I think engine oil is all personal preference. If u can afford of cos can use better established brands. but the key i think is
"change more often like 3000km 5000km"
so if choose to use carlube those cheap kind of oil, maybe change 3000km lor. of cos u urself must be comfortable with the brand and oil.
wat u guys think.........same as bike engine oil concept also mah

Turbo cars EO change for 2w / 4w
OWS + filter = $130 / $140
think the above combo is reasonable given the quality.
just sharing...

Sorry bros, way over due for my FR
i have been using Elf on my Rex & i m very comfortable with it. cheap & good & i will say it gives me more confident then OWS
through out from Svc to 7500~8000km:
- oil pressure very stable 4-6bar
- Temp maintain ~80C on normal drive & holds <100C even when ocassional boost.
for bros with turbo/high power car pls stay clear from carlube. in-between when Elf was out of stock, i rush to Gaint to get a bottle of Carlube & regret BIG time. I change it out ~800km! hope no major demage done to my car![]()

anyone tried lexus eo?
..i lovin' it..
motul 300v 15w50.
2L for ~$55. Most car req abt 4.5L thereabt. Those with oil cooler should add another 1L or so.
So buy 3 bottles for $55x3=$165. Replace ~5-5.5L with abt another 1-0.5L left in the 3rd bottle for spare/track use.
Labour and filter will cost under $50. Usually ard $40-$45 thereabt.
So total dmg: $165+$50=$215 with 1/2 bottle of EO left in the bottle.
Change at abt 5000-6000km. (~4-5months). Not daily driven car. Abt 2-3times a wk on weekdays only.
Oil pressure. should not defer btn EO. If it is so, it is not the EO but probably some leakage somewhere or pump not working correctly. Eg. Leaking pipes somewhere, some seal in some part of the engine leak, oil sump leak or pump problem etc.
Throttle on btn 5-6.5bar (85deg C). Throttle off btn ~2-4bar (85deg C).
Oil temp 85 deg C for street driving with oil cooler. boosting on street max of 90 deg C. Takes approx 5-10min of driving to get the oil to 85deg C
Track wise...115-120 deg C after end of 2nd hot lap sepang.

have some spare lexus 5W-40 engine oil for sale $40 for 4 liters fully synthetic
also toyota long life coolant $25
and Denso and NGK iridium plug for sale $58 per set(ik16,ik20,ik22 etc)
watapps me or sms 98210007 for more details
not fighting the battle of words doesn't mean you are any weaker, only wiser.
no big cc la...only 2L sti. Addition of oil cooler usually adds close to 1L thereabt from stock capacity (abt 4-4.5L). Using a twin scroll oil pan (slightly smaller than 2.5L version due to EL header design), this time should be 5L
but i only clocked abt 10-12k/yr (mainly used for track then driving on street as it is not so legal and very uncomfortable due to fast dampening rate and stiff spring as well as stiffened chassis + it will scrap the front lip at almost all MSCP) so change EO abt twice a yr.
imho, any fully synthetic oil is good, just change it according to manufacturer's recommendation or 6 monthly whichever comes first.
Bro, not all EO the same. i have tried afew like Esso, Mobil1, Helix, Carlube, OWS, Motul, Elf, SPC & some others. imho they r different & really not just my butt feels the different especially the cheaper 1 like carlube even my ears, my defi meters tell the different & when it was change out in barely 800km, the EO was so thin it was like water![]()

Hi Bro,
May I introduce MSP Metal Treatment Concentrate(Engine Oil Enhancer) to you. Your preferred engine oil works best with MSP Metal Treatment Concentrate which protects your engine and reduce wear by up to 95%.

THE CUTTING EDGE OF METAL TREATMENT TECHNOLOGY
MSP is state of the art line of metal treatments that has been used for several years now in many industrial, racing and military applications.
Why are MSP products superior?
Conventional lubricants are based upon maintaining high strength and thickness of oil film, or on introducing an EP (Extreme Pressure) protective deposit between moving mating surfaces to resist failure resulting in scoring, seizure or accelerated wear.
When observing mating friction surfaces under high magnification one can see that they are actually full of "mountains" and "valleys". These "mountains" penetrate the oil-film that separates the mating friction surfaces, and collide with each other. These collisions in the micro level translate into "friction" between the mating friction surfaces in the macro-level. Some of these collisions result in metal particles breaking away from the colliding "mountains". The breaking away metal particles in the micro-level translate into "wear" process in the macro-level.
When MSP is applied, under heat and pressure, some elements of MSP impregnate metallurgically the crystal structure of the metal itself at its mating friction surface. As a result of the metallurgical process, a very thin layer of original metal is transformed into a new type of metal that is much harder and has at least 100 times longer wear-life. This newly formed layer of metal protects the original "softer" metal beneath it from any wear.
Since the protective layer is very thin, it is very flexible (like a very thin sheet metal). Although during collisions the protective layer does not allow metal particles to break away, being flexible it allows the metal underneath to be pushed horizontally by the horizontal force generated by collisions. Thus the metal on the "mountains" is "pushed" into the "valleys" flattening out the friction surface resulting in smooth polished-like surface that has much lower friction coefficient. This advanced technology that allows formation of hard, smooth polished-like surfaces from the original friction surfaces, is one of the main features that makes MSP so different from other lubricants on the market today.

recently only did my minor servicing.
Change Esso oil, 0w/40 and oil filter, the rest all okay no need to change so far.
EO + filter $126, + $28 for 4 spark plugs
So far engine even quieter, but perhaps cause its new.
Total $ spent was; 154 at SPC Aljunied road.
"Wolves and sheep will live together in peace, and leopards will lie down with young goats, calves and lion cubs will feed together, and little children will take care of them. Cows and bears will eat together, and their calves and cubs will lie down in peace." Isaiah 11:6-8
I had been using this combination for the past year...
Elf --> daily use
Motul 300v --> track use (Sepang or Pasir Gudang)
Used to be using KIC and very comfortable with it for daily use. However, my workshop is not taking in KIC anymore as it seems that the local agent is no longer dealing with KIC... Frankly, had tried KIC on the tracks and it is good...
