    Hi Guys,

Have any of you come across Texport leather suits? Any comments on it? Thinking of getting it but would like to get some opinions first.

How does it compare with say Dainese or Spyke?

Here in the States, Dainese are considered the top of the line suit period. Spyke are on par with Alpinestars. Those dainese suit cost as much as your new bike in singapore. Texport has been around but rarely spoken for in the States. In the UK maybe so....
i have the GPU suit by Alpinestars but i wish for the smx version suit. If i haev that cash laying around, you bet dainese will be on my shopping list.

dainese suits are like nike shoes, nice design and top pf the line in price.

texport is also very well made and has some solid designs for a much better price than dainese.

rev'it is also a very good make for leathers

using the Clover rc100 series vented model with speed hump and sliders.
the fit is damn solid and the leather is thick yet soft.
    removable CE protectors and lining.
Rated best full leather 1 piece suit in Feb 2004 British Edition of "Superbike"

    100% satisfied!!!!
    highly recommended!!!!!!
top class material and make quality

    worth every cent....

    check out this review:-
In a pre-NEC bike show presentation, we were party to preview of some fine leather and fabric items from Italian moto clothing company Clover. It’s not a well –know brand in the UK, but in Italy they are among the top three. Judging by some of the fabric stuff we were shown, their position in the Serie A of Italian clothing companies is well deserved. Despite the dubious name – Clover? Irish lucky charms? – the design and ‘build quality’ of the jackets was spot-on. It’s not gear pitched at the lower end of the market but it’s worth a look if you want a bit of Italian design flair on your back. They sponsor a few Italian grand prix riders and Big Al has been comfy as you like in an RC100 one-piece race suit this season with no complains. check out http://www.clover.it for pretty pictures.

Dainese basic leather pants with velcro for sliders = $780
RS Taichi leather pants with velcro for sliders = $680
Clover Leather pants with velcro for sliders = $620
Rev-it LEather Pants with Velcro for sliders = $550
Lower grade leather pants with velcro for sliders $400 - $500
Cheapest one i have seen is in Tokyo's Ueno park which is famous for bikes accessories and apparel. about JPY25000 with works out to be just below $400.
that was during the sale period.

Leather pants with velcro for sliders are generally $100 - 200 more than normal leather pants becos they are armored in the right areas and have velcro for sliders

IF you are keen to go on track, just buy a full suit once and for all. it will save you money. In other words, do it right the first time...saves money time and effort

But if you already have a good leather armored jacket, just buy the matching pants, then you will have a 2 piece leather suit which is decent for the track too.
it will set you back half the price of a full suit either way..........

Dainese Singapore or rather JR located along upper serangoon only has one model for leather pants with sliders application. he quoted $780 last time although wiling to give 10% discount. $650 is quite reasonable if you ask me. but it's not perforated so can be very hot.

CE armor you can easily buy over the net.... or go to chiap lee

oh, they brot in another model?
the last i saw , they only have one model with slider application.

anyway, just get a one piece full suit for track.then keep your jacket for touring use

I have tried on a few brands before although not actively on the track.

Texport - good feel and good price but make is a little raw.
Dainese - good feel, great designs, make is good, price is too high
RS Taichi - good feel, soft but feels too thin, price is quite high.
Rev'it - good feel, well made, good price (highly recommended)
Clover - good feel, soft, doesnt feel thin, very well made, price OK.
Alpinestars - Feels tough but a bit hard and thick. Price OK
Spyke - feels good, nice designs, price OK
Komine - thin, basic, doesnt feel protective enuff, cheap

this are my personal opinions after trying the suits.

please try, strectch bend, curl, kick, pull, squat before buying.
The moment somewhere uncomfortable, drop it no matter how cheap.

$1200 can get you a very solid suit already..........

think motorworld has a pretty decent selection of jackets if you are not going for the full suit. saw the price tag. more than 1.5k for a spyke full suit! think i will go for the armoured top and bottom!

if you are going on the track, one piece full suit is the way to go.
so many other brands, no need to buy spyke for $1,500.

Revi'it made in europe (netherlands brand) very solid about $1,200
My personal recommendation for budget concious yet seek top quality.

Motorworld stocks many jap brands and the sales staff not helpful.
go there to buy only for convenience . pay and then **** off

Revi'it is available at Biketech21 right?

One thing about Kominie suits, they are pretty heavy... I tried on one before, but the fit is pretty decent.

BTW anybody tried Nankai suits before? My fav HK/Zhuhai racing team uses that...

    no problem, just sharing experience.

komine suits are light in my opinion, the make is not very solid. but the price is good. so it makes a good entry level suit for someone who wants protection yet dont want to spend so much.

however, my theory is if want to buy , buy a better one to start with.

if no money, save a bit more, money well spent is alright...

Your hints a bit the obvious... Heh...

When I'm back from my studies, riding a class 2 supersport or sport-tourer, I'll definitely get myself some quality leathers to protect my skin. But for now, tahan for a few months first loh.

    motoworld lim kopi????

motoworld is one of the rather crappy bike shops around.
other than the fact that they stock up quite a lot of accessories, i dont think they are any good.

like i said, must adopt buy then fock off style...........

The best selling suit now in Hong Kong, Taiwan, China is Arlen Ness, they'd also sell well in the UK, Japan, and Europe, there is NO distributor in S'pore for now, but can order from this site : www.bg-performance.com
In 2004, Arlen Ness has Kangeroo suits that is much lighter and stronger, all Top GP riders are wearing Kangeroo nowaday.

that's pretty true, Kangaroo skin is getting very popular due to the toughness and softness. Price is of course higher.

Arlen Ness suits are nice. They are more popular in the american market like Joe Rockets etc... Arlen Ness does a lot of harley suits. They were very popular for harley leather stuff, when I was riding cruiser in mid 90s

    Hi, Trottle,
There are 2 different Arlen Ness, the original Arlen Ness is a High end Harley Performance parts brand with a small range of leather apparels.

The Racing Arlen Ness is a Italian OEM Race leather company that use to do OEM for some of the big names in Race leather and decide to started their own label, so they bought the right of the Arlen Ness name and produce some of the best race leathers in the world market today, this company is called : Madif Industries and they have 2 brands of Bike leathers and apparel collection call :
Arlen Ness which the logo is a Shield with Arlen Ness word and another is a Dragon
    Berik Design is the Eyes

We're still looking for a good distributor in Singapore and Malaysia, if anyone has some good contact, pls let us know, as we're sure the Arlen Ness products will be good for these 2 rkets and the prices are extremely good.

interested party pls contact : sales@bg-performance.com

Some people bring a big bag, while others wear the suit there. For me and my buddy, we wear our suits there because I leave home and head straight for PG (with the exception of petrol top-ups) and after the session, head home. If you intend to go anywhere else, maybe you can bring a bag.

Er... I was more of referring to you, brother.

As for me, almost going to buy (CookieSol letting go of his Dainese) then suddenly I find my cash disappearing into bills and more bills. Sigh... Just when I found a good deal. *phui* Hopefully when I come up with the cash, it's still on sale...

I'm using the Fieldsheer Tungsten 1 piece suit and i find it okay. The stiching quality is pretty good .

I'm selling my suit if you're interested to get one. I'm moving to HK for work soon and won't have a chance to use it
