you riding which model?

No yet riding but intending to get a p200 or 180, maybe even the new NS! :) I just thought if it would be possible to mod the pulsar series bike to bigger tires.

Ok. P180 UG1, UG2 & UG3 have narrower swingarm so cannot go beyond 120 in the rear.

P200 and P180 UG4 can take upto 140 I guess.

If wide tyres is important then, check out Daelim Roadwin R 150, I believe it can take the widest tyres in 2B.

For pulsar 180 Dunlop tt900 are perfect budget tyres.

But pulsar 200 it is Michelin Pilot sporty 100/80 front and 130/70 rear. These are 1 upsize compared to stock, i.e slightly wider but lower profile so gives better grip than stock yet speedo error and gear ratio not affected much. Best part is pricing is 140$ for pair at unique motors. :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:

@Perfect:

welcome friend. its ok to be all fired up about singapore since u have little knowledge how this country is like and cost and the way of living. typical to those who havent been here. just imagine singapore, the smaller version of japan.

note to importing vehicles to sg: its possible but its a hassle n very expensive. unless ur a rich expat.

Is there any way to check with our India friends on the following queries for the 200NS?

1. Can the p200 fuel tank be installed on the 200NS?

2. Does the 200NS have the cam-cover oil leak problem

3. FC only 35km/L ?

I think they put the round plastic thing so that it is easy to access the cam chain while servicing it, without removing the engine head. I have seen it on other bikes too, even super 4 engine has 2 of those chrome round thingies, on both sides so totally 4 of them. I guess for pulsar, they could have used metal instead of plastic to improve it's durability. Pulsar engine head cover is also plastic, lol.

i agree...but if cam chain got problem or servicing i think they gonna pop off the top block and look inside anyway i think...

Just remembered watching this in the Pulsar service manual.

See pg 34, looks like top end servicing doesnt really need the block to be taken off.

One bad design in the pulsar is the placement of the starter motor, in order to replace the starter motor need to remove the right side crankcase cover :slapforehead: The reason is the the screws secure the crankcase cover to starter motor base. Removing the right side crankcase cover is a big mess, because need to drainout oil, change the gasket and the labour $$$ all this for just changing the starter motor. If it was placed like other bikes, like phantom, can change it DIY.

Just a question. Is it true that the pulsar top head always leaks? . Because even when i bought my bike. Its leaking.

I guess, when the bike is on stock sprocket setup and ridden at highway speeds the RPM is just way too high(~8k+) and the pressure created causes the glued seals near the cam cover area, to give away. By design the pulsar wasnt meant to be ridden at such high rpms continuously anyways.

Not sure how frequently it happens, but would have happened in most pulsars atleast once in it lifetime.

if revhappy theory is right .. you just need to spend $35 sgd only once in a life time to rectify that problem .. cost inclusive labour and 3 parts need to change ... camshaft cap and 2 pcs O rings for tappet caps .... :)

the positive side when you send to fix that problem... you can see the condition inside of your top engine .. kekekekke :)
