    Quite cute some of you.

Can i write in to Maranello side and ask them to reduce the price of Ferrari sold here in SG to slightly more expensive than a 1.8L Civic?

Didn't know can write in to feedback about pricing.

    Maybe someone already did....

But then, not to the extend of comparisons between >3L to 1.8L

Might as well. Since not the Beemer, I will slowly fully accessorize it. As for the colour, have to wait and see since the 2011 colour schemes are not out yet...

Default 5000 SGD registration fee for self imported bike

That's the amount PML will charge on your self imported bike.
I wanted to import my bike, I won't

Who will do the maintenance if you buy your S1000RR via Lois?

What about the constructor warranty if you don't buy in a bwm garage

all s1000rr have a rpm lock at 9000 rpm during the running in period..
only way to remove the rpm lock is thru PML via the diagnostic machine.
i wonder if looi's bike has the rpm lock..
    and if so..
how do the owners remove it after the initial running in period?
and there is a recall for the side stand switch on the s1000rr..
has the bike gone thru a recall?

How much you get for PB is not cast in stone. You can work your arse off and if you are at loggerheads with management, you still get minimum. I know of people who carry balls, wayang a lot and do very little work but still get high PB...

It's a nice bike but my experience at PML today left me very disappointed.

Headed down to Alexandra just to view the bike but was informed, the bike section is located at Bukit Timah so there I went.

Showroom didn't have one on display but I was brought upstairs to take a look at a customer's bike. Unfortunately, the sales person didn't seem to know a thing about bikes and we wasted 30 minutes upstairs talking about what the magazines and the websites say about the bike!!!

If I wanted to know what the magazines or websites say, I'll go read them myself!

My request to fire up the engine just to hear the sound was turned down, they offered to call me when a customer brought theirs in which I felt was ridiculous! There I am and there is the bike; you mean I have to come back another day?

I was very keen in one dressed in BMW colors; I actually told my partner I must have one of them when I saw it in PML, but I'm not gonna fork out that kind of money without even being allowed to fire he engine up.

Told the sales person that he's loosing a sale, he just shrugged his shoulders as I left.

Never going back, what a waste of time...

On a side note, those of you who are keen, the bike cost 42K or thereabout. You get Brembos but the cheap ones, Showa forks, Nissin brake pumps and unknown wheels.

The sales persons couldn't tell the difference between a Ohlins and a Showa.

Some of the Sales guy there are new. Not very experience when comes to the the details. Agree there is room for improvement there.

However i m so very pleased to hear that they did not start up the customer's bike for you to listen. As a owner i will be pist. imagine 20 customer walk in and they have to start 20 times for them? Get real!

They did also mentioned they had piece in their warehouse but insisted that I had to wait for a customer to bring in his just for me to fire up the engine. I didn't expect them to fire up a customer's bike, I wouldn't like it too much myself. But what's the logic here?

The owner would be pissed if his bike was started 20 times while it is in the showroom, but he/she wouldn't be pissed if PML asked to use their bike as a showroom piece? It's PML, not some small bike shop. They have models avaliable for test ride and I'm not even asking for a test ride.

By the way, what are showrooms for? If your customer can't see, feel, hear and touch the models they're interested in? Wouldn't it be better closing the showroom and selling via the web?

It's all a matter of how you treat your customers...

On a side note, I was at another showroom earlier in the day and the experience was a world apart.

Yes, I had to wait as the lady was attending to another customer and yes I waited long. When she came over, she presented herself well and made an effort to understand what I was looking for and roughly what my background is like. When she realized she was speaking with someone technical, she immediately asked if I would like to speak with someone more technical who could present the brand better then herself.

This is customer service, I don't expect you to know everything, but you should know at the very least, what kind of customer you're speaking with. There are those who want technical specifications (top speed, peak torque, drag coefficient etc) and those who just want reliability or those who just want comfort, peace of mind, assurance...

If you don't know your customer, you can't sell. It's simple sales and marketing.

Perhaps, in the eyes of PML, I'm a customer they can loose. They have already lost out on a sale of their 535 at the launch, now they're loosing out on a S1000 RR. But it's OK, they're not the only ones in Singapore selling performance vehicles, I'm sure, out there, some sales persons know how to treat their customer.

    Dear Yoshitei,

Pls do not be delusioned into thinking that PML offers professional customer service for the cars, much worse the bike section. I am an owner of one of the bike and while i have praises for the german engineering finesse, i have none for the customer service.

Like you, i was initially groomed to believe that service here would not be like those shops at Ubi, Bt Merah or Changi Rd etc. While the facade of glass panels breeds confidence in potential customers, the inner workings are the direct opposite.

I bought the bike and was given a free ticket to a Police Station to give my statements. Apparently my deposit of few thousands dollars went missing. Prior to this, I was given a receipt (cheque-like) and since they came with the PML stamps, i guess that was how things work over there.

When the day came for me to collect my bike, i was asked for the initial thousands and the rest of the downpayments. I was obviously taken aback. In my pockets were some wads of cash to complete the transaction, but the initial thousands went missing. Professional service from PML? Those shops in Ubi can do much much better. This is just a summary of the whole chain of events.

Another friend of mine paid a deposit of few thousands for the smaller cc GS, promise made by the salesperson that the bike would be his once it arrived in few mths time. Friend waited and waited for few mths and when it finally arrived, he was told that the bike could not be released to him, but was meant for other purpose. When asked for the refund, salesperson tried to coax him to purchase another model. Of coz, he didnt. Only foolish ppl would. When pressed again for the refund, salesperson's face turned black. Expected anyway. $ was returned and friend immediately took out another bike. He experienced a much more pleasant transaction with the other bikeshop in the east.

The salesperson is also good at bad-mouthing their own customer. My bike was pending repair for few mths in PML and during this period, numerous friends of mine dropped by PML to chat him up. Unknown to him, all those that were spewed by him (unpleasant of coz), reached me via mobile or by person. Good to have many friends dropping by PML once in a while.

While the bikes are definitely eye-catching, i am sure some buy them because of their sheer engineering, looks, or juz to achieve their childhoods' dreams. Do not enter the showroom thinking u will experience a service unmatched by other bikeshops. U will be very very disappointed. For knowledge of the bikes, u r better off reading them from the mags or internet.

Buy BMW bikes only for the bikes themselves, not the service. Not to worry, the salesperson do monitor threads in SBF with respect to BMW.

Because of this, a member in my family held back his plan to purchase the 335i.

    Thanks for sharing...

I guess after my trip on Saturday, I have totally given up on both the 535 and the S1000 RR.

Sure I had childhood dreams to fulfill and the German engineering was impeccable. But I have the intention to bring both the 535 and S1000 RR into MY both for track use and to visit relatives up North. And if the pre-sales is so disappointing, I am guessing you'll have to fasten your seat belts for post-sales support. Don't think I have the time to be bickering with them over what their "warranty" covers and what it doesn't or what's "like that" and what isn't. Better off concentrating on more productive issues.

Only difference between now and then is... the money is still in my pocket!

I guess, if there's anyone out there who still feel the need to buy anything from PML, they're most welcomed to join the fool's garden.

Trust me, bring your $ elsewhere.

    Warranty? What warranty? Haha.

Get the RC8 R? Ever considered? Ur bike will come with better customer service even though its at those typical flatted factory layout. The owner was even kind enough to let me ride the RC8 around the carpark for few rounds.

If you decide not to buy any bike/car, the money is better off donated, rather than pay for "premium" service.

How do you find the RC8R?

Which owner? Rider or bikeshop owner? Kind enough? Most likely had you dropped the bike, he has a sure sale liao (if bikeshop owner). Did you check whether the bike you rode is a test bike with any rider insurance? Cos if not, it is an offence to ride without insurance. Even if it was around the carpark...

I rode the RC8. Its very different. Powerful and feels light. R1-08 pales in comparison.

Sneaked off work today and went to take a look at the RC8R, but there was none to be found.

Only one there was having it's top ripped off and couldn't be fired up. Disappointing...

    Cool

Yoshitei, maybe you can call up Loois Motors first to check whether their one parallel import BMW S1000RR bike is still available. Doc Dol stated that it costs $38K OTR. Hopefully you get better customer service over there...
First learn stand, then learn fly. Nature's rules biker-sans. Not mine...
