Default Parking in open air carpark

Hi guys, those who park in open air carpark, what do you do to maintain the condition of your bike? Frequent washing/wiping? Cover with canvas? If not covered, how do you manage the bike when it gets wet? Also, could parking under the hot sun for long hours daily lead to any problems?

Covered! Protects the plastic parts especially from turning whitish.

Better cover. Under the sun should be be okay, just some plastics may fade. Under the rain is a bigger problem. When rain very very heavy your spark plug might get wet and then cannot start. If your bike is old then water might get into the gas tank cap also.

Do you guys do anything if the bike happens to get wet or just let it dry on its own? Like if it happens to rain while riding/waiting for bike to cool down before covering.

Last time when I was parking open air, I covered my bike all the time. And yes, I even went to the extent of applying clear nail polish to all the nuts and bolts on my bike to slow down rust.
Biking is something that everyone can learn and enjoy!

Covers takes up too much valuable space if taken on you with the bike.
It is also dirty to handle and attracts cats if you dont know the technique to tieing.

Like many caring owners i try to wash her every weekend as well as my chain.
Also, I apply wax whenever necessary.

Cover with the canvas. However, the canvas is subject to fast wear and tear if you expose under the sun and rain most of the time.

canvas is roughly $30 and it last quite a long time, getting rust on your bike? priceless

If u really worry then just park at the nearest MSCP. I'm sure there's 1 near your vicinity. Just take it as a warm-up before riding and as an exercise when going home..

Just remember not to tie too tightly when you cover with a canvas. You don't want your bike to be turned into a sail. I have seen a bike toppled by wind.

if u dont cover...ur paintwork will fade, the plastic will turn white, screws will rust, rubber parts will harden, ur clear plastics will also become cloudy,
