    Hi Aqualung,

Maybe you want to try this out:

    http://brakingusa.com/pages/sportbike.html

    The brake pad is CM55.

If you want to know more, check with PasirRis. Price around $180-$200, the shop I need to check with Pasirris if you really want. Good feedback from many riders b/c of the high temperture without fading.

Today i call evershine for the price of the original brake pads.

They quote me $100 for the rear and say more exp for the front.

Even ebc and dp are not that exp.

I would rather use the aftermarket ones.

hi, i've been bitten by the zx10 bug recently and have looked up some reviews on the bike in the internet and mags. it's a fantastic bike and just a little heavier than the xz6 and is a very light 1L bike. however, a few reviews did say it is an expert's piece of equipment given the power. but it is good news that alex is getting used to the bike after a 2 year absence.

i would also like to find out from zx10 riders if they feel comfy(wrists and lower back especially) when they go up north(till KL and back?)

it was great to know about the FI sensor issue. will look it up. keep the technical discussions coming in!

    Hi Speed,

Actually who is that ZX10R? Issit your friend or some stranger that you meet on the road. It depends on the rider rather than the bike, the bike only give you a better advantage if you are a dare devil.

I still have a lot to learn from those season riders who is on the track. My balls isn't that big but I just want to get the best value of the price I paid for. Well, I love those slippery clutch. I didn't ride for quite a while so when I first ride this bike, I also takes a few weeks to adjust to the bike. Beside that, the Ninjas gave me a lot of advice on body posture, brakes & etc. Glad that the Ninjas are really a group of friendly mate.

    Hi Speed,

Thanks for putting up those link, but the description for the link may be a little off track.

Btw, for the 2005 colour scheme, you have to check with Evershine Auto. I guess the other 2 new colours are Titanium & Magma red.

    Cheers

    Hi SX,

There are the convention way of drilling the fairing to mount directly to the engine frame which is about $60-70, or you can purchased the off-set sliders from Shogun ($65), Champ sliders (ard $usd 100 from ZX10R) or Muzzy sliders ($280-300) from the internet or from Motovation.

Pm me your contacts if you want some more opinion.

    Cheers

You need to keep the speed up until the wind pushes at your upper body.
Then it will take the load off the wrist.
Wear a kidney belt, it helps.
Riding gear should have a good fit.
Day or 2 before the ride, have a good rest and drink lots of water.

Sound advice I didn't really expect the 10R to go that far initially too. Good on you. You strap your barang barang on the bike too? Any comments on the windshield? Is it large enough ta cope with the wind blast?

Strapped the barang barang on the pillion seat/pad.
Tried a tank bag but anything faster than 170km/hr and
you begin to fight with the wind.
I do have a zero gravity double bubble.
BTW I dropped 1 tooth off the front sprocket,
so the speed on the speedo may vary.

    Hi guys,

I just remove my honeycomb catylster & I can feel that the bike runs a little easier (acceralation) & also much cooler. Sound seems just a little bit louder but I can't really hear it. Done my mod at Seng Kwang price is about $80-100 depending if you know him.

I'm still maintaining the butterfly valve to balance the mid range.

    Will update you guys again.

have read a RIDE mag and the tester also took a zx10r for a long distance trip in UK with other bikes. the bike surprised him to be quite comfy for long distance. i also see him strap his stuff on the tail instead of a tankbag.

    Hi Stsoh,

Thanks for the link. I prefer to keep this low profile so I didn't link that to the local forum. The reason is that I dun want any unwanted comments. The other reason is that there are a few brothers in that forum who offered helps to rebuild my bike.

Btw, I am recovering fast & able to walk with only 1 clutches.

Yes Ken. I am getting louder pop single sound whenever I do hard de-acceralations & the only way to reduce it (I guess) is to remove Kleen Air Induction System. The other benefit is b/c of the weight reduction. I not sure if my model is equipped with this system.

Hope someone out here can comment.

same nick, only thing is tat i'm a sleeper.
did not reply any message there, have been reading since last year.
i downgraded to a 125 ever since riding ninja7r n still am a ninja fan.
very keen on zx10r n cbr1krr, contemplating on either one but stop short becos of both r new first generation design n age also a factor.
i would rather wait for second/third gen when most faults r rectified.
hope u get well soon, i have been in many accidents too n still up riding more passionately.

get well n don't give up riding.
    Hi stsoh,

Thanks for the words..... I need them badly but I see what can be done. Given another chance to get a litre class... I still will chose the ZX10R.

Yes Ken. I am getting louder pop single sound whenever I do hard de-acceralations & the only way to reduce it (I guess) is to remove Kleen Air Induction System. The other benefit is b/c of the weight reduction. I not sure if my model is equipped with this system.

Hope someone out here can comment.
    I solved it by adding a PC3.

Well let us know when you are getting & we can advise you on that.

Btw, I tot the 04 R1comes with a standard damper mounted below the triple clamp?

I guess the old race can may not be the correct diamension for the 10r.

For the sliders, you can either use the drilled-in or the off-set bracket.

I've been riding this bike since the 5th May 2004. Here's a personal bug report:

Vibration - If you're female and the handlebar was your vibrator, you would be having simulteneous multiple orgasms every single time you ride the bike. This bike vibrates ALOT. Initially unnoticable at short trips, you WILL experience this problem via numbness in your palms after a long ride. Installing aftermarket barends or a steering damper might help out. Do check your screws and holders now and then as vibration causes them to magically drop out. Honest.

Rattling - Complementary to vibration, there must be sound. Early model ZX10Rs rattle all the time in any gear from 1-4k rpm. This I understand is due to an incorrectly installed shim on the generator unit but is essentially harmless. Unless of course you consider an irritating rattling sound drilling itself into your subconcious everytime you ride the bike on low revs a psychological harm. Moral of the story? Ride at higher RPMs.

Clutch cable routing - Kawasaki designers were busy with making the bike look good. So much they forgot about proper clutch cable routing. The stock clutch cable runs through in between the two front brake hoses and into the right side fairing. Problem is, the clutch cable frictions against one of the fairing holders every single time you turn your handlebar. Given time, this would surely result in a torn/worn clutch cable. Solution? Wrap the responsible fairing holder up on plastic/whatevertheshityoucangrabyourhandson/blacktape just so it wont cause your next crash.

Engine cut off under deceleration - I've gotten this problem once and it happened under hard 2nd gear deceleration. Basically I allowed the bike to decelerate to 3k rpm (low rpm) and i full throttled the bike, resulting in the bike cutting off. The feeling of it is like when a carburatted bike doesnt get any petrol and chokes to stoppage. I understand this is due to a Throttle Position Sensor fault and interestingly, a friend on an 04 R1 has the exact same problem. Both bikes only experience this quirk under track abuse though so all in all, it *might* still be safe for road use.

Popping on deceleration - Happened alot more frequently after my exahaust was changed. Due to the absence of the gay Catalytic Converter, the KLEEN system now supplies oxygen into the exhaust which is no longer needed to save the earth for your sons and grandsons. During deceleration, this indirectly somehow results in the popping sound i so love to hear. To remove the KLEEN system, get some of them air valve block off plates and install them. www.kyleuse.com

High running temperatures - This isnt a bug but I'll like to touch up on it. I'm on water watter as well as a muzzy aluminium fan but still my bike's temperature flares up in slow traffic like as if it was hell on earth. It got so bad that my cylinder head gasket hardened and leaked a little due to the extreme heat generated. I was told that is 'NORMAL' for 12Rs and 10Rs locally to replace their head gasket once every few months due to the extreme heat generated by these high compression engines. Eventually, we all have to agree that Kawasaki designed our bikes NOT for riding in slow/hot conditions.

Just made a trip to Krabi during the CNY.
Along the way, realise that my radiator fan does not cut in.
So I got someone to install a switch connected directly to the fan and battery. I suspect that the thermostat is not working.
Is there any product out there that can replace the current thermostat and yet cut in at a lower temp?

    Hi all,

I have a Toby damper ($550) & a DB Clear Zero Gravity ($130) windscreen for my ZX10R. I haven't fix on to the bike yet. Please let me know if anyone is interested to take over.

    Thanks
