    I am still some years away from 67. But my current CPF OA is $0. Yes. Its ZERO cos my HDB mortgage loan zaps everything from the OA every month. So is my spouse. Hers have been a glaring ZERO since few years ago when she stopped working.

    Garhmen say next time can pledge property to fulfil minimum sum. I got another 17 years to go on my loan and will probably need to do cash top-up for my loan in 4 years time (when my employer CPF contribution reduces due to age bracket). When I fully redeemed my loan when I am 56, hopefully I won't be replaced by a cheaper Pinoy or Bangaladeshi. From 56 to 67 is only 9 years, if I can eat Maggi Mee everyday (at work and at home) and stay at home dun go out for the nine years, I probably can save up somemore in order to have a withdrawal of $1200 per month from my RA (CPF) when I am 67.

    Makes me happy just thinking about it.

    P.S. on the point of bequeathing CPF. I always have a question but dunno who to ask. OA and SA can be withdrawn when a member dies. However, MA cannot, it will only be transferred to the nominee. What happens when someone dies without a nomination or when he or she has no one to nominate? Ah Gong makan everything?
    When my father died years ago, my family and I received ALL including OA , SA and MA. Not too sure if nowadays its the same. I always ask CPF many question but they always turn around the bush..Yup, when you reach 50, you will see your OA very little. so the best is the extra cash amount you received should be diligently kept in the bank/ pillow.
    right , eating maggi now but also am thinking of the unhelathy benefit these type of food .myself very worried pinoy will take over my job especially when they are smart enough to apply PR

    I would suggest we do not buy any new bike for 2 months and let it drop all the way drop. We bikers are not car owners. How to afford 5.5k just for a paper.

    How to renew old bike and how to pay for new bike when quota less and costs more ah? To go back to crowded public transport with new citizens is not the best way to integrate the population. The electoral register is being updated. prepare to make the right choice and don't be bought with SG50 gifts so easily.my neighborhood suddenly has Neighborhood Renewal programme.gifts for all! Goodies to be announced during budget 2015; so that everyone remembers how far we've come in 50yrs.
    Or rather how things have changed in last 10years. Its becoming a rat race for everything now1

    My bike Coe ends December. I'm sure many bikers have this dilemma. it was $582when I renewed by it in 2005;I hope it's not $582x10 come Dec.how did it come to this,was there a tenfold increase in number of bikes registered?or did everyone prosper such that it "seems" rising costs is the norm such that it's to be accepted?

    The COE market is reflective of our electorate. No matter how painful the policies are, we are taught to bear it like beasts of burden and continue plowing under the crackling whip.

    CPF system to revise to increase minimum sum even much higher for those willing. PAP HUAT AH!!

    Soon, they will annouce, "A lot of people is asking why the higher minimum sum is not imposed by default since A LOT OF PEOPLE wants it" Just like the Medishield Life when it was first announced. Now you don't pay premium, they fine and jail you. Next time you don't have enough Minimum Sum, the fine and jail you also.

    Partly LTA has been taking our quota and giving to Open Cat.
    So supply and demand?
    Also stated in newspapers that car prices and tighter financing rules have pushed more towards usIng bikes as transport yet Coe quota reduced.
    It's to line pockets and quench the wealthier privileged ,imagine there are so many big & luxury cars sold as compared to small cars,goods vehicles and motorcycles.Life's just not fair and we accept it here?

    yeah. i wonder what is the purpose of Cat E when it's mainly used for big cars.

    I also waiting for the COE drop but see how it rise scare the hell out of me. Thinking of buying second hand cub, the price also rise. My friend in Malaysia bought a new Honda future for rm $6000 plus but in Singapore Honda Wave cost $10000. I think I need to take public transport in future liow.

    and also foce the malaysian bike to buy malaysian bike instead of sg bike ?

    so that they can collect the toll money , thnk almost 5 years break even liao based on current coe.

    we can't buy msian bike to ride here.even big bikes current pricing cheaper than here after tax and all.of course can ride more than10years.
    Sigh, new paper last Sundays feature COE spike caused by quota halved since 2years ago.how come LTA allow the quota to drop so much and then pass to Open Cat .doesn't take anyone with half a brain to figure it's all for money. Public buses still packed and they want people to use it?
    Why We should voice out, it's because Singapore brand is efficiency so we shouldn't expect less from Gahmen.not just to squeeze the rich guys at the same time squeeze the middle and lower income.

    pls do ur maths, malaysai bikers pay S$4 per day per entry, ie. S$1388 per annual.
    big bikes in malaysai cost a bomb, much more expensive than sinkapore.

    The Govt manipulates the supply, yes. They are a less direct cause.

    Dealers, hungry and greedy for sales, bid high to close their deals.

    Buyers like us, some desperate to own a bike, some just plain ignorant, will just follow through with whatever the dealer says.


    All it takes is for one or two bidding exercise, where few, or even none of us buy a new bike. Where our demand drops below the available quota.
    Where the bid will be $1. And it will automatically drop the COE down again for the next few months perhaps.

    Think of it as a reset switch.
