been a customer with them for long, and furthermore, i trade in my old bike..so can get better trade in value. was also tempted by the MT-07(looks superp to me) and initially wanted to wait for it but after giving some thought, the 2 cylinder made me changed my mind back to MT-09. as for the seat, am definitely gonna change it if it still feels like a board even after sometime..ahah

anyway, heard bout the CB1000R no longer coming to our shores, dunno whats the reason though.

Yes its good to stick to one moto tiam if they are good.

I saw lotsa yotube reviews on MT09 and many say that this bike is really powerful and torqueeeee (like a motard).. I think you will like it. Though BS is not bringing the CB1000R, they say to check with PIs. Anyway hope to see you on the road someday Fariel~

    Regards,

Understeer is when you hit the wall with the front of the car
and oversteer is when you hit the wall with the rear of the car.
Horsepower is how fast you hit the wall,
torque is how far you take the wall with you.

Is that yours? Congrats, same color as mine.
I was initially quoted 21k by HL but then on the day I picked it up, price was reduced to 18.5k. They said initial price was estimation. 18.5k was official price after launch in sg.

Fazer 8 is a parts bin bike. It's built from parts taken from other models. Mt09 is built from the ground up. Other models will be based on it. It's completely new machine with new technology compare to other models.

I honestly don't see any reason to buy fz8 now with mt09 available. Unless you buy 2nd hand and get a good deal.
If you buy new, prepare to lose a lot of money selling it.

Yea and its bad news for fz8 riders also. Those who just blew so much buying that bike. Mt09 riders can laugh at them. Not trying to rub salt in wound though. And I almost got an fz8.

Be it agent dealer or other bike shops, if only the deal includes free akra end can, that will be wonderful!

I dont think the akra pipe is legal yet.
All aftermarket exhaust curently available for mt09 are full system. It's due to how the oem one is built.
No way for you to install an end can to it. And modifying the header yourself will definitely be illegal.

Wish list for my mt09 (arranged by priority):
    - radiator guard, still waiting for a quote.
    - sw-motech rack + hb top box, rack hasn't come out yet.
    - windscreen, still waiting for puigg to come out with theirs.
    - penske or ohlins shock & fork. No news from ohlins yet.
    - akra full system.

Windshield can wait for ZeroGravity. My Penske has arrived at Post Office. Ordered the R&G low mount slider from Ebay.

I got about 210 km, with 1.5 liter reserve left.
But still running in now, milage not stabilised yet. Hopefully it'll get better but I don't expect much.

hows the ergonomics riding position of the bike? is it reasonably comfortable with a pillion onboard?

hows does the seat feels like?

how are the brakes, throttle response?
    Regards,

Understeer is when you hit the wall with the front of the car
and oversteer is when you hit the wall with the rear of the car.
Horsepower is how fast you hit the wall,
torque is how far you take the wall with you.

love the upright riding position. have yet to try with pillion while riding. only tried static & it was quite spacious. the seat feels great after a while of usage. the brakes, simply great but the throttle response, its snatchy in gear 1 & 2 especially in A & STD mode but controllable, just need more attention when closing & opening throttle. for B mode, its all the way smooth but power wise, not that fun though cause its a lot milder that the other 2 modes.

Other then those I mentioned above, the suspension is actually better now. It was quite bouncy when 1st rode, dont know what happened but dont think need to adjust the suspension atm. The bike is definitely light & agile..one of my fav stats of the bike

Cheers & Happy new year to all!

Just did first servicing today at HL. I thought it's gonna be free. I actually had to pay $55.50 for 2.66 ltr semi syn oil + oil filter.
    Only labor is free.
If I knew, I'll probably go somewhere else.

Anyway, I'm getting used to the seat. My butt doesn't hurt anymore .
Will start to push the bike harder now.

    Ride safely guys!
