Correction: Actually, the S1000RR is slated for production release only in early 2010. So technically, you're getting the 1st Gen!
The 2009 model is only a teaser for the SBK.

I got this from the BMW Planet Power website. The price should be in US dollars.
We're very pleased to announce the pricing on the 2010 BMW S 1000 RR:
MSRP*: $13,800.00
Options:
Race ABS (excluding DTC): $1,000.00
Race ABS and Dynamic Traction Control (DTC) Combined: $1,480.00
Gear Shift Assistant: $450.00
Anti Theft Alarm: $395.00
Motorsports Paint Scheme: $750.00
* MSRP excludes destination, freight, license, registration, taxes, insurance and options.
So, anyone can make an estimate on roughly how much it would cost in Singapore? I went to Performance Motors just now in the afternoon to enquire about the bike. The salesman said that they will definitely bring it in next year but he has no idea how much it would cost...![]()

the sides look nice, but the headlight looks. wonder wats the idle temp for the bike. later like another r1.

I am always seen on the left lane hogging the road.
Not necessarily. Italian bikes have a huge premium attached to it due to its exclusivity. BMW made the S1000RR as a serious competitor to the Japanese Big 4s. Most of the design comes off common Jap bikes in the market today, except the addition of the goodies mentioned. So expect prices in Singapore to be slightly below $32K.

Placed a pre-order for the S1000RR already...no delivery dates so far as the first batch of production models are sold out...can't wait
Anyone else took the plunge yet?

Huh? When I went to Performance Motors, the salesman didn't even know how much or when the bikes will be coming in. Thus, he did not tell me to pre-order. When you say pre-order, what exactly do you mean? You left your name behind in a list or you paid a nominal deposit for it???![]()

What, in a container? How about selling off a kidney to pay for the shipping cost? Wait, the parallel import will be much cheaper than getting it from Performance Motors, no?
You're based permanently in the US, dude? The guys in America are pre-ordering with refundable deposits ranging from $500 to $1000.

Thats also my understanding when I placed my pre-order...

BMW has set the price of the S1000RR road bike at £10,950 in the UK for the standard model.
The S1000RR will also be available in a ‘Sport’ specification costing £12,235 OTR.
The eagerly anticipated addition to the supersport sector can be ordered from BMW dealers for delivery from mid-January 2010.
BMW says:
The S1000RR Sport version will be factory fitted with Sports ABS, Dynamic Traction Control and Gearshift Assist.
This offers customers a saving of £213 over the cost of a standard model with the three options purchased separately.
Although BMW has launched these two model specifications, a customer ordering an S1000RR will still have the facility to select any individual options they desire.
Bespoke motorcycles will then be assembled on the production line to the customer’s own specification.
This BMW option is unique to the supersport market sector.

And my mocking laughter shall be the last thing they hear. In The End, We Remember Not The Words Of Our Enemies, But The Silence Of Friendships
S1000 RR factory fitted options and prices:
Race ABS is £785
Race ABS + Dynamic Traction Control is £1,199*
Gear Shift Assist is £299*
Anti-theft Alarm is £172
BMW Motorrad Motorsport colour scheme is £390
*standard on S1000RR Sport
Ian Furse, BMW Motorrad National Sales Manager said, “In the UK, we have worked very hard to launch the S 1000 RR into the competitive supersport sector at a realistic and affordable price.
"Not only does the Standard model offer excellent value for money, we feel that with the introduction of the higher specification Sport variant, we can offer supersports customers a simple choice of specifications that will also significantly benefit the bike’s residual values.
“Simple and strong residuals will also enable BMW to offer affordable monthly purchasing plans via BMW Select Finance.
"These offers will be announced when the S1000RR reaches BMW Dealer showrooms on 5 December.

Nope. $43K machine price. OTR =$46K-$47K. Plus interest above $50K. I'm not THAT rich. Looks like the option to get a Japanese supersports bike is back on the table. Guess when they said that the price will be comparable to the Japanese sportsbikes, that does not apply to Singapore...![]()
