  1. marko, you work at suntec? i always see a cb400 four black colour park outside near entrance to basement carpark, was wondering if it's yours.
  2. check out what i saw over the weekends! Puch bike! There's 5 unit of Puch in this workshop including this one. Other 4 were rustbuckets and I asked the mechanic if he planned to salvage the 4 for parts to fix this particular one, he told me no. he will restore all 5 of them though i'm not quite sure how he can accomplish it. But still ups for the effort to restore and for the rare bike. Old school style.

  7. yeah, pity though. something about old bikes that has their charm. all metal construction compared to the amount of plastics found on bike now.
  8. here you go, the Katana i saw. what a beauty, pity no one wants it. The frame looks clean enough, bronzed out. The Katana has a huge following in Britain, parts are also commonplace there. Sells for crazy value especially the 1100s. Over here though, seems like it never took off. Singaporeans generally don't like to keep/maintain old bikes.
  9. Not a bad choice really. Especially the older designs, looks very classic retro. The newer bikes are abit too futuristic for me. Curved tanks and all that. Although the main issue is parts and fixing it up, gonna be a pain waiting for parts to arrive and fixing them. anyways, there's also a nice classic Suzuki Katana 750 there at Autobay Guan Hoe. Pity it's left there to neglect, rust and dulled plastics. probably a non runner.
  10. saw a very nice kawasaki z1000r in eddie lawson replica colour at Perfection Motors, Kaki Bukit Autobay today. retro max! it even comes with a KERKER exhaust! and its a pretty damn big bike. very tempted to fire up and listen to the exhaust but not my bike also.....

  13. To the Kawasaki z1000 in traditional green and pinstripes on the AYE this morning near ecp exit, Thumbs up!!!! Finally seen 1 in the metal after reading bout it for so long. Great stuff. I'm the rider on the black Suzuki Impulse.
  14. @736cc, cool man! you got your own garage! easier to fix and tune stuff. you guys should get a copy of Practical Sportsbike, its all about restoring classic bikes from the 80s 90s and early 2000s. alot of resto tips also. my favourite bike magazine. side note, I have a used Suzuki GSX750 retro swingarm for sale. Let me know if anyone wants it. should be able to fit katanas.

  16. hey xjr riders, would like to ask owners here of their opinion on xjr. getting new bike soon and looking for street bikes. don't fancy s4 because so common. would like to ask if the xjr is lighter or handles better than s4? and i heard the engine sounds very rough? is that true?
  17. you can try dent repair yourself using compressed air and hair dryer. but note, this is for light dents that are not sharp or piercing, those wide and round types. and plastic only i think, metal will require higher temperature difference.

  19. bring to planet and just tell ah chong you wanna up sprocket size. most people recommend 1 teeth more for the front, or 3 more for rear. either or, not both. in any case, increasing teeth will increase your top speed at the sake of lower acceleration. give and take thing.
  20. hamster, teach me spray where. the wd40 on the contact points of the battery? or the carbon starter there? i dont know where is the exact location of it, i just whack the area with all the fuses and wires and the neutral light will come back on. haha.
  21. it could be the carbon starter that may be giving you problems, in addition to battery flat. so next time if bike cannot start, and you hear eeeeeek sound from right side chrome cover, probably is the carbon starter. what ah chong from planet will do is give it a good whack with a block of wood. I AM NOT KIDDING. but because i love my bike, what i usually do is remove the right chrome cover and tap around the wire and fuse area, you should see the neutral light go on and off as you tap. then try starting again and tap again.
  22. that stretch is not good for lanesplitting man. cars eat into the lane all the time. and alot of curved section. but that is one fantastic stretch for cornering. i remember once when it was around 1130 pm at that stretch. went through that area pretty quick, managed to lean the bike quite low, ok la Phantom only cannot as low as Motogp la. but low enough to scrape footpeg. fun. countersteering corner after corner, feeling the weight shift. wahhhhhhh.
