  1. A guide for beginner riders to prep for your first motorbike. Here is a list of essential riding gear and apparel to buy: Rain Coat Choose a raincoat without a hood so that the rain water doesn't collect in the hood. Having a hood also causes wind drag, unless you tuck it into your helmet. A good quality raincoat won't have lining that starts peeling after a few wears. So it'll save you more money in the long-run to invest in quality. Gloves Unlike durian gloves, proper motorcycle gloves come with armoured knuckles, touchscreen material for index fingers, and are made

  8. Thx for the correction! You are absolutely correct to say if they propose something new, there is an intention to enforce it. Indeed it is most concerning now to us riders who own a helmet that is certified to international standards but just don't have the PSB sticker. I think it is important for us (even the shops themselves that sell non PSB approved helmets) to get an official answer from the authorities on this matter as soon as we can or we will always be looking over our shoulders for TP. Thanks for asking the hard questions for the community, SBF! Looking forward eagerly to w

  11. You hit the nail on the head. I think a lot of us riders are feeling disappointed with all the recent 'negative' news regarding motorcyclists in general. Hope the government can review the proposed rulings and consult us riders to make the situation better for all but still achieving their objectives!

  14. I strongly disbelieve that Foreign riders i.e. our Malaysian bros will get penalised for not having a PSB approved sticker. I mean how are they going to get a PSB sticker across the causeway. What this essentially mean is that only Singapore Riders are the only ones at the tail end of this law. I have no doubt that the law is amended with good intentions to eradicate fake helmets, but this law only serves to make Riding with a Full Face helmet more expensive. I personally have not seen any helmet retailers beside Cheong Aik and SG Racing World selling PSB approved Full Face Helmets. So wh

  15. Definitely ship from Japan. Ordered 3 times from them. The less bulkier orders which were delivered by air will have a tracking number from Japan post. Sea delivery would take about 40 days. Tried before once for just 1 iridium spark plug last time hahahahah Yup shorter shipping time compared to ordering stuffs from US. Haven’t order from other Japan sites so I can’t compare on that. Shipping cost is still relatively on a higher side so in order to make my shipping charges worth it, got to order a few items at one go. Site is definitely poison with accessories haha

Just one random day, when I left my bike at the workshop and met my security guard (Malaysian Rider) at the lift lobby, I heard something shocking and it also cleared my curiosity on why his helmet has scotch-taped on it. This is the link of the modular helmet I have given: https://reginaspecialties.com/products/origine-delta-basic-solid-matt-black-helmet?variant=37635793027260 The Helmet is ECE 22.05 safety certified, you may find out more from this link:(https://unece.org/DAM/trans/publications/WP29/Leaflet_Helmets.pdf)

  22. Repost from SG Road Vigilante: Couple of BMW GS bikes were seen with modified bike racks attached to their motorcycles carrying what looks to be mountain bikes. With the craze over cycling nowadays, not surprising certain motorcycle owners will look to using their bikes to transport their bicycles. A "concerned" (more like kaypoh) motorist actually wrote in to LTA to enquire whether this is legal/approved and like most other modifications, LTA has stated clearly that this is not allowed/approved. Now you know! P.S. Maybe a foldie would work better rather than a full-size 29-er m

  34. for new 2b, Probation plate should be displayed directly above or below the the headlamp and directly above or below the rear licence plate those who fail to display Probation plate will be fined. Repeat offenders with at least 2 offences of failing to display the Probation plate during their one year probation period will have their licence revoked. Just wait n see if u receive any letter from TP. Or u can check your status refer to www.police.gov.sg/resources/traffice-matters www.onemotoring.com.sg

  35. @Mipanzuzuzu What was the latest offence? No display of P-Plate? 1st time is warning, 2nd time is revoke. If your first offence was "Improper Display of P-Plate" and the 2nd offence was "Non-Display of P-Plate", hopefully they won't look at the offences together. Be careful and be sure to display your P-Plate during the 1st year! Not worth losing license over such a simple thing! Difficult journey to get your license! P.S. I also kena once for failure to display P-Plate many many many years ago. Immediate went to put up the plate cause don't wanna lose license. LOL!

  40. 100% true if you buy a used bike and have it under "lay up". For the new bike, you may be able to workout a deal with the dealership to hold off getting the COE until he is about to take the test or after he passed. Usually they take about 3 days to process the COE if they have some on hand.
    1 point
  41. Short Answer : Yes, you can buy aka pay for the bike first. But the ownership and insurance will only be to your loved one or love one. You cannot own a bike before getting a license. TLDR: Buying a used bike, you can do a "Layup" with the bike shop meaning the bike would be parked in the shop and cannot be used on the road until its removed from that status which is when he gets his license. So this bike is like showpiece at this moment. Bad thing about this is while the bike is on layup status the COE is still running. so if he doesn't pass soon the clock will keep ticking.

  45. During this raining season, the motorist on the roads that will be affected the most will be our fellow motorcyclist and bikers. The biggest advantage a car has over a motorcycle is the enclosed and sheltered place in which the driver sits that protects them from the elements, rain or shine. This has got XMAX SG club member Eric Toh thinking of adding an aftermarket or DIY roof shelter to his scooter make riding in the rain a little bit more bearable and thus he reached out to LTA to check on the legality of the whole situation. Here's what LTA had to say - In short, yes it can

  49. Keep in mind that insurance companies can refuse to pay out for any deaths, medical treatments, or permanent disabilities resulting from head trauma you suffered while wearing a non-PSB approved helmet. This, I feel, is the most vital reason for getting a PSB approved helmet, regardless of how much you may dislike it.

  50. i'm just going to share my opinion. when i buy my helmets, i check for international certifications like ECE and SNELL, and i will buy and wear helmets with such certification even without PSB because i consider those standards and testing superior to PSB. i am NOT however part of the anti-PSB brigade. i believe PSB certification is absolutely necessary in general specifically for generic cheap helmets bought and worn by a large segment of bikers. my own father will always buy and wear the cheapest open face he can buy, and luckily he makes sure there is PSB if only to avoid TP summons a
