Bitter & Snowy Himalayas

The Enfield tagline is Made Like A Gun. Unfortunately it doesn’t go like a Bullet.
But luckily the Manali Leh highway is a lot easier now than it was 10 years ago when I first rode it.
It was supposed to be summer, but no one informed the Himalayas about it – snow on all the high passes.
And snowstorm on the ride up to Khardung La and Chang La.
Snow is fun for about 5 minutes.

My salute to you FB666Y for doing the journey solo in a far desolute place. I shudder to think what if my tires get punctured, what if get robbed, what if motor get washed away by the fast flowing river. No more money to buy petrol or worse passport get wet.
i am sure you will be planning your next trip in the near future.

I actually enjoy the solitude. Its easy to get on a tour and follow someone - that's hardly a challenge. There's a greater sense of accomplishment when you have to do all the planning and deal with everything on your own.

Though its possible to get robbed the chances are very slim. As for fast moving rivers and getting punctures that's just part of the fun. That should hardly be an excuse to hold your back.
