depends on individual's liking for the bike..
for myself..this is my 2nd vara..
my first bike was vara..den changed to X9 and now vara again..
reason being i dun really fancy riding a 2B sportsbike or phantom(no offence)

most people might think tat its a waste of $ spending so much on a 2B bike

varadero_1984 i htink your nick must change to [vara84] .. easier to type..*hehe*

Anyways i never quite understood why from vara125 u change to X9 then to vara125 (again)
and the best part, u did lose any $$$ while making that change..

anyways [fleaz], if you like vara125, its a good tie to get now, so far there are 2 riders selling their vara125, so can get a cheaper 2nd hand one, back when i was getting vara125, cant even find any 2nd hand, too new..

anyways, i find vara125, its really a nice city riding road bike, personally i feel its made for the matured people, cos it quiet, easy to ride, nice riding posture, looks nicer with a box..

but if you just want to speed, need to get high at 150km/h then dont bother lah, if your the type that likes to speed, i suggest get a cheap rxz endure for 1 yr then set 2A then get CBR 400 or some other 400cc sports bike.. that should be your path..

for me personally i feel the fact that my bike, cant really pick up like other sports bike and cant go beyond 120km/h makes me not bother to speed or try stuff, which i personally feel unintentionally makes me a safer rider,

    my 2 cents worth anyways...

Philosophy A: Ignore what everyone else thinks. Riding is a better way to get around. Ride paranoid and keep your skills sharp

Philosophy B: Ride with somebody who's better than you. You will pick up a handy trick or new skill just about every time you are out

Philosophy C: You don't need a big bike to prove ur passion for riding

Well, vara is not a sportbike, but you can do some mod to improve its performance. Well, as you would like to check up with vara125 or lucifer. According to my experience, just tell me what is the max speed limit that you are able to travel in SG, sad to say, even if you go at 100kmh, you will try to keep a look out, as you tends to go beyond the limit. Well, only place that you can go for the speed is in 2nd link to Malaysia, it's speed limit is 100~110kmh. Thus you can test all machine there.

My vara is been mod with 02 boosters, which has double what normal bike needs, by the way guys, I have tested my max speed, but very scared lah while travelling in the speed of 130kmh... very scared of TP ratar gun, if kana, my licence also can protect lah...

Niti, I will post the address shortly ok, now busy with my course work and exam coming soon..... Full Time Work, Part Time study..
Welcome to the world of acidsburn

looking at your AT gives me inspiration to clear my 2A and get my 2,

guys our vara125 fuel consumption is 25km/l

his AT (after he changed his air filter to K&N) became 21km/l!

    fantastic huh..

wonder if its time for me to change my air filter too...

Guys, are u all interested in a "nature ride" in sg?

long time back i was organizing one of these, but somehow it never happen.

nature ride, is where we just ride around sg, all the ulu places, like sembaewang or punggul, or jalan bahar area, sarimbun areas, find off road dirt track and ride -ride, but be warned, your bike might get dirty..

    any one keen..
also these kind of rides, very tiring one, but i bet quite fun, we ride at 60-70, enjoy nature and the ulus of sg..

    you guys keen?

when and where.. dont know lah.. just want to check the interest first..

Hey, the nature ride sounds good! i always wanted to ride around sg... no particular place to go but just ride on and on, see the sceneries and all. but the thing is i dunno where to go but i m very interested to ride around the cemetaries at lim chu kang, really!!! but not alone ah....

visual, u intend to ride in the mg or nite? actually i prefer nite riding coz less traffic and can go slower. no one to disturb me. any ideas where to go?

I am a mature rider, but the Vara 125 is not my cup of tea.

Would you really dare take a vara off road on e Johor trails, it seems very heavy to me, and no knobbly tyres.

There are one or two trails in Johor you should be OK, have seen the cubs and phantoms there.

i think i prefer to ride scramblers then sports bike, kind of wish i had spare cash to own one...

but [chris 525] vara125 & 1000cc are NOT off road bikes...
were really road bikes, but can handle alittle bit of off road and trails better then sports bikes or cruisers.

Well vara84, I have went down to motoworld that day, only managed to get the tank bra and the ermax windshield, but have to wait for the items to come. The bagster tank bra quite useful as I can put my things in the bagster tank bag. Anyway, I will wait for the items to come then decide on the tank bag. All magnetic tank bag don't fit into our vara.. sigh...

Will be getting the under crowl if any of you got lobang, but mainstand will be the last lah... as hardly use lah... also too used to side stand already

Niti, remember the boosters that you wanted to install, it's costs $80 for 02 lah, as our vara got 02 pistons wah. By the way, the day I ordered the tank bra, the guy Nick said it costs around $130, but till the day the items arrived, there will be some more discount lah... WHY? You interested also huh?? Maybe after I install the bra, I will save to get 1 tank bag, as with the tank bra, I dun need to buy the magnetic tank bag, as none suit our bike lah.

Niti, and vara bros, if you want me to accompany you guys down, just call me ok. Niti got my number lah. But I'm not sure whether this Sunday, are they open? As Sat is May day, thus dun know whether they will closed or not. Maybe I will call them on Sunday to double confirm, but the thing is, any of you guys want to go down this sunday, if yes, maybe can try calling them first.

They open on sunday too till 5.30pm. I will call them and check out ok. Just now, SLE got accident and the jam is till toa payoh side, scary man... (I went to Orchard to pick up my wife, but I take a route back from Bukit Batok West side, and used the old Woodlands road to come home.

Guys, another info needed, how to know when to use the reserved, as our vara no fuel meter lah...

easy lah, when u top up petrol to full tank (reset your trip meter so that it reads 0km)

without reserve u can go to about (380-410km) depend on your usage, so when the bike is round 380km (distance traveled since last petrol top) just be on standby,

On yeah learn to switch from 'on' to 'reserve' while riding on the bike..so when the bike suddenly feels like no power, straight away go to reserve,

so for me , when i hit 380km, i just be on the look out for power loss, then go to reserve ( on reserve u can travel at max 50 more km) anyways when ur on reserve its time to top up your petrol, do not push your luck,

and remember after top up petrol full tank, reset trip meter..

that all lah... hope it make sense..
