    was wondering how come sg aprilia bike's exhaust and spockets r different from other bikes? exhaust on the left and spocket one right.. is it becoz it's an Italian imported bike..
    that's make rs125 so special and unique.. minus the bulky milo can..

    although i am not ridding this bike anymore, here's what i finally stuck to after trying different things.


    Recommend
    --------------

    2T Oil = castrol TTS

    Spark Plugs = ngk gold B8EGV or B9EGV

    Transmission Oil = Castrol RS (i know this is for 4-stroke engine oil, but it feels much much better then rock oil)

    Air Filter = stock sponge filter should be good enough, however u got to change it frequently(around $6) as it absorbs water like a sponge & becomes crappy messy sponge residue after some time (dun leave home without it)

    Brake Pads = any organic pad would do, This bike has damn good brakes.

    Chain Lube/Wax = Castrol chain wax. (lots of people recommend motorex now, however it isnt available then)

    Tires = GPR70

    Lightbulbs = hmmm, i've never changed this before. It should be able to last quite a long time.

    Hi,I'm thinking of getting a 2nd hand RS 125...i hear alot of ppl saying dat maintainance is rather or very expensive..how tru is dat??and was wondering if we could get the newer pipe and ask LTA for appproval...has anyone tried dat??cos the milo pipe is kind of a turn off...if not I would prob get a KRR...hope u guys can comment

    do consider rs125. take your time and choose a good 1. i personally think aprilia engine is quite tough if u really go and take care of it regularly. Maintainance wise is actually not be that ex. very much same as other bikes..change engine oil, top up 2t, wash carb, all this basic things how ex can iit be? 2nd hand parts can be purchased easily la.....
    unless u whack it like hell. in this case, of coz engine will be stressed out and will cost u a bomb as there r the impt parts. engine, pistons etc...all these don't comes cheap. like sp, krr etc....

    yes, i agree with solid pig.. do really consider rs 125.. i am totally in love with it.. it gave mi a feeling that my ex bike couldnt have given mi. it has larger tires and bigger body frame work with gd gemeotry that allows u to corner and cruise with ease and u feel more stable riding that bike.. Maintance wise it is about the same as the rest of the 2 stroke bikes, change gear oil, top up 2t wash carb and clean valve once in a while.. But there is a common problem in aprilia that is with its valve which tends to break and the magnetic coil.. valve breaks still okie u can block the valve (Dead valve if i am nt wrong) and save up $ till u got money buy new valve but if magnetic coil spoilt si bei xiongz.. battery wont get charge and horsay bike cant start liaoz.. got to push start if u are afraid of this problems go for the new rs123 03 model. sleek cool and comes with the new rs pipe instead of MILO KONG. The raw power coming out of it is damn shiok but haiz too bad mi no $ or else go for the new rs

    One of my frens changed to the new approved arrow.. cost a bomb but to me, an approved arrow, how much power can it provide? He din update me abt the pipe tot..

    The other fren of mine put in an unapproved one and hide it inside milo.. Cant be seen but can be heard.. Nicely done up by ah boon.. He'll be selling his rs really soon... DUnno if i shld buy over his arrow..

    U interested in RS? my fren is selling his FS plate y2k..

    P.s. u need to ride aprilia to know aprilia...

    These few days my computer broke down so cannot online.. Now okie le.. Wah move to ubi, still so far from my home no problem i going down will give u a call.. my pipe at last modified le can open my valve and i told my mech about the throwing off problem at certain rpm etc and dunno wat the hell he did nw bike smooth no more tat problem liaoz.. Now currently very happy with my bike, shiok Aprilia so nice feeling it give mi when it does not disappoint u

    The fine is only $500 so u save $200. If u spend it on the approve arrow, u won't worry getting caught when riding.

    I would rather crash 125 first. gain experience first...must fall then will learn..my theory..using it to test my limits. first time on a sportbike no exp on 125 and 250 so i did badly on track so i need to downgrade in order to upgrade.

    The technique is the same. The most impt thing is to "feel" the bike. I dont know wat makes u thing tat different cc got diff methods of in and out of cornering. Do you find any major diff in the methods in the 125cc, 250cc, motogp class or SBK?? If you happen to notice any diff, pls tell me, i would want to know too...thanks

    Would u like to elaborate more...

    If u were to compare the engine 2stroke vs 4stroke..than there is a difference in shifting gears (dont know how to describe in english) but not in cornering.

    My point of views
    -------------------
    * 125 cheaper to get - $800, no insurance & road tax (not goin to buy also)
    * 2nd hand parts are easily available
    * 125 - a trainer bike for track
    * 2nd hand bike - more daring to try. will not feel anything if crush.
    * gain exp too.

    for aprilia? well, under ur name will be ard $550-$600 from NTUC.. And that's the cheapest i think.. Get someone who's older to be ur main rider lah.. but he needs to be the owner of ur bike too,..

    My point of views
    -------------------
    * 125 cheaper to get - $800, no insurance & road tax (not goin to buy also)
    * 2nd hand parts are easily available
    * 125 - a trainer bike for track
    * 2nd hand bike - more daring to try. will not feel anything if crush.
    * gain exp too.
    the rs125 u buying u sure the front fork and rear suspection can support u when u go in corner ? condition of teh engine allow u to wrack the bike ?
    still got some common problem like valve jam ,no power top maybe 140km/hr,drink petrol etc ......
    u dont buy insurance how u going to transfer ownership unless u buy liao u cancal away that a different story.

    i am still lookin for it. It is not a hurry for me but i have some in mind. Suspension is the main consideration of the bike. Aprlia stock fork cant be adjusted like my 600 fork. The front fork dont have preload and compression adjustment. Did not check the rear suspension but i doubt it got preloading. As long as both are stiff enough; not much of sagging,its ok. I dont expect thr aprilia125 to perform at its peak but it is a exp/"feel" im lookin for in the track. Crush...just scrap or repair.

    You can purchase a bike without insurance and road tax. The trouble is u need a tow track to tow it away, unless u r a risk taker. You cant start the bike and ride it off on the road. Anyway, if your bike is heavily mod, u also cannot ride it on roads, unless u are a risk taker.

    ya it not wrong not to buy insurance and road tax ,so i assume u not need to transfer the ownership
    just don ride on the road u can do anything but just dont get caught.maybe u are keep the rs at the track so it all right.u got ur perfect plan .if u keep ur Rs in singapore and tow to malayasia and ride each time u go to track i rather buy insurance and ride theer myself as it will be cheaper rather than paying the towing fee 2 time once to and from goign to track

    You got an arrow pipe on your bike, you pay for all the insurance and road tax ....if u get caught , u still pay fine....

    there is no right or wrong in both ways...just wat do u want to choose....

    WHat's the milage for your RS125? mine only 200km including reserve.. is it very low? if it is..what might be the prob?
    i dunno my full tank of 12 or 13 litres. it's a FN Replica..
