nolah u guys cmon even cars only have so limited roads to drive to. its not so bad... the most u can go are to the beach carparks or to hotel. u cant drive to the attractions even so in a way sentosa allows cars to go in... but only to the carpark of beaches so that beach goers with handful of stuff can juz unload... makes sense dun it? and to go other other parts of the islands... sentosa still imposes on visitors to take the buses or monorails...

so while cars do spoil the tranquility or pollution or shyt... id really hate to hear bike exhaust sound in the island... deny all u want it is irritating. so sentosa gets my approval for their firm stance but could be lenient on us to park our bikes within their premises.

What they need to do is allow bikes to enter the island and develop a special bike only parking area near the first internal bus stop. This way bikers can get into the island easily and then catch the internal busses to any of the beaches.

The current problem is that there isn't any acceptable parking solution for bikes outside the island except the illegal area near the construction site where all the workers bikes are currently parked.

If they allow bikes into the island without restriction then all the idiots will race/speed in there and it will soon become banned again.

But wat is the intention of the authorities on this matter?Hav they ever expressed their thoughts & concerns to the public?

You went through Army, and you know all you need is 1 sabo king to spoilt the show.

Bikers know their limit? Is this what you see on the road?

Remember it is 1 sabo king biker that raise the riding age limit from 16 to 18 about 10 years ago.

Wanna to know why Sentoas allow cars, and not bikes? Access TP data and you will know why.
mmm agree, now its raised to 21 i guess, for those who are born on 1989 onwards.

i went there today
their beach car park barely 10% utilized.
they definitely can make place for bikes.
the car park is there for locals mainly?
i dun think foreigners come sg will drive ard, take taxi also cheaper.

hopefully they can spare us a space to park our bikes somewhere where we can hope on to their buses easily.

the carpark at hawker center barely have slots for us. i go there 10 times, only park in lot maybe 2-3 times, and it's only in the morning then i can get it.

during the days when i used to work at sentosa resort n spa, i got caught once parking on the pavement. went to appeal, succeeded. cos i work inside. and there were no other lots.

similar case with my friend, he failed. his option would be seah im (which is always full) and harbourfront on ly season parking holders of the mapletree development allowed only. i rem if not wrong it was $30+ /month.

The new mono-rail will take passenger from WTC into Sentosa when completed.
Is all planned. Once allow bikes to go in, they will have problem to control the parking, there will never be enough parking for bikes.

You and I know what will happen.
It will become an illegal race track for small bikes.

Not everyone thinks the way you guys do. There are always black sheep everywhere.

Thousands of us can petition for this cause...but it takes only one black sheep to start racing in there and all our voices will be drowned by one exhaust pipe.

i agree with u uncle raptor. Btw, near the beaches there got MSCP being build mehz? didn't saw when i went there on the 31st Jan. i know our once beloved fantasy island has now become a parking lot for cars and coaches.

i did saw a bike parked along the beach. just outside the dolphin lagoon. looks like a TP bike but only that it's a 2B bike lor. 4 strokes 1 summore. think it belongs to 1 of the island patrol ba? i also remember this 1 stretch of roads just outside the delifrance at the siloso beach there, parked with cars. 1 lane become left 1/3 lane.

the new vivo city is by mapletree under temasek holdings (if i'm not wrong) that means its the same mgmt as harbourfront, which only allows season bike parking at a cost of $30+ monthly, hope they would allow bikes to park at a daily rate... seah im is like so faarrrrrrrr~~

I don't own a car in Singapore. Never did and never will for now.

My bikes are my only transport. I too think they are bloody discriminating by not allowing bikes on the island.

WTF, 4 wheels good, 2 wheels bad issit??

Sound like some crap from Animal Farm.

You should tell them that there is no need for cars to go in too.

I think the Sentosa Authorities is actually the Communist Party. Mebbe their flag has the symbols of the hoof and horn on it, just like it was mentioned in the book, Animal Farm.

Pardon my ignorance, but why do we need to go to Sentosa? I don't think there's much interesting place there. Couldn't care less if they dun wana let motorists go in. If they think it's the way to do business, I leave it up to their judgement.

I only go there to go to the wonderful beach and lagoon to destress myself. I'd take my bike to the interchange and have a really shut off day, it'd be so slow that waiting for a bus is leisure.

Or, I'd just take a ferry or cable car for a relaxing day. A bikeless day, once in a blue moon.

i think it be gd for sentosa to @ least allow bike to park @ the carpark @ the visitor center & from there, we take 'eir transport to other part of sentosa .. cos from what i see, there seems to be a problem with the parking lot @ the harbourfront interchange

Sentosa's Shuttle Bus is very inflexible.
go chalet at night go no shuttle service.
sometimes also need to squeeze with a lot of people in the shuttle bus.

hmm well.. i think letting bikes into sentosa require going to higher authority.. like Mp? ha.. or newspaper? i dunno.. but its a good idea.. bikes can access alot of areas cars cant, and can save us alot of time of travel at sentosa.. hee, also maybe can pillon galfren to some unforsaken bushes.. and ehem

well, i totally support this idea of letting motorbikes into sentosa

petition to sentosa..
hmm...

i work there..

and my answer...

i wouldnt be agreeable to the petition..

first thing first..
i know the roads there..
its small..
has lots of curves..
alot of people.. especially kids.. running around...

knowing road users..
people will speed and play the corner there..
its too risky for the pedestrians..

anyway the curves there..
most are up slopes..
if u were to have an accident.. (choy)
u would definately.. go tumbling down for sure..
end up at the small cliffs or straight to the water..

the rangers already have a hard time attending to the cases there..
wat more if there were road cases..
it would just add on and on...

there are definately more reasons to why motobikes aint allowed in...
think about it.. go figure..

Fr ur message.I assume the road users u r mentioning also includes cars as well.I believe the management should nt be stereotyping and only allowing cars to enter Sentosa.

I believe its equally dangerous and fatal regardless whether a car or bike were to roll down a cliff or into water..although yah,I agree that when cars hav accident, the chances r not as high as compared to bikes. But if accidents like such were to happen now to the cars, then I tink its much more troublesome for the rangers there to salvage the situation.

I do believe that the management hav their reasons in nt allowing bikes to enter Sentosa..

But I dun tink we(bikers) shld be left to figure out the reasons on our own. When they allow us to do that, doubts and assumptions will flood peoples' mind. And for my personal pt of view,I tink we r nt receiving the same amt of respect as compared to the car community even though we r label as road users as a whole.

But I'm nt jumping to conclusions as I'm hoping to get some reason,nt excuses fr the management..

Then again, for the least of all things they could do,they could at least allow bikes to be parked at the visitor center as mentioned by cutibiz erlier..

I would love to ride in Sentosa and enjoy going to which ever location or beach i wanna too. I agree with wad is said, cos there are SOME of the bikers who makes the ENTIRE community of bikers look dangerous and hazardous.

Sentosa is a tourist spot, which is supposed to be nice, quiet and friendly right?

Imagine a Harley Davidson convey there... How about the KTM boys and girls going there for a rounding trip? Cars are different, they don gather together and all go in with their modified exhuast at the same time right?

Imagine the mess the roads of Sentosa will be with motorbikes squeezing all over the place. Mainroads of Singapore is bad enough, why bring the stress to Sentosa?

I love Sentosa (frequent there before i started working) and i'm a biker. i don't mind squeezing and waiting for the bus cos going to Sentosa is supposed to be relaxed, why bother bringing in the bike where you will need to look out for traffic etc, etc right? Take the bus can talk to friends, see scenery (see girls) , etc

Not against anyone in particular, but this is really how i felt and i think its good that bikes don't go into Sentosa. Really hope i didn't offend anyone.

I THINK, think only la, that if they can afford an apartment at the Cove, they usually will buy private seacraft or big big car rather than a bike... that's what i think la....

do you guys notice that sentosa dun have a single traffic light?
They got their own good valid reasons for not allowing motorise motor cycles in sentosa: for safty reasons, noise pollutions, cost of deploying more rangers , cost of fixing speed cam, and there is monkeys n peacock walking around and crossing the road.

And if they allow it, all it take is just a black sheep to spoil the ambience of sentosa.

There used to have scrambler race there quite a few yrs back, all the scramblers are told to put on vans or lorry to transport into the island, and are only allowed to ride at the race area.
It had to be look at the view of whole picture.

i like the idea of parking at near the visitor centre... at least we get into the island.....from there, i'd be happy to take the buses around...
maybe we can petition on this basis.
saves us a whole of trouble.......
