    1) how much does a new fuel cap cost

Intruders also have problem with the fuel cap as they rattle due to poor seals. I solved the problem, once and for all, by lining the underside of the cap with a thick rubber sheet. Now a little down force on the cap is necessary to lock and unlock the cap. Perhaps you can try this method.

Just drained off half the petrol, and top up again. If it starts and runs, just give it a good ride to clear the system. I don't think it's necessary to do carb wash, and I haven't even heard of "wash the whole engine system"

Any petrol station can buy container. Just ask over the counter. Or you can always open the cap and let the petrol evaporate. Or throw match in. It'll burn faster. hahaha..

Why not just keep riding and keep topping up? Same thing wat

    It's not the same.

Water has a heavier density than petrol, so water will always remain at the bottom of the tank where your petcock is.

I see. Like that just go to a shop ask them help you drain. Simple task for them. They'll just pull out 2 screws, remove the tank and drain. Coffee money for them. Since you're there might as well do a routine servicing. I'm due for mine soon. The full works. Both filters, all oils, fuilds and coolants and plugs. Ouch.

It is very simple to get rid of those little water in the tank actually. All bottom most carb have a screwhead as shown at the pix below. Try to ride to upmost level of MSCP. There untighten the screw and let the fuel/water mixture flow freely for say 10 seconds. H2O is heavier than fuel, and that area is the bottom-most place before the fuel enter the combustion chamber. The chances of H2O trapped there is high.

If the fuel flows on the carpark floor, let it be. It will drys in no time. If you have more than 1 carb, each carb need to be done the same.

I am neither smart nor a mechanic.

If I have no intention of helping, I wouldn't have suggested a solution. What you have asked is really beyond me. See you question below.

hi bros, i need your assistance, i have a daelim vt evolution model 2001, and i was just wondering, if the phantom back rims is compatible with daelim rims? cos my back rims 'teeth' the part where your chain loop around, is kinda "screwed" due to an incident where my chain got stuck in between those area. any advice whether the rims are compatible and which shp is recommended and the price wise? thanks a mill!

shouldn't you be changing your rear sprocket instead of the entire rim?

Precisely with what tingchiyen have said! You would just need to change the rear sprocket. Do check out with Choong Kok for the price or with your favorite or frequent motor shop.

Default About Midle Aged cruising enquiries

hi everyone, to all cruiser riders, i am handling a design project on middle aged, hence i looked into the aspect of riding harley davidson or big cruisers to be of a class pitched to the middle aged, i know that many younger generations love to ride the harley davidson chopper, i am one of them.

Hence i got some questions and maybe some enquiries on any problems while riding on road trips etc. Problems maybe with the climate, environment or maybe the weight of the chopper that could be ease with the help of a new design.

One example maybe the middle aged will have problems lifting the motorcycle up after falling and it could be an additional addon to lift the bike up instantly.

On another instant i wish to know why harley davidson will be an ideal lifestyle for the middle aged and how it blends into your lives and what can be the most ideal word or phrase you will identify this great sport.

So i wish to learn more about this lifestyle and i welcome any suggestions and problems.

i can be contactable at this email xmike_shinodax@hotmail.com , really hope to learn alot more about you all.
    Thanks

    Soon to be rider Eason.

Chiobu la. The bike I take. hahaha. Or vice versa also can. Either ways I'll have something between my legs.

Jokes aside, building the machine in overseas is damn ex. I came across a site before stating the starting price. STARTING price. I think I'll just buy a normal bike or 2, or even 3. heee

Yes and no. The license you are enrolling for, I assume is class 2B? American chopper are typically in class 2 range. But, it is possible for one to modify and customize a class 2B cruiser to look like an American chopper in smaller size. However, to ride it on Singapore road, you will be required to sent the bike to LTA for series of inspection to obtain the necessary approval which usually is likely to fail the inspection to ride it on our road be it a class 2B, 2A or 2 category. Other alternatively is ride the bike illegally and pray that you don't see any ROV patrolling around.

The correct authority is LTA. ROV is just another entity working on behalf for LTA to fulfill the same role of vehicle inspection on our road.

All motorcycle is not allowed to undergo such modification or customization as these motorcycles are not certified by manufacturer to be road worthy. Thus, our authority has to ensure the riders has to be the least ensure of their safety, riding a motorcycle that is certified road worthy by the manufacturers.

The same law applied in most other countries as well. If you are not aware, the law enforcers in most other Asian countries with exception of Thailand and Philippines to as far as my understanding from Japan, Korea, China, India and Malaysia are just being lenient or xxxx. I have skipped Vietnam, Myanmar, Cambodia and Laos because big motorcycles are almost non-existence in these countries.

Hi... I am rather attracted to the fact that u r looking for a big cc bike, here in Singapore...

First of all, u may want to consider looking under the ST1100 thread
http://www.singaporebikes.com/forums...ad.php?t=74039, BotakMonk is selling off his ST1100 http://www.singaporebikes.com/forums...00#post5336900
However, the market price for an ST1100 is about $7.5-10k, it may not be within ur budget, but if u negotiate well enough, who knows?

Next, for an FJR1300, u may look at this thread http://www.singaporebikes.com/forums...ad.php?t=67783
However, for an FJR1300, market value is definitely above 10k... But u may want to try your luck with the earlier models...

I'm not too sure about the Valkyrie or the X4, so u might wana check out the other threads and Singapore bike shops... Whateva ur choice is, I wish u all the best in ur bike search!!! Please update us on what bike u got and how much u bought it for... (It can give us a clearer, more updated market value report)

    Sorry for the late reply.

It should be a lot cheaper in Singapore and you can find out the cost thru the local Kawasaki agent, Evershine Auto. 176, Sin Ming Drive, #01-21/22, Tel: 64535009, 64531237.

    Good luck.
