  1. hey guys, 19k for stock cbr1000 coe till 2019 any comments?

heard that 08 model got engine oil problem, is it true?

anyway whats the fuel consumption of this bike?

Not all, some. Get an 2010 model, updated flywheel helps with power delivery.

  2. Hi that makes two of us.

I've seen even older Blades, the way they were put together are fantastic. I knew someone that kept his 6 year old uncovered and under the sun/rain but it still looks fantastic. No visible rust.

The 2010 is the best motorcycle I've ever owned. I measured this by the number of grins registered on my face. I'm absolutely tired after each ride.

    Enjoy.

The 2010 model is more fun than the 2012, plus the analogue tach, love i!. :)

  3. Tashi, did they tell you which issue of Motor Culture the Repsol Blade will appear in? I'll make sure I don't miss the issue. Thanks for letting us know of this interesting lubang. If I read this earlier, I may have taken up the offer.

    Sorry, I wasn't told.

  4. A Motor Culture rep just called me up and I thought I'll pass this to you guys.

They are doing some promo for Repsol and is in need of a Repsol Blade, nicely cleaned up with no other brands of oil manufacturer stickers on it.

The Blade will be featured in the mag and needs to be showcased this Fri from 4pm to 8pm.

To sweeten the deal, they will give out a helmet worth $200 plus, t-shirt and 4 bottles of Repsol engine oil.

If you want to sign up, let me know by tomorrow morning. Thanks.

    91185279

    thanks!

Depends on who you ask. For me, no.

  7. have a question. if i wanna change my exhaust pipe, what else muz i do? or will it be easy as plug n play.

how about installation of PC5? what the advantage n disadvantage? :x

If it's just the slip-on, then you don't need to do anything else. PC5 will optimise the power delivery, even without an aftermarket exhaust.

  8. hey guyz... no outing for the bladerz??

    You'll have to organise. :)

    Thanks bro!!!

    - Servcing throttle body ? is it essential ? Servicing the fuel injector ?

    - for 500km, what do you service?

    - I have arrow slip on anw.

:)))) i need more recommendation and tips :)) hahaha

Tyre pressure ? Using supercorsa anw. Mine 35 front. 38 rear

I have never kept my bike that long to service the throttle body honestly. But if a bike has done 100,000 km, and you're already taking so many things apart, might as well.

500km, just change EO and filter, make sure you use mineral oil, not synthetic. I'm sure it's been discussed in this thread before, you'll have to look it up.

Tire pressure really depends on what you are comfortable with. I usually go with 230 front and 270 back.

Yup, think I’m more at ease with that choice, since I have no idea at all with the bike’s long history.

The Top servicing does look comprehensive, of course in the end of the day the price will sure be above the mentioned price as well. Besides the items listed in the top servicing package, are there other critical areas which I should have them checked as well? Eg. Areas on the clutch/gears etc?

Heard from a buddie in the R1 forum mentioning about having their exhaust system decarbonized which costs $1000>.. not sure if he’s serious but I thought its only required for only 2 strokes bikes. Can enlighten on this issue?

Actually there're too many things to list if you want to check. I don't claim to know it all, sorry.

If the bike is running rich all along, carbon deposits will form quickly. You can still decarbonize a 4 stroke. There are easier ways to do that as well, by spraying a liquid mixture into the air box while the engine is running, you'll have to remove the air box. This one might not cost $1000. But then I haven't done this before. You can ask about this. Maybe the mechanic might know.

  9. Hello guys !!!

New CBR 1000rr Rider here. Got myself 2010 model. :)) Pretty much love the bike. Just need to get used to it. !!

1 - Anw how much can the reserve go ?

2 - And what else do you guys service besides the normal servicing e.g.: engine oil plug filter. ?

3 - My rear hugger break while riding. heard its normal for this bike. Any aftermarket hugger which can last longer. As in stronger than the stock one.

4 - What are the recommend exterior modification to play with ?

    5 - Any dos and don'ts ?

6 - And for Valve clearance, how much shop normally charge ?

    Thanks guys

    Answered your questions previously. :)

  10. Am considering doing a top servicing at unique, but the $900> price tag makes me undecisive.. not sure if its neccessary or I can just do with a valve clearance servicing package.. so far no problem with the bike, but havent done any servicing since its out from the bike shop..(less than 1k on the road) any advice which should I go for?

I'd go for the top package at this point. No point saving that $600. Your mileage may improve, and you'll save more in the long run, unless you plan to scrap it. ;)

  11. 160km and 220km before reserve is alot of difference, even with arrow slip on I doubt can have a gap of 60km.. I do run alot mostly on small road though. Any advise what major checks should i do on the bike since its mileage is coming near 100k km? (I know it's freakin high) I only traveled less than 1000 km with it though since i bought it. Please dont tell me to scrap the bike. I simply adore it too much.

Watched the video numberous times before I decided to get my CBR. Definitely 1000 X better than porn material :)

Wow, respect to the previous owner! When I was staying at the city center, I only managed 18x km before the reserve light comes on.

When was the last time a valve clearance was done? Looks like you'l have to send it in for a full service.

I noticed your wheels are not orange, the Repsol design must be repainted? There's no Repsol offered for 06 models.

  12. My 06 Cbr fuel consumption is around 11.5km/l. Reserve lights up At 160-170km. Pumped 14.5l to full. Bike is fitted with arrow slip on, rest are stock. Anyone ridin the same model can advise if it's normal?

My 06 hits about 22x to 24x before the light comes on. It's how you run it in too. Which is why I am very picky that no one touches the bike when I buy one. It's got to come out of the box in front of me.

i did call them today, they have a fully stock repsol - 24K man... i went there last year before, didn't have a good experience with the owner....

Here's a 2010 model if you're interested. Accident free, below 17,000km, special run in by long time Honda owner who has owned 5 different models of FireBlades, unboxing supervised by owner too for reasons average people would not comprehend, HP figures more than a Blade with full system, hand washed and pat dry by owner only, no swirl marks, but talk to him to learn more. It's got a lot of upgrades since this video was made though. Price is $32,288. Price excludes the number plate and the special bolts given to him by a dear friend though.

  13. Hi. Im a new CBR 1000 rider here. Riding for 2 weeks and still learning. I've never had a class 2 bike so basically this is my first time . So yeah, would like all the old timers or riders from the same class to share their experience, dos and don'ts , servicing and etc.

    1) What are the usual servicing for you guys beside changing engine oil and plug ?

    2) What mileage do you guys service ?

    3) For CBR rider, Any tips, things to look out for and etc ?

    4) What are the accessories to play with?

    Thanks guys.

Welcome to the family. What model are you riding? Post some pix!

    1. Oil filters. Spark plugs don't have to change so frequently. Other than that, really nothing much.

    2. 500, 1,000, 2,500, 5,000, 10,000, 15,000, 20,000 ...

    3. The staples on the under side of the seat might scratch your paint job, make sure you put some clear film to protect it.

    4. Exhaust is a start.

  15. Hi Denver Dino,

First of all, thank you for taking ur time to reply. Okay, Its an 08 but registered on 10, thus the 1st rider only rode it for that much 3800km. When I first started the bike out from the shop, the sound was immmenently there. No, the enginse case was never broken into before as I can see that the original bolts and all were not disturb.

2ndly, if its a second hand bike, do we really have the luxury to go back to boon siew to ask in the first place? Clutch recall? Yes, I've read that somewhere in this forum regarding about that. So shud I just test market and try?

After a clutch recall has been done, the dealer is supposed to punch a dot on the frame plate. Not everyone does that, but feel free to haul it in to check.

  16. Hi, for a Fireblade 2010 model, I wonder what's the max I can go before the reserve goes empty. So far tested until 0.4.

I tried to seach this woopa thread but yet to find this info. Pls let me know if you knew. Thanks.

I've gone till 3.6 when it went empty, there could be some variances from bike to bike.
