I still love e sound of a twin though. This Tiger sounds unique due to it's triple engine configuration. Wonder what a Zard will do to it

1 XC I believe is a whitey.. With OEM panniers. Saw him riding out of Changi Airport Carpark about 1-2 weeks ago.

After riding for a solid 3 months plus, I finally realised where the cackling sound comes from whenever I close the throttle from high revs. It's courtesy of the catalytic converter mounted close to the engine. This means that the Tiger800 doesn't need to be fitted with a secondary air injection system as the exhaust scavenges itself and hence saving space and weight. It's not like the usual backfiring of exhaust. It sounded and felt mechanical.I call that character!
I'm hoping to hear from other Tiger owners as I understand that there's already 4-5 otr now.

U mean e F650GS?If that's e bike u were referring to then it's another good choice for a mid size dual purpose bike.Testrode once before and being BMW,this bike has good handling prowess and a beautiful low down torque that makes the bike feels light(not that it's heavy).I think mine is e only bike currently with e OEM panniers.Honk me if u c me

Need to know whether the Tiger 800xc tyres are the tubeless or with tube type.. The specs did not indicate anything at all..
Anyone knows? It will be great if it's the tubeless type..

Yeah interested in the XC.. but not in the tube type tyres.. can be troublesome if puntured.. It's also expensive if need to convert to tubeless type rims..

haizzz wait for the money tree to grow 1st before deciding...

honestly, there's nothing BMW about the f650gs other than the exterior design and badge. The engine wasn't even developed by them.

Hi all I had been reading up on the T800 with great interest. Was considering it as my next bike.
I was wondering if the heat from the bike a problem? I wad riding a Fazer before and my tolerance for heat was establish from the gen2 1k fz1. And how was the actual fuel consumption like?
Any problems that you would like to feedback?
    Thanks

Hi.I've been riding my bike since e 2nd March.I use to get around 19-20km/L during e 1st 5000km most of e time and after that,i've been getting 20-21km/L consistently with 50% street+50% expressway riding. If you're throttle happy,it'll easily go up to 5.2L/100km.I've tried that. It's hard to stop the habit cos it's addictive!U might wana read all my posts from page 1.I related most of my experiences with this bike.Check it out!

I failed to mention that e stock horn sounds like a #%ssy! On e highway or even street riding,no 1 would take notice if u honk so after 4 months of solid riding,i changed it to a German made horn producing 118db of pure honking sound!Lately,i noticed that e top fuel bar doesn't come on at times when i refuelled.Been trying to rectify this prob since i 1st encounter it in early July.Other than those 2 stuff i mentioned, everything else is ok.Will post a pic of my bike 1 fine day(",)

Thanks Joe and is the bike heat a problem?
Btw I had just order a white one.
Still not sure if to get the silver frame or wait for the black...
Is the silver frame prone to scratches?
And did you got the main stand? Any problem on the stand?
    Also order the Zard exhaust

Sorry for e late reply.I usually go offline.Anyway e panniers don't come with e bike. All else is accessories option.I bought e OEM mainstand, crashbar, headlight protector,XC's handguard and panniers etc when i took e bike out.I've done 18k so far and e bike is still ever ready to munch more miles in it's stride. What i need now is e Zards and e Pipercross air filter.Hee...!

e panniers locking mechanism is effective and solid but to me,it takes up a lot of space for a mechanism like that. When u twist e key to e 3rd point,e grab bars eject and all u have to do is to lift up e box normally. There's 2 mounting points under e pillion seat. It's a floating panniers so it shifts according to your direction. And e box is "not light"

Read from some overseas forums quite a number of XCs have stalling issues, and dealers are cracking their heads over this. Also, seems like you need some kind of specialised equipment to even do simple things like adjusting idling speed.

Does Mah Motor have the necessary knowledge and hardware to support this bike?

Think should have as Mah is the authorize dealer but if anything happen still have Triump to revert back to.
Read that its not just the XC.. the road version too.

Hope the things gets sorted out soon.

Been riding my white stallion since March fault free.I don't skip my servicing.Bike have performed according to expectation and more.Rode it through all conditions possible except snow.No problems.I wouldn't say e bike tackle every terrain flawlessly but it would be wise to travel on e gravel without your panniers. It's lardy riding with your panniers on e gravel but not on e road.It doesn't seem to affect handling in any way cos i've travelled with full load in both boxes on NSH at speeds of up to 190km/h.Stable still and i can also trundle at 60-70km/h in top gear without e "piston knocking feeling".I just let e torque do e work.Btw I noticed some Euro T8 have this stalling issue.Never once with mine. Can any other T8/T8XC owners give input or it seems to be affecting e Euro models??
Regarding e question of whether e mechanic at Mah is equipped with e knowledge of Triumph bike.Obviously yes.In fact there's 2 that i know of.Another 1 is Meng Tong from Sporting Motors.Just don't skip your servicing.Look after your bike like it's your 2nd wife and it'll treat u well in return. My T8 happens to be my 1st actually
Come on don't be shy.Come out fellow T8/T8XC owners
    Ride safe feLLas.Cheers

Is, this is normal if you've just removed your tank to change air-filters, spark plugs and other what-nots. The fuel sender is temporarily displaced. It'll go back to normal after a few fill-ups.

    Bros,
I’m from Malaysian that bought Malaya triumph tiger 800 roads. Need some your advice, help and opinion.

    1) The Arrows (with triumph logo) price? As Malaysia reseller sell it quite expensive and its cost for RM4300. Leo Vince price RM1600 (fully Carbon)

    2) If I used other aftermarket exhaust like Leo Vince will be warranty void. As Malaysian salesman told me yes the warranty void, is it true? how about s'pore?.

    3) How much the price for oil filter? In Malaysia cost me RM103.

    4) I found that the front sides will shake when I ride at 160km/h to 195km/h. anyone experienced the same

    5) I just got email from my reseller on recall the tiger 800 road version for updating the ECU to prevent possible engine stalling. Anyone know about the news?

    p/s : sorry for broken English....hehehe

    Thanks

1)Price of an Arrow/Zard for Tiger800 is definitely below $2k.

2)I've never heard of such issue about warranty being void due to aftermarket exhaust or any other products unless engine is meddled with.Changing an aftermarket exhaust will cause your bike to run lean. That's all.Prolly e M'sian dealers wanna push "their" product.

3)If i can recall properly,e OEM filter cost about $30.Paying RM103 is crazy! No offence cos e actual price of e filter is £9.73.

4)I rode till e meter stopped at 10k RPM at 6th gear n my speed was 209km/hr.Felt normal.U might wanna check on your head bearing/headstock on your next service.Read that through e UK forum

5)I've never came across e engine stalling but i do understand that there's a new map update for our bike but no idea if e Singaporean dealer even knows about it.

    Ride safe.Cheers!
