    Default CDC Class 2 (2015)

    Hi bikers,

Enroll today and my 1st lesson is on 9/1. Any bros/sis enroll? Did not c any thread under cdc so created a new 1. Found out that the available slots sucks more than my previous 2a experience here maybe the lesser bike available?

Cleared my 2a on Dec 13 hopefully still remember all the basics. Any knowledge sharing frm all the sifus out there?

Hmm...no reply frm bros here. Anyway let me update a bit, cleared my lesson 1 which consists of slope, plank n pylon. The instructor like to ask questions during the briefing which make me feel stress. Mind when blank when directing questions like 'name me the step for turning right'

Started to answer with 'signal right, check oncoming vehicles, check blindspot n turn right'. Then he say wrong how u pass ur 2a?haha...y u didn't check ur mirror?our bike no mirror?dang!!!

Meet a bro there, very friendly chap. His current ride is cb 400 very s. If u r here nice 2 meet u bro.

The new bike is easier to control than what i expected as it is responsive. Like the smooth power. After the session, riding back my daelim r125 sucks big time.

Well booked lesson 2 on coming Monday. Hopefully can clear. Will update after lesson 2. Hope can share some experience with bros here n like wise gaining experience.

Cleared my lesson 2 today. Done figure 8, ebrake n bumpy corse. Figure 8 was a challenge as need 2 clear within 11 second n below. Ebrake some how or rather felt that it is easier 2 control than class 2a n 2b previously as the bike is very responsive.

Bumpy course need 2 achieved minimum 8 seconds which I had once stall engine n once lost control n my leg touch the floor. Anyway practice few rounds n getting the hang of it.

There is only me doing class 2 lesson 2 today. Meet a bro doing class 2a lesson 2. Another friendly chap riding duke 200. Good luck in ur class 2a bro.

Book revision lesson on Thursday and lesson 3 right after the revision. Hopefully can pass in 1 shot. Asked the counter during my credit top up that the earliest TP is on Mar. The slot is too limited. Must cleared lesson 3 ASAP n book 4 TP. Will update on Thursday if available.

Bro w7_lee, cdc now using xj600. New bike, very responsive. Go for it bro. U will not regret.

Anyway update a bit, Lucky day. Cleared my lesson 3 after a revision lesson. Got 16 points demerit just nice to pass. Booked TP on 20 March. That's the earliest slot. That week will need another revision lesson b4 TP. Today the circuit is full of cars. Jam everywhere. Guess 1245 slot is the most pack?lunch time?Weather is hot today. Sunny rain a while about 1530 when I'm doing my lesson 3.

    Anyway will update again soon.

Bro, u mean the lesson or tp?lesson is ok....I enrolled on 5/1, lesson 1 on 9/1, lesson 2 on 12/1 n lesson 3 on 15/1. I felt that the slots is ok. Better than my class 2a which I need about 3 months 2 cleared. Tp waiting time is long. My tp is on 20/3. Long way 2 go.

My time quite easy to pass class 2 tp - just look confident, no major mistake, 1 time pass liao. That was when we were still using the FZ6N.

I was riding a kup when learning class 2.

Another 11 months+ before I can take my Class 2! How's the lifting of the dummy bike like? I don't think I can do it. Is that on Lesson 2?

its technique for the "dummy bike". and with the guards i think it will be easiler

Online got show other techniques for lifting heavy bikes on solid ground. Since you passed 2A i think shouldn't be a problem for u as you should have the height and build to pull it off.

1.55m not exactly very ideal height. Still got a year to prep anyway. I heard doesn't matter what technique you use as long you lift it up and put it down nicely.

    Looking forward!

TP doesn't care about the technique - but proper technique is very important especially if you are shorter or don't have a strong upper body. Stronger riders can basically ignore technique and just wrestle the bike up. The bike is quite heavy, it's not a modern bike with aluminium engine / swing arm - it's all steel. The technique they teach involves getting your right leg underneath the bike and lifting using both arm and leg power. You can practice any time you want - regardless what lesson you are doing, park your bike and practice lifting and walking the bike in a figure 8.

Interestingly this is not the technique they teach in other countries - where they teach squatting down with your back to the bike and lifting the bike behind you. I guess it's because this second technique wouldn't work very well when you try to put the bike back down - which is not something you would do in real life anyway.

Also, leg under bike only works because the bike has crash bars - they help quite a lot. If the bike was a class 2 sports bike lying flush on the ground, it would be nearly impossible to lift using this technique.

Been a while since I updated. Well today when for revision to prepare for tmr's test. Everything's when well. A bit 'corroded' in the beginning.

Regarding the dummy bike, we will do it before the practical. Push it down, lay it to rest and lift it up. After that push the bike in the like a figure of 8. 2 cones will be the guide. For me no issue, 1.8m at 90kg. Hehe overweight.

Oh yeah, let me review a bit on the bike based on my opinion. I prefer 226, smooth, biting point 4 the clutch just nice for me same as my current bike but too bad it's for the instructor. Tried also 222 and 223 quite smooth and easy to menovour around. Avoid 224 as it's ideal setting rpm it's too high. If u get what I mean. 221 did not try.

Tmr will be reporting at the waiting station at 7 am. Hope can pass in 1 shot. Will update again.

This morning i reach CDC at about 0700 and waiting there for about 20 mins before registration. At about 0800 there is a round of briefing and last warm up training. After that, TP cleared all the documentations at about 0930. 1st task is to push the dummy bike, then waited for my queue to do the test. Finish the test at 1010 and waited the result till 1130. Got the license update and complete everything at about 1200 hrs.

    19308_10153167986252258_7305534011700362167_n.jpg

Cleared my TP today with only 2 demerit points.

Got my 2 points at the e-brake station. Too nervous and cock up the procedure. Shifted down the gear before totally stop. 1st time happened. Not even in the lessons and revisions. Anyway, a passed is a passed. Who care about the points. Will be going to 'shopping' tmr...hopefully....

Congrats. And it's a normal mistake to make during e-brake when you are used to riding on the road - it's a reflex to just shift down just before you stop. Also - I don't think it should be a demerit point, it does not affect braking at all if your left foot shifts down 1 gear just before you stop and put the foot down.

Bro siphon, not clutchless shifting. When u clutch in to brake and ready to stop in the middle of the red n white line.

In retrospect Class 2 was the most fun. You are more relaxed, more experienced, the bike is a lot more fun and reliable too, also less "cramped" than the 2B/2A bikes. A bit tempting to speed inside the circuit as you practice - but need to act like the responsible adult among all the 2B and Class 3 learners - some can be very unpredictable.

I am having mixed feelings. Class 2 will prove to be the toughest yet for me. In contrary to what you just mentioned, the extra power, extra oomph may prove too demanding for me and of course with the expectation that I should be able to ride better than I did when I was a 2B and 2A learner. Not sure if I will be able to adapt since I was already struggling with 2B and 2A especially pylon slalom.

Not sure if I will be able to adapt since I was already struggling with 2B and 2A especially pylon slalom.
Power can be controlled from your wrist, and if anything, class 2 bikes are much more stable than the 2B/2A you have used before. If you ride frequently you should have no problem.

just did my 1st lesson. currently roding 200 cc phantom so was expecting to be overwhelmed by the power of the 600cc bike but like not so powerful leh... only thing is that the bike is very heavy so very afraid of stalling the bike cos likely it will just fall on me. a will the bike stall in gear 1/2 like smaller bikes if not enuff throttle or does it have enuff torque to remain stable?

I dropped the bike twice in my first lesson. Once... Dismounting the bike for the first time, so ma lu.. The other time.. Stopping near the curb and my left foot step on the drainage hole and the bike collapsed on my left.

Impressions pls. Personally I liked the bike, I thought it was really nice to steer / control which is important in the circuit. More accurate to control than the YBR250. How is the throttle / power compared to what you ride outside?

    Currently waiting for my TP.

The XJ600 is definitely a nicer ride than the YBR250. Throttle is a little lag/not as responsive compared to my own 400cc. I've got to twist the throttle more than what I usually do for my own bike. Not as smooth compared to my own bike. Hmmm.

Power wise - very manageable. Not a big leap from 2A to 2.
