shorter bracket , it will cost lesser too. The holes are too small , but the holes are fixed diameter , so just get the bike mech to drill them. I brought along my own 6mm allen key , buy if you dont have it.
Refer to "Signal lights" picture to see the "L" brackets.
Directions to Patrick Hardware : http://www.rednano.sg/sfe/map.action...ngapore+400302

#3) Along the same road , just 1 min down, you will see Ang Hoe Seng Hardware. Buy the 4 screws here if your original ones dont fit. They cost me $6 for 4pcs x 8.5cm screws. Remember to remove your own rack beforehand to check the length you need !
Directions to Ang Hoe Seng : http://www.rednano.sg/sfe/allsearch....g=ang+hoe+seng

#4) Finally proceed back to Planet , get the mech to shift the signal lights , and install the racks yourself. I am not sure how much chong will charge you if you ask him to install the racks for you. Btw , the mech who helped me was the tall china guy , so you might want to look for him next time since he is "experienced" with shifting signal lights. My own DIY took me 2 hours because my screws could not go in and it took me 1hr+ trying to think of ways ! then i finally found out the nut is actually located on the inside of the rear fender , which you can see if you view from the bottom , must try to push up/down the fender to get the screw to be inline with the nut. After i found this out , i managed to screw in within 5 mins lol.

Phew , finally done lol. 1 more thing is , the boxes are protruding but are not as wide as the handlebar nor mirrors , so its quite safe. Refer to "bikefront" picture to see it! I also kiasu went to measure lol , the box edge-edge length is 80cm and the mirror edge to edge is 86cm , so you got 3cm clearance on each side. As long as your mirrors clear , there should be no problem weaving in traffic. But still , take things slow yea , slow and steady = cool-looking

Ok enough typing , check out the pics !

i went down to LAB the other day, they had 2 brands of side boxes. One is the Givi E21 i think, going for 180 with installation. I saw another sidebox (looks super cheapo) going for only 120. I prefer the givi, but its so damn ex.. =( Anyone using the cheaper one?? Good?

yea...just got mine done @ LAB for $180.

U should see the amount of abuse that the GIVI side boxes can take.

u can ask pureice and razali how did their boxes helped save their skin and yet the damage sustained on the boxes i would say is pretty minor.

Haha bro, you confusing him lah! He's considering between Givi and a cheapo brand for side box! Haha... The reason why I'd chosen Givi side boxes over saddle bags is bcos of the waterproof problem. I've checked around and many of the the saddle bags have waterproof problems.

er... yea.. but than i still feel the givi better leh even thou i using saddle, haha... if u wan cosmetic go for saddle if u wan practical go for e21 since can remove, its ezier to clean ur bike, i kno there's removable saddle bag in the market but not sure about their price... but since he deciding either cheapo box or e21, go e21... dun poison him la ben, later he more confuse haha
