  1. A guide for beginner riders to prep for your first motorbike. Here is a list of essential riding gear and apparel to buy: Rain Coat Choose a raincoat without a hood so that the rain water doesn't collect in the hood. Having a hood also causes wind drag, unless you tuck it into your helmet. A good quality raincoat won't have lining that starts peeling after a few wears. So it'll save you more money in the long-run to invest in quality. Gloves Unlike durian gloves, proper motorcycle gloves come with armoured knuckles, touchscreen material for index fingers, and are made

  13. I strongly disbelieve that Foreign riders i.e. our Malaysian bros will get penalised for not having a PSB approved sticker. I mean how are they going to get a PSB sticker across the causeway. What this essentially mean is that only Singapore Riders are the only ones at the tail end of this law. I have no doubt that the law is amended with good intentions to eradicate fake helmets, but this law only serves to make Riding with a Full Face helmet more expensive. I personally have not seen any helmet retailers beside Cheong Aik and SG Racing World selling PSB approved Full Face Helmets. So wh

  14. Definitely ship from Japan. Ordered 3 times from them. The less bulkier orders which were delivered by air will have a tracking number from Japan post. Sea delivery would take about 40 days. Tried before once for just 1 iridium spark plug last time hahahahah Yup shorter shipping time compared to ordering stuffs from US. Haven’t order from other Japan sites so I can’t compare on that. Shipping cost is still relatively on a higher side so in order to make my shipping charges worth it, got to order a few items at one go. Site is definitely poison with accessories haha

  15. Sorry for the late reply @SBF, bike feels pretty sluggish below 5000rpm, someone suggested I should go try throttle body cleaning and injector cleaning. My bike is a bit tough cos it's PI and I think basically no one has seen this bike before haha. I'm deciding on a day to dismantle the throttle body out myself and try to wash it DIY since I've started doing basic maintenance myself now with a dirt bike stand!

Don't mind me asking, what offence did you get caught for? Failure to form up correctly? For some reason more drivers are submitting in-car camera video of bikers.

  21. Repost from SG Road Vigilante: Couple of BMW GS bikes were seen with modified bike racks attached to their motorcycles carrying what looks to be mountain bikes. With the craze over cycling nowadays, not surprising certain motorcycle owners will look to using their bikes to transport their bicycles. A "concerned" (more like kaypoh) motorist actually wrote in to LTA to enquire whether this is legal/approved and like most other modifications, LTA has stated clearly that this is not allowed/approved. Now you know! P.S. Maybe a foldie would work better rather than a full-size 29-er m

Apparently I have sent my bike to The Carpainter workshop at Pioneer Point to get my fork plastidip for $120. I chose the bright gold, to get almost same original fork colour as it can get. They have plenty other colours as photo attached. Not bad l, i am happy with result. Only thing i dont like is the fork feel abit sticky now and i need to wipe it using wet microfiber cloth when cleaning it. A bit tedious when i want to wash bike from now on. So here is what plastidips

  41. 100% true if you buy a used bike and have it under "lay up". For the new bike, you may be able to workout a deal with the dealership to hold off getting the COE until he is about to take the test or after he passed. Usually they take about 3 days to process the COE if they have some on hand.
    1 point
  42. Short Answer : Yes, you can buy aka pay for the bike first. But the ownership and insurance will only be to your loved one or love one. You cannot own a bike before getting a license. TLDR: Buying a used bike, you can do a "Layup" with the bike shop meaning the bike would be parked in the shop and cannot be used on the road until its removed from that status which is when he gets his license. So this bike is like showpiece at this moment. Bad thing about this is while the bike is on layup status the COE is still running. so if he doesn't pass soon the clock will keep ticking.

  47. During this raining season, the motorist on the roads that will be affected the most will be our fellow motorcyclist and bikers. The biggest advantage a car has over a motorcycle is the enclosed and sheltered place in which the driver sits that protects them from the elements, rain or shine. This has got XMAX SG club member Eric Toh thinking of adding an aftermarket or DIY roof shelter to his scooter make riding in the rain a little bit more bearable and thus he reached out to LTA to check on the legality of the whole situation. Here's what LTA had to say - In short, yes it can

  49. Keep in mind that insurance companies can refuse to pay out for any deaths, medical treatments, or permanent disabilities resulting from head trauma you suffered while wearing a non-PSB approved helmet. This, I feel, is the most vital reason for getting a PSB approved helmet, regardless of how much you may dislike it.
