    Hmmm...

A pair of thai pad is good enuff for some training....

Well, u cannot say that for every gym, the gym that i used to train in when i was a beginner, they started trainin us in the ring during my 3rd or 4th lesson....

Instructor would circle u around the ring or they would make u circle them around the ring, at any time stick out the thai pads for u hit, wif wat type of punches or kicks or elbows or knee... To train ur reflexes as well.... They will sometime also for no good reason try to hit u in a slower than usual motion and train u in blocking or evasion reflexes.... N pad training in a ring is my FAVOURITE!

    Cheers!

    Default hi

hope my info helps a bit for u guys here.
am really glad to know muay thai is getting hot in sg here.
i've been training in fight g from may.

the place is small but for a class of 10 over pple wouldnt be a problem.
it has 2 storeys with ring on the first and 2 bags on the second.
u can rent gloves from them and they sell canned drinks at 1$ each. u take one can and place money or take change urself in the fridge.
u can also purchase gloves, mouth guards($5), groin guards($15) etc.
there's only one toilet and one shower room. well, it actually bonds every1 tgt while waiting. lol
the teacher ,bruce, is friendly and everyone likes him.
there are plenty of pple in their 30s in the evening session so don feel old when u're there. haha
anything thing else u can ask here

    cheers

    Hi there chicky89,

nice to noe there's someone who is interested in muay thai....

I went to Fight G to recky b4... I find the place really small though... Maybe coz i have trained at other gyms and comparin it wif Fight G... There's oni 1 ring... N about 4 bags on the 3rd storey... N not enuff toilet.... Well, i dun mean to tok bad about ur sch.... Its just my own preferences... Btw, do u ride there? How do u park?

Btw, lets not compare gyms here... Lets all be friends who is both interested in Muay Thai and bikes...

    Cheers...

Well, if class is like 10-15, den maybe should have 2 trainers.... Easier to spot mistakes...

    Just my own opinion...

Yoz, Bro, thanks for showing us to the place...

We went up to the ring on our trial session today.

Yes, I agree with you. Punching and kicking the thai pads are very shiok... heehee...

I felt like a idiot when my co-ordination of my limbs suxxx, like don't know which hand to stick out to punch the pads and the kicking, I feel like I am kicking like a "gu-niang" like that... Guess still not used to it yet... muahahahahahaha...

Hi, pal, it's not about the weight, it's about the mind. It's all in the mind.

Like I used to worry about age, starting to learn only at after 30s, but then after the trial session, we realised it is all in our mind, not our age, our weight, our nationality, or whatsoever.

We can never realise how much we can achieve until we take that very first step out.

    Merry X'mas to all.

    Cheers.

Bro, thanks very much for your help in finding out the prices of the gear for me.

Think I will go for the two basic gears if / when I join.

Do you think the shin guards are necessary??

I went back to Prankster's "first school" for my trial sesion.

    It was good.

I had a very good night's sleep that night after that trial session. (If you know what I mean.. )

Mr Prankster has joined the school for the normal sessions.

I had to delay one month due to financial constraints, but likely to join Mr Prankster next month after I clear some of my loans with my Jan pay... A lot of loans and bills to pay as I have just finished my renovations last Nov and moved in mid Nov 2009.

If you wish to know the fees and payment arrangement of the normal sessions and the prices of the two basic gears, you may wish to PM Prankster or myself for more details. I am not sure whether it is convenient to reveal the prices here, so chose not to reveal.

Aside to Prankster, sorry for "putting A380 aeroplane" to you, don't mean to, but really got to work out my finances first. Most likely to join you next month. We meet and ride to school together, if you don't mind.

    Shiok and fun.

If not for this training, I won't "discover" more of myself.

"Discover" more of myself that actually I cannot skip a rope at all. Learning to to do rope-skipping now... hahahaha...

"Discover" more of myself that actually my coordinations of my four limbs suxx big time. I was more of like an octopus than a MT student when I was in the ring. hahahaha...

Anyway, I was only into my second lesson last evening. Went for my first on Tuesday.

Don't worry, Bro, with such trainings from Ton, you will see your "island" split and divided into 6 or 8 "smaller, squarish islands" very soon.

    hahaha...

I hate my 3-tonner tyre and that pairs of "handles" hanging around my waist too.

to you for your effort to try to go every day.

Too bad you have to work on weekends.

If not, maybe we can arrange to go for Muay Thai on weekdays.

Then we can arrange to go for cardio-trainings (e.g. jogging->bringing a skipping rope with us, then followed by skipping at the end point of our jogs, then followed by our favourite "knock-it-downs" and "curling-up when lying flat on our backs"... haha... ) on the weekends.

I thought of go buy a skipping, so that I can build up my "skipping" during the weekends, when I go jogging. hahahaha...

But then scared I will not have the motivation since I will be doing it alone.... hahahahaha...
