i dun think malayias bikers can take the heat........S$4 per day (14 days free??).
papaya dun like bikes on sillypur road, jack up to S$5 per day, all malayias bikers will take buses or mrt when link is built.
S$4 per day, 20 days per months = S$80 (or RM206), one yr = S$960 (or RM2472), multiple by 20,000 to 30,000 bikes.
papaya takes more $$$ from malayias bikers than local.

IF this coe remains the same until june 2015, and i renew, i will lose out 10years of coe. because now its twice the price only 1 month ago. sh########t

Tink u only have option of choosing the current or previous COE price when ur bike abt to expire. Why not ask if u can buy last month's one?

Shops and greedy sellers will surely increase their selling prices. Honest ppl who just wana get back a bit of wat they hv paid to maintain the bike will sell at their comfortable price. Where else can buyers get their bikes? Only these 2 options.

when new coe are going up to 4k already. pqp will be almost the same approximately 4k. unless a bike is very good and owne wishes to renew 10 years, i surely see the resale values of many 10 yrs old bikes going up. say a fy honda cb400 which if coe pqp bouught a month ago at price 1700, the owner may advertise and say price is 11k and probably he would earn extra 1k .

will go up but not so soon. need to wait for bikes coe to expire and ppl will start buying 2nd bikes. if the seller get a lot of people viewing and offer for his bike, naturally the seller will up the price.

Its ok not to renew now, just renew if you can afford it when the time comes.
If it makes you feel any better, my family car is going to be 10 year old by end 2014 and looking at the amount now tell me how to renew?

This is where coe should be bidded by people who want to have a vehicle. you got money you bid. not car or bike dealers. and and cannot be put into the price of vehicle. hmmmm. so frustrated

For cars better to trade in. Maybe u find out how much dealer willing to take in ur car first for trade and scrap. And call LTA to find out how much rebate u're getting too. Then you'll know the value of ur car.

Bikes unfortunately may get rebate of balance COE and may get a bit from scrapyard to export if ur bike is in good condition. Scrapyard owner quoted $500+ for an expiring steed springer.

its all papaya scheme.......but look at the positive side n wat do we got;
1) dispatch riders will get better paid job when lesser n fewer 2b bikes around.
2) mcdonald, kfc, pizzahut.........etc, etc, will benefits from fewer 2b bikes around too, more pay per delivery.
3) more riders will move up to 2a/2 bikes, delivery will super fast, when it take 10 mins on moped, with bigger, faster n more powerful bikes takes lesser time to reach destinations.
4) mopeds already fast, imagine only silllypore had bike majority of 2a/2 bikes otr, zoooooom.

there r more positives than negatives, we all know papaya do things in the wrong ways n time will tell.

If they ever implement this they will first increase the price if alight or board MRT/bus at cental area like orchard, city hall, raffles place etc. This is what is happening in UK. if board at their cenrtal area is cost like triple the fare from boarding at other place.

Not a bad idea too, No Tax,Insurance or COE.
I once clocked an electric bicycle on a flat (not uphill) public road at 47 kmh and the rider was not even pedalling.Bus lane wide and empty while we split lanes and endanger ourselves among impatient drivers stuck in jams.

I wonder what the TP / LTA does, impound their bikes or wheel clamp and arrest the guy?
When the LTA give chase, even if they bother, a skilled electric biker can mount curb and carry on pedestrian crossing etc and evade the bulky TP's during rush hour.
Mod all you want and no number plate,haha. Biggest open secret unlike use proper bikers!
