What's a pair of good tyres(tube or tubeless) for my RXZ ??
I'm using 18 inch sport rims... Not much of a choice so need a good advice.

No way to change to 17 inch sport rims as well.

    Thanks for all inputs!

hi il4, i dun understand some of the thing u said..pls explain more...

no...not really, but u still can live with it...
its more heavier then the recommeded tires,
and the outcome: (if heavier wat will happen?)
increase unsprung weight (wat it mean??)
    longer braking distance
more inertia and hence (wat u mean?)
poor gas mileage (wat u mean?)
suspension have to cope with the added weight

imagine that ya riding a bicycle....and imagine wat will happen when i add weight to the wheel....

    pedal till shack
take a longer distance to brake...

another example will be, imagine u pillion your gerfriend, compare to u riding alone, theres a different in weight....

tho this is not the best example to represent unsprung weight, but it gives the same impression
so in another word my fuel consumption is more izzit??
n my engine n suspension will get more stress up izzit???

check tire pressure as frequent as possible, 32psi for your front and 36 for your rear (street use). Thats for CBR400
il4, what's your tire pressure setup like? Also, do you know of any 18" sport rims that'll fit our bikes and use tubeless tires?

so far those sporty ones i see are those excel rims. at least 1.6" wide for 17"

18" is a thing of the past...

    Tire pressure...i'm using TT900 using 25psi to 28psi....
18" no choice... Using 2 good brand new 18" race tires now. No plans to change them for now.

i doubt even Excel Rims have any 18" dude.

I'm using 18" shod with TT900, and its pretty good...

TT's are bias ply tires and they tend to get very hot(overly flex under stress) and they are not know to dissipate heat well....

and if u look at the whole picture in a brighter side...18" tires runs a tad cooler then 17" tires
Saw them in 18 X 1.85 size in their website but hinted to Jeffrey(Mah), he didn't say mention he had any though. Might be opting for heavier options like sports rims off another bike (For puncture insurance). Saw a 3 spoke design (Similar to TZR Double Disc) on another K but not too sure about it's diameter.

The TT's were obvious choices for me amongst many other options but my past favourable experiences with them made me go for them.

any luck with D.I.D or union? I'm not very good with this sports rim thingy on Lau K
Might give EXCEL a miss after all. Remembering many years ago, also on a Lau K, kenna a big nasty nail, along Jalan Bahar. Not a nice feeling.... Sports rims with tubeless tires seems only logical at this point of time, although they're heavier.

You wanna get sport rims size 18 ??
Can get at JB for RM200 for a set plus installation.
Add RM30 for a pair or bearings.
    TT900 (msia) @ about RM60-70.

Thanks v much for the info il4.Guess i'll stick with the same set.
Whats ur view on battlax BT45? Wat are the models from other brands in th same cat?

no u cannot mix radial and bia ply tires.....

remember that bias ply tires get heated up really fast and they dun dissipate heat and u run into trouble of having different operating temperature and hence u have inconsistent grip...on top of that, due to different construction between bias ply and radial....they flexed differently,
bias ply flexes too much....stick to either matching ones, never mix

Premature front wearing of tires explanation (applies to street bike)

[color=#0036ff]carcass distributes the load from the tread block to the tire, but it deforms some, allowing the tread block to flex up and down.

may I know where exactly is the meaning of "thread block" and "tire" in the above sentence? Thanks

thk alot il4.....so how to maintain a gd tires???like how long to check air pressure..n how much air to pump for rear n front???
Remember to check your tire pressure only when cold. Meaning when the bike tire has cooled down. I used to pump at the gas station, read 33psi front n 36psi rear and home i go. But to realise in the morning, the needle from my pressure gauge reads something else!! Oh the kiosk pump press gauge never seems accurate, I do not know why!

    use knobbies tires as example.....

think "tread block" as the knobbies

think "tire" at the bottom of the knobbies

    apply it to street tire...
Aahhh OK. Was thinkning along that line too. thank you very much! How your shocks? In already?

I just changed my Vtec 1 front Tyre to BT010 at HKL @ $110 with balancing. Service is really fast. Overall quite happy lah.
I was quoted DID X-ring @ $180. How's the price? need to change this soon too.
if it include sprocket then it worth it....original honda sprocket....

Sprocket included but not original. They emphasize it's from italy.
