    Set My eyes on the K1300R recently.
    Was thinking of getting.
    Anyone bros out there is ridding one?
    Any experience to share?
    How is the ride like?What would I be expecting if I do get one.

    Realise it's been quite awhile since anyone posted on this thread! Seems like no one rides this bike, or the riders have gathered in a separate BMW Club forum. Well, I happen to ride one now, had it for a little more than 2 months so am still very new to it. Must say the power is crazy! Definitely the fastest vehicle I have ever owned. I drove a couple of sports cars in the past but nothing compares to the sheer brutality of this machine.

    Really heavy though, so it does takes a while to get going when you give it throttle from cruising at 90km/h on 6th gear. But once the revs are up around the sweet spot, it goes into Beast Mode and the acceleration quite literally plasters your helmet to your face! You'd be going over 200km/h well before you have time to think about the consequences. This bike can get you into real trouble...

    Acceleration from standstill is even more brutal. Equipped with the quick shifter option, all you have to do is hold the throttle wide open, kick up through the gears, and hang on for dear life! I'm not used to bikes this quick, it literally jumps from one spot to the next in an instant, so to me, it's the closest you can get to teleportation! Everything is a blur... When you're not ripping a hole in the space-time continuum, you can also use the conventional clutch to switch gears. This takes some practice to get it smooth, almost like driving a car. Shift up, easy on the throttle, and release clutch slowly. Otherwise, it can feel rather jerky on the up-shifts.

    At astronomical speeds, it still feels very composed and planted. However, when chucking it around corners and switching directions, it feels somewhat more cumbersome than other bikes. It is not as sharp, nor as responsive, nor as manoeuvrable as a S1000R, or an equivalent Japanese naked litre bike. It's big and heavy, so getting through jams, parking, and other traffic situations is a real chore. Fortunately, I have my 2b bike for that!

    Riding position is a little on the aggressive side, you start to feel the strain on your wrists after a while, but I've kinda gotten used to that. Not a bike for everyday riding certainly. I've seen people handling it like a MotoGP sports bike on the track but that's not my style. Don't have the necessary skills for that anyway! The seat is relatively comfortable too, so it feels right at home on long, straight highways, covering huge distances at eye-watering speeds. Conversely, if you feel like taking a nice, relaxing ride at cruising speeds, it can do so with ease and comfort. No knocks/shakes even at 50 - 60 km/h on 6th gear.

    So I've recently concluded my first solo trip up north on this bike. The bike is an absolute monster is more ways than one! Eats the NSHW for breakfast! Its mile munching capacity is almost limitless. 220 km/h is easily achieved and maintained for most of the journey. Hit 280 km/h at one point with both saddle bags which fortunately stayed attached. Sadly, I can't say the same about the GPS, which the bike bit off and spat out with abominable force!

    Within the bike resides an evil so potent it takes over the mind of the rider, turning a normally benign motorcyclist into a suicidal speed demon! What a machine! Endless power, and such stability even at speeds above 250 km/h, inspires a confidence I had never known existed in myself. Having said that, I don't think I managed to reach it's limits before I reached mine. This is a bike that one never ever conquers. One merely survives.

    Still, not the ideal bike for touring. The aggressive riding position and lack of wind shielding makes riding farther than 200 kilometres at a time rather disagreeable. The footpegs are positioned in such a manner that it puts strain on the muscles of your outer thigh, resulting in cramps after just an hour or so of riding. Do make sure you are well stretched and warmed-up before hopping on for that next 200 kilometre bite of the highway!

    Thanks for the update - I'm an S1000R rider and was admiring the K1300R - its got a longer wheelbase and isnt quite as manouverable as a S1000 but it seems like an awesome sportsbike to ride up to Penang . Carrying stuff on my S1000 is a bit limited. (bungees and drybags. )

    Wow how many times did you have to stop for petrol on the S1000R just from JB to KL leg?
