Please kindly take note that with immediate effect, there should not be any cut & paste of any news articles from the various sources such as Straits Times, Newpaper, Lianhe Zaobao etc.

Warning has been given by the company owning the copyrighted materials that any reproduction of their published articles required a copyright license per article.

This matter has been clarified with them and therefore we have removed all previous threads within this section in order to avoid any form of infringements.

It is hereby announced to all members that it is STRICTLY prohibited from posting any copyrighted materials within the forums and SBF will remove any contents that is deem as infringement of copyright immediately without any notice.

Its not a necessary evil.
Its just, legality and beyond our control.
I bet none of us like it, mods and users alike, but in this litigious world, not much can be done, short of everyone pooling in money to buy licenses to display each article.

Perhaps as an alternative, support and post news articles from websites that have a copyleft, Creative Commons or similar FOSS-style licence.

that's what i did - posted with link only instead.. at least riders can still click and read and talk abt common issues.

paste link I think should be OK. News sites have a feature to "share" on Facebook anyway. So maybe just paste the link. Headline title could be the same, or slightly altered to look "juicier".

How come this has become grey area to no-go area? I'm away from Singapore and this section lets me have the latest news.

Let me guess, if we copy and post, Straits Times Interactive lose money is it? I remember having to pay to read the news articles. Not worth paying, so I didn't read it at all. Either way, they'll lose money from me.
